hey, you could buy yourself 1kg weights in funny colours, or a pilates ball and just jump up and down like a child, or roll on it...my favourite exercise on ball is rolling...it's important to strengthen your CORE, because they hold your body!!!
I also lose faster when I combine strength training with my cardio routine. However, don't be afraid to lift as heavy as you can! I think the rule of thumb is that if you're struggling as you get to your 8-10th rep, it's a good weight for you. As I continued to do strength training, I began to see the definition in my biceps and quads and I'm loving it. Now I just have to work on my triceps and abs!
I just read an article on this today. It said that after cardio your metabolism increases to burn fat for the next half hour, but if you include strength training your metabolism is higher for two hours after. So you burn more fat for longer.
I found that adding some strength training just to tone while doing cardio worked well for me. If you keep the reps higher and the weight low, it will help to tone your muscles while you are losing the weight with the cardio. I found it made me feel better about myself when I was able to notice the firming of the muscle and that kept my motivational level higher.

Persevere. The harder the climb, the greater the view will be when you get to the top.
Hey everyone!! I need to lose quite a bit of weight and have been doing so by doing LOTS of high intensity cardio almost daily. I want to lose the fat so my muscle will show... so I haven't really been doing weight lifting. I've noticed when I gain muscle bulk, it pushes out my fat and makes me look larger. I figured when I lose more fat on top I will up my weight lifting. However, have any of you noticed that there is DEFINITELY a difference/lose faster/body becomes more fit quicker when doing both simultaneously? Thanksss!!
