Alrighty folks! There are only two days left in our challenge. If you're still in, keep going! If you had obstacles come your way, that's okay. That's life. Get yourself back up and keep moving forward. All are welcome to continue with the next 3 month challenge.

Awesome! I would say buy yourself at least one thing that fits now to make you feel good about yourself, if it fits into your budget. You deserve to show off your hard work!

I went and tried on some dresses yesterday. Everything I own is really too big for me. But I'm not quite where I'd like to be so I don't want to buy one but I did look and try. I tried on some 8s which is smaller than what I have had before.

Info on the new challenge. I named it "3 mn challenge Apr-Jun 2013: loose 1 dress size" and put it in the "Monthly Challenge" area. I would love for all of you to join me, regardless if you met this challenge or not. If you did succeed, what worked for you? If you didn't make your goal, what can you do better? Areas I can do better: get all the choclated out of the house, go to bed earlier, put exercising into my schedule, etc... If you decide not to do the challenge this next time, then I wish you well on your exercise journey.

I will not be making the goal this time around. We've had sickness, schedules changes, and my son had surgery this past week, not to mention getting over those mental hurdles or exhaustion from doing everything else but exercising. I'm taking this next week to reevaluate my plan again and get myself ready for the next go around, which is April 1st. Look for the new thread. I'm going to name it: 3 month challenge - loose 1 dress size. Keep going everyone. Just because the challenge is ending in a week doesn't mean you should give up now. Exercise is the thing we thyroid folks need to be happy and healthy. Do it for you, your significant other, your children, etc... DON'T STOP. We can do this.

Have been able to walk to lunch twice this week (just over a mile each way!) I know that doesn't sound like much but being totally immobilized by heart problems and emphysema, that's incredible for me! I won't be able to accomplish the goal this time, but the progress I've made will continue to propel me forward so I will be able to meet the one starting in April!

I'm so proud of everyone here and really appreciate your encouragement!

Thank God in all things!

YIPPEEEEE! I don't know if I am down a dress size officially, but I can squeeze (barely) in a skirt I could could not even get over my hips before. I know I have lost several inches. Whatever happens with goal, I did make good progress. Still pushing!

WE CAN DO IT GUYS!

Keep it up Camileva! You are not just giving in, but constantly moving forward with healthy choices. Reality is, you will have a bunch of bad days or moments; but you deciding to pick up and keep going is why you will continue with success on your journey! emoticon

This has been a bad week for me. I didn't sleep well Sunday night and with the time change got up an hour earlier on Monday. Monday was a busy day so I expended a ton of energy. I have been so stink'in tired! As of yesterday, I finally caught up with my sleep, but my house needed some TLC. I've gotten myself on a better eating habit and continue to drink water.

I am still having hope I will fit into a smaller size. We have plenty of time to be hopeful and continue pushing forward. I have not lost what I wanted to, and even went backwards (over 5lbs). However, for the first time in a long time I am not going to claim defeat. When the end of the month is here, IF I have not reached it, I am going to focus on how close I am and join you guys for the April challenge! In the mean time, I will keep moving forward and give as much as I can and have a sense of accomplishment in that. Just can't say don't think I can reach it yet, even if it is wishful thinking! :)

Down 9 lbs and lost 3.9 inches total since Feb. Hoping for the best.

Amme47 - Insanity does have several high impact knee exercises. There are SEVERAL squats, push-ups, jumping jacks, etc... I would not recommend it. I also love Zumba, and you can get an awesome workout from that. I will try keep an eye out. An oldie I will always love is Taebo, but there are kicks in that as well. Most will have things not ideal for your knee, but I will try to think of things that have less in them. Have you looked at the Biggest Loser series? I did one of the cardio DVD's years ago and it gave me a run for my money! In the mean time, just find fun things to do until you come across the home program that works for you!

Allrightee folks! It's week ?@?!!?! Yes, I don't remember what week it is. I could look on a calendar... How about this - 3 weeks to go until the deadline. How are all of you doing? If you don't think you'll finish the challenge, don't dispare! I am starting a new challenge April 1st. Get everything in order, plan your program (food & exercise plan) and create that habit now so when we start, your ahead of the game!

GettingSlim: Do not do Insanity. They do have those moves and much, much more from what I've heard. Are you using braces on your knees when you work out? If not, I highly recommend you get them from your doc (he can order so really nice knee braces through your insurance). One workout that I've enjoyed is the rebok ball workout. It really worked my upper body and core. You get the DVD when you buy the ball, plus the instructor is wonderful! I also found a kickbutt core workout online that I recommend. As for cardio workouts, I stick to the more dance-like videos because that's what I like (zumba, for example). Continue to look around for cardio things that stay away from knee lunges (I know, harder said than done). If I come across anything, I'll post it! Here's the core workout:

No idea if I'll really lose a dress size because right now I'm still stagnant. I decided to step up my workouts so that I can burn 3500 cals a week.

Good job Camileva!

GettingSlim: Question on Insanity. I have bum leg/ knee and not allowed to do lunges or deep squats ( per surgeon). Is insanity full of those moves? Can some moves be modified? I'm looking for a kick butt workout DVD that I can do at home.

I would like to join your current challenge very late and keep up with your future challenges. I have been having a hard time with losing weight, but at the end of Jan I read some of Mary Shoman's books and it changed some things for me. I started a vitamin regimen that she recommended and my energy is up for the first time in 3 years. I have been drinking more water, eating healthier and yesterday I started back on my treadmill. I am down 5 pounds since the end of Jan, so I will see if I can get close to the 10 pound total by the end of March. I do like my sweets too, so that is my weakness. Thanks for starting the challenge!

It is week 9 friends! Keep plugging away. If you've fallen off the horse, like myself, get back up and try again. I am taking this week to reevaluate the past two months and see what worked, where I fell, and make a new plan. St. Patty's Day and Easter are around the corner, plan for that. The Easter bunny at our house usually brings lots of chocolate, but this year, hopefully we'll decrease that by a good amount so I don't consume all of it. RIght after Easter (April 1st), we'll start a new 3 month challenge. Keep your eyes open for a new thread popping up in a few weeks.

I need your feedback, everyone. We will start the challenge over again, but I was wondering, do you want to keep it a 3 month challenge? Should we have smaller one month goals to help us achieve the 3 month challenge? Should we move this challenge to the "Monthly Challenge" post area? What are your thoughts?

Count me in for continued challenge. I've just yo-yod this month too. I think I really need to get on thyroid med...having surgery on my elbow the 19th. Figured I pester my doc after that to check my thyroid levels again. I just don't want to wait until July like he said.

I'm still in this. I did loose almost a pound. It was a bit frustrating as I seemed to just yo-yo the whole month.

I still think my thyroid hormones are off, I won't have another appt till April now.

I have to think of better gifts than candy for St. Patricks Day (Pinterest here I come). Anywho, keep going friends. On a different note, who would like a new challenge come April 1st?

I actually have my goal set to almost the same thing! I will join ya! Keep me posted. I was hoping to be down about 12lbs by end of March! I started doing more of a new BMI challenge for myself. I have weekly or every two-week goal (further out the longer I give myself to reach next goal).

I'm sorry to all of you who have not had the best of weeks. I feel your pain! Here's a thought, what small change can you make everyday? Do something that will help you to feel good about yourselves. Valentines threw me off - that dang chocolate. It's just soooo good and now I have to fight the chocolate/sugar munchies. I was also really tired last week. This week will be better! Here's to week 7! Today, I'm going to get back to drinking a ton of water and maybe even do some exercises.

Managed to walk around 2 blocks (about 3/4 mile) with hubby yesterday. First time I've been able to walk since heart surgery so really feel great. Hopefully will be able to keep it up and make some progress!

It's week 6! Boy oh boy, it's week 6. If you started and then stopped, get back up on the horse! If you have been doing it, then continue with your progress. If you haven't even started, this is the perfect week to do it. Regardless of your goals (exercise more, eat better, etc...) this is a chance to change your lifestyle. Stop thinking it's a "diet" because it isn't. It's time to create new habits so you are a healthier you. YOU CAN DO IT!!! Hypothyroidism can take away that inner motivator. It's there. Dig deep. Even if it's just a little bit. Then change something for the better. COME ON GALS! WE CAN DO THIS.

Had a "weight" change and a massive case of the munchies this week :/
Super bloated and irritable. To be expected since I finally got my period after not having it since mid December. Tried everything I could to hold back the cravings, but gave in. Not weighing myself again until the bloating goes down.

A much better week for me. Got some exercise in and lost .5 lbs. not much but I will take it. I'm just glad the scale finally moved in a downward direction. 9.5 to go! I do wish I had gotten in more exercise but I'm battling the " too tired" effects. I don't know if I can wait another 5 months to get my thyroid tested again. Doc wanted to wait before putting me on meds. I'm really dragging most days :(

Another discouraging week for me - fluid has built up so my weight is up 4 lbs. Of course depression munching isn't helping any either. Not giving up - just hope that with new meds I'll have a better week next time!

Week 5 Day 5: No change in weight this week however I did do a full exercise today! I'm still sore though. I feel better. Still tired. Still a little sick. But motivated - I haven't had that feeling consistently in a long time. My meds must be spot on. I hope this lasts for a long time.

I feel stagnant in my weight loss.

I do feel my thyroid meds are off so I got an appt next week with my dr. Hopefully that will tell us something.

Look at you! Playtime, mom OT time, and then some exercise. What a great start to the day for you! My youngest was born 3 mon early and so we have lots of therapies during the week. It's challenging to do everything you want to do in a day!

Little one woke up just before 6 this morning. Yes, a lot of the time I grumble when he wakes up super early. But compared to the usual "early" this wasn't that bad. We had an hour worth of play, and Mommy OT, and then instead of being my usual "was up too early" lay-about we went for a nice morning walk before his "teacher" gets here :) Having this group and this dress size forum has given me that extra bit of support that I need when I try to talk myself out of things :) So .. thanks everyone! :)

I still haven't done my measurements. I didn't have a tailor's tape, so I printed out the SP measuring tape. Then realized after I'd cut it out and put it together that what is 12" on their tape isn't 12" on my ruler.

Next getting healthy purchase .. tailor's tape! (which of course means that once I've bought it and done my measurements I'll find my old one! :P
