I think it burns calories too!!! However, I read an article here on SparkPeople about why they count strength training like that. I believe the article is in their fitness section. It made sense, but I can't remember all the details.
I'm always think it is better to be active (whether doing aerobics or strength training) than it is to sit around and snack. We are moving in the right direction.
