LJCARPENTER: Wow, we drink fresca and vodka too!!! Very refreshing, no?
ALL: I struggle with this myself. I have gotten a few good drink ideas though, definitely vodka with fresca, but also enjoy vodka with crystal light (if you are drinking at home mix two shots vodka with crystal light in a giant nalgene bottle and it works perfectly! I add slices of starfruit to keep it fun and to give me something more healthy to snack on when I get buzzed). I also heard from a bartender to do vodka and water with a lime and add a sugar substitute pkg. This kind of counteracts the whole dehydration part since you are at least taking in water. :)
I definitely think drinking one tall glass of water between drinks helps and trying to avoid eating out afterwards is key...if you can at least go out with a friend who is also concerned about weight you can work together to avoid that temptation.
I agree with whoever posted the comment about eating healthy on a drinking day, but of course I learned the hard way that even that can't always save you. I went out a few months ago and really kept it low-key all day to save room for a sausage & beers at a ball game and ended up getting really really sick! I think the best plan is to eat healthy all day and then maybe have a slice or two of whole wheat toast (I love Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Bread) to fill up your stomach before you go out.

SEXYSHOPPER0214, haha I am with you... I have to try and avoid going out now... trouble for me! It wouldn't be so bad if it was just the drinks... but again with the drunk late night drive thru runs... lol.

oh yeah those drunk drive thru runs are soooo bad. Its been months since I've done that! I hardly drink now, but if I do anytime soon, I'm gonna need to learn to just have one or two "healthy" drinks and try not to get soooo drunk off my ass. But its sooo fun!! Its hard.
Definately only drink diet soda and vodka! also avoid late night drunk munchies, that's why I've gained weight! It's seriously hard not to go out to bars/drink in college but if you eliminate the drunk food that goes with the drinking that should help!

I actually don't drink, but alot of my friends like mixing vodka with peach fresca, or berry fresca, or just plain fresca. I tried some with the berry fresca and it was really good! You can hardly even taste the grapefruit. The plus to fresca is it doesn't have any calories, but it doesn't taste like diet pop. I don't think it has caffeine either.
I can't seem to avoid the temptation of goin out to the bars with friends. Especially because I work as a Bacardi Promotions Specialist, and a Malibu Promotions Specialist. Unfortunately this adds massive ammounts of calories to my day. Any suggestions for low-cal drinks or other techniques?
