this is very important - my latest bone scan shows I have 3-5% bone loss, my Dr. says even though I do everything right, sometimes after menopause this happens, so I make sure I also take my calcium supplements. Next year we will do another scan to see what happens.

Give beans a chance. Beans and legumes also boast calcium...30 to 160 mg per 1 - cup serving. Add them to soups, stews, salads and pastas to boost your bone health.

I do not take supplements. I track my calcium on my nutrition tracker and I get all the calcium I need.

So far I only take a multi-vitamin. I do eat plenty of fresh greens and drink my milk. I do try to get my quota of calcium daily! I have it on my tracking chart!

Consider a calcium supplement. Look for the form calcium citrate, which is best-absorbed by the body. But don't rely on supplements alone. It's best to get bone-building nutrients from foods.

Go fish! Both salmon and shrimp are good sources of vitamin D. Fish also contains calcium: 325mg in 3 oz. of sardines and 180 mg. in 3 oz of salmon, for example.

I've been jumping rope! But I don't think I'm going to make it a staple!

Good for you MIMZy with using the resistance band. Great exercise equipment.

I've been doing some resistance band stuff with the boot camp. Who knows...maybe I'll keep it up after it's over.
I do drink milk! I get in my recommended daily allowance of calcium every day without supplements.
I don't have a doctor.emoticonBut I am planning on getting one this summer, so maybe I will ask him about the medication. I'm not very good about taking pills though.

Ask about medication. Prescription medication can both treat and prevent osteoporosis. Talk to your doctor to see if you're a good candidate for these bone-enhancing drugs.
