Another thing I try to do is order foods with chicken (grilled!! no fried food!) or salads. Also, order water instead soda.
Also just watch for things that sound more fatty...things with cream sauces (which I love!) are really not so good.
There's an article (I've saved it as a fav on my page) that talks about eating out and words to watch out for.

LJ, can I call you LJ? At any rate the best solution that I have seen is the one that SP put out in an article once upon a time. When you order your food ask them to put half of your order in a doggy bag container. This is a surefire way of not over eating and you also have your next meal ready willing and able.

I am usually pretty good about eating at the dining hall. We have a salad bar and our portions are small (they probably still aren't as small as they should be though!!) But...I go home almost every weekend and hangout with my boyfriend who goes out to eat ALL the time. His mom never cooks and we go to restaurants everytime I'm home...which I love!!! But the problem is the food...Its so bad for you and they give you soo much and I usually eat most of what is put in front of me. (I have no will power!!!)Does anyone have any suggestions how to avoid this?
