I am new to diabetes also ans I am on Metformin but the only side effect I had was the runs

Hi Liz. Sorry I do not know and I do hope you are better.
A word of advice...Any time you have an Urgent question, Call Urgent Care.
They surely would know more than us.
PLEASE go to the Managing Diabetes Group Team and become a member of that team. I'll send you an invitation.
This team (Newly Diagnosed ) is VERY Inactive. The MDG! Team is full of knowledgeable and helpful members that are always glad to help.

and i hope somebody is here online that can maybe give me some guidance. I started Metformin Wed. morning. I take 2000 mg's a day. Tonight I have a fever of 101F degrees, and I'm tired and achy. I read that these are some serious side effects requiring attention. HOWEVER, I also work in a medical clinic and I did ZUMBA both yesterday and Wed. but not today, so those two factors could be the problem instead of a reaction.
Does anybody know how I know when to go to Urgent Care?
