I track on paper-have done it for a couple of months & it seems 2nd nature. I only use Pts + -keeps it simple. Things are kinda hectic for me - sev changes daily & usually am not able to plan for all day at this time. :)

Thats is what I do also. Stick to points and then alot of times my calories will be over on SP but points will be okay for WW.
I just stick to my points sometimes my points will match my calories that sp has set up for me.

Maybe try a happy medium or which do you loose best with SP calories or WW Points? Only you can make this decision. You will know which one is right for you. If I did not use SP to track with I probably would not track because I hate to write everything down. Once your food is all set up it works slick and then I use my totals for the WW tracking. You can always find WW recipes on SP because many of the WW team members have already figured them out and you can just save them to your nutrition tracker.

I agree MSKRIS7 that the SP tracker beats logging food in a paper journal.

OK so I have been doing my WW points plus which is working well, HOWEVER when I am in my points range I normally don't meet my calorie and all the other recommendations from sparkpeople.

I calculated all my points for the past week. The points do show higher since pointsPlus are calculated on all fruits & veges. But this is ok with me. Staying within SP calorie range keeps me within the points range. So far so good.
This might work a bit more accurately with the old points calculator and targets because there were no zero point fruits & veges.
Nevertheless, it is very helpful to me and now I can go to meetings and at least talk about points!

Thanks QUERIDAANA & MSKRIS7!!! Heading over to my tracker to check it out now! I KNEW there was a reason I invested in the points calculator!

The reason I like to do it using SP is because I do not like to write down my food in a journal. It is much easier for me to use SP setting up your foods in the nutrition section and you are set to go. I plan my meals first thing in the am and then I can adjust my meals accordingly through out the day. I also down load my meals to a spread sheet on my computer and I can take them with me.

Actually it was QUERIDAANA that figured it out. Go to your Start page, then open nutrition, then go to bottom right side and open change nutrition goals. When that page opens you need to add carb, protein, fats and fiber as a nutrition goal. As you plan your days meals the totals will add up on the left bottom of nutrition page. Then take your Weight Watcher points plus calculator to calculate your points for the day.
I hope I explained that well enough for people to understand.

How did you do it? I am confused trying to make my SP nutrition page with my ww points plus. I have my calculator and all that I just can't figure out how to change it on here.

I have figured out how to incorporate the 26 points for a goal/daily. Now if we can figure out how to figure in the 49 points weekly on the start page that would be great.
I give all the credit to you. Congratulations Can't wait to share this at WW on Thursday.
You are a genius !! I changed my nutrition to track fiber, carbs, fats and protein and wella!! Then you just use your WW calculator and you can do your points. Excellent!!
You are saying that you have total, carbs, fats, protein, etc on your sp nutrition and then alls you have to do is enter those totals and calculator. I will give that a try. Thanks

I have my nutrition tracker set up so that it gives me the totals that I need to calculate points. I just enter the totals in to my weight watcher calculator and it gives me the points for a whole day.
This week though I have not been tracking because I am going dairyless and meatless (Fuhrman diet) to detox. It is working. Already cleared up my lungs a little.
It's the journey. We can do this.

MsKris,
Thanks for your post. I love the idea about meal planning using points. Now if I could only get myself into meal planning mode. That is my next step. I'm so torn between keeping things simple but not so simple that I lose my way toward my goal.
I'm going to make that my next step and at least if I plan meals using the points, I'll know I'll be within range on SP and WW.
I have posted my ww points in the past on the memo, or notes part of the tracker but it was a lot of work. but maybe.....

What I am going to start doing is put the point value where the calories go. I have asked SP to make a place on the nutrition page for the people who want to track their points.

ruby, I haven't figured out a way to use the points system using SP Web, so what I have been doing is printing out my daily food and then hand writing in the points. I can't afford the online WW etools. My insurance company pays for one or the other. Meetings or online and i like to have the people interaction of the meetings and then use SP for everything else. I did find out though that when you reach lifetime member with WW you receive the online etools at no cost. I am terrible with journaling so I do everything with SP and then print it out. I like to set my meals up a day ahead. I also purchased the points calculator and I love it. I take it to the grocery store with me. Have a great day and thanks for asking. If anyone can figure out a easier way I am open to it. mskris

So do you track both the points and in SP?
I bought a points calc and have etools for a month but have not signed up for it yet because I already spend significant time here.

I do the meetings because my insurance pays for either but I like the group interaction. I finally got my nutrition all set up with SP. With WW online you get all that meal planning with the points factored in. I did purchase the Points calculator. It sure is handy.

I like using the SP tracker and did not purchase the points calculator (maybe a bad idea?). In the past I calculated the old points and put them on my diary on the tracker but it became cumbersome when I realized that the SP calculations kept me on track as well.
Anyone else using meetngs just to weigh in? (I also buy the yummy snack bars and I enjoy the meetings).

What some people do is put the point value in where the calories go.Some people will put the total daily points in the note area under the tracker.

Yes I know what you mean. I like to keep it simple also. I can't use WW etools because I attend the regular meetings and my insurance pays for it so if I want etools I would have to pay for that and right now with my budget I can't do that. Maybe someday SP will try to incorporate a space for the points. It would seem so simple for a programer to add that little column. Talk To Ya Later
Kristi~ I've asked that same question, but have received no answers. I think it would be very difficult since we don't eat the same amounts of proteins, carbs, etc on any given day. I've tracked my intake after the fact, but I just don't want to take the time on a daily basis. Maybe once per week, just to analyze where I'm consuming too much of this,or not getting enough of that. Let me know if you have any brainstorms. I really want to keep my program as simple as possible.I subscribe to WW e-tools,and,IMHO,the SP database is, by far, more exhaustive.

Has anyone been able to use the SP Nutrition page and be able to set up your Points plus somewhere on the page also??
