Right away.. its a sense of accomplishment.. and then when you get the reward you feel good, and you can ride out on the momentum until the next milestone.. so take pride in reaching your goals, and reward yourself girl.. GOOD JOB! emoticon

It's ok to reward yourself immediately. You'll feel so good about reaching that goal that you'll strive harder to meet your next goals. It's a new motivator and that's why people do the rewards. Once you've reached the goal, it's ok to reap the reward.

I think you should at least give you a little prize for reaching your goal-that way you have motivation to keep hitting your other goals. You can make the first few rewards small & build up the more you lose.

I used to give myself mini rewards for every 10 pounds but I have now switched to 30, 40 and 50 pounds range.

Goals ♥ to lose at least 60 pounds by August
Motivation ♥ Looking hot next time I see my boyfriend
Reward ♥ Summer Caribbean Cruise with my man ♥

i've noticed a lot of people on this site have rewards for every milesone of weight loss. i decided to do this and i've hit my first mark. but i wonder, for those of you who do this, do you give yourself the reward right away or do you make yourself maintain the weight for a certain amount of time before getting the reward. i worry that the next time i weigh in i will have gained the weight back and then i'll feel worse because i already rewarded myself. also, if you do backslide do you re-reward yourself when you hit the goal again?

i am my own one woman show, melting before your eyes.
