I'm sorry this was a waste of 20 dollars.
I think the fact that it is a weight (maybe 2 lbs) and you can still do dumbell excercises with it is it's only saving grace.
It does come with a video but really after 2 times it seemed silly. It may have motivated me to try something stronger too so that was good too.

Are you living your true life or the life others want you to live?

I tried it a few times and found it to work a bit Not as much as I hoped it would but it is something new and different even if it looks funny.

I guess its my inner-twelve-year-old boy snickering, but I can't take the thing seriously. I just see the SNL skit for it in my head every time I hear the name of the thing.

I don't think it's a very effective dumbbell. The commercials tout it as one of those exercise without putting in any effort. It just looks like you're wanking someone off.

I'm not sure if I could get past how funny it looks to use them! However they do look like they would work, but if you already have a set of dumbells its probably not worth spending more money when you could get the same results.

A friend of mine has one and she swears by it! She says her arms hurt for days after using it the first time. I have played with them at the store, and don't really think it is heavy enough for me. I am kind of a manly built girl with natural strength and it just didn't seem like it would be enough weight to give me an effective workout! I even tried the man one. Might wait until the price drops and give it a try. LOL or until I find one cheap at a thrift store!! : )

I have one and you can feel the burn for sure. It was a Christmas present. I should use it more though.

ok.... watched the youtube video of this and I am not sure it is a weight I want to waste my money on. I think I can get just as good of a workout with my hand weights that I have already.

You can find it at Walgreens. I saw it in the store the other day. If I remember correctly, it was around $20-$25. I don't know how much they are selling it for on TV.

Thanks for the video. I have seen this before but do not always trust the info ads on things like this. I will consider when it is needed.

I haven't tried it but I searched amazon.com and there are 19 reviews from those who have used the Shaker Weight - both good and bad. You should also be able to find reviews on the Consumer Digest or Consumer Report web sites.

I've seen this thing in Target. Don't think it's any different or any better than free weights. Looks like just another gadget.

I was wondering the same thing? I have no idea. I saw a commercial for the Ellen Show and she was using it, but no results on how it works! It was just a commercial.

Has anyone had any experience with the new Shaker weight. Does it appear any different than just using regular dumbbells??
