It really is sad. Farrah, though we knew about her situation, was way to young at 62. You cannot help but admire her for how she conducted herself through this disease. Wanting to reach out and show people what cancer actually does to you, knowing she wouldn't look pretty was so self-less. She really is an angel. But Michael's death was just a shock for everyone. That man could dance and sing like crazy, couldn't he? I was watching some of his videos on tv this morning and am still amazed at how he could move. I don't think there will ever be anyone who can control their movements the way he could. It's actually more than dancing, but I have no idea what to call it. He will be missed, but his legendary self will live on.

Hi Julie, Glad you had a great time. I can't tell you the last time I fished and I do miss it. Maybe I'll get to go during vacation to Houston. There isn't anything better than fresh fish. And the snacks you are exactly right about. I doubt many of us could stay on track if we didn't treat ourselves. The key is finding the right kind of snack and you found a great one. I like those too. I always try to keep some sugar-free jello or pudding on hand for the same reason. You have to wait for the jello to set but the instant pudding is ready in a jiff. Anyone else want to jump in on the great snack debate? We all have our favorites. Anybody? Becky
Hello everyone! I am back from my vacation - went to Canada fishing with friends of mine from Florida - they have a cabin up there so fished for 4 days - had fantastic visit and ate lots of fish!
I do give myself a treat - we bought fat free fudgcicles from the Schwann man - only 50 calories and it satisfies my chocolate and ice cream cravings! If I had to give up treats totally, I would not be able to stay motivated!
How is everyone doing today? Hope things are going great. Does anyone struggling with anything? Have any good news?
I do have one question for everyone. Are you strict on your food program or do you allow for an occasional "forbidden" food from time to time? Personally I think it is easier to stay on track if you either reward yourself those foods or work them in on occasion, say like once or twice a week. My treat for myself this week is ice cream. I bought the frozen yogurt kind and also bought some of those wafer type cones (not the waffle style). The cones only have 20 calories and making a small cone makes it a very small serving. The cone makes it just a fun way to eat it. Especially since it is so hot. I only reward myself with this when my numbers are good and I'm doing well on my program. Haven't actually eaten any yet but hoping today I can work it in. I look forward to hearing your stories. Have a great day! Becky
HI everyone, Well after being without the internet for a few days I am finally back up and running. We had issues with (forgive me, I am not a computer wizard) either the ether net or whatever that box is you connect up with your DSL. My DH does all that type of work around here but he has been the project manager for his company (Binswanger Glass)out at the new Cowboy Stadium and he has been working 14 hour days! He finally got a little breather last night and was able to come home at the regular time. They still have a couple of more weeks to work out there. You know the George Strait concert that is being held there this weekend? Well, DH said that there were all sorts of workers still running around out there trying to finish there work: floor people, painters, electricians, plumbers, etc. He said it was crazy out there. The problem for them was that a couple of weeks ago, a new set of plans (at least for them) showed up and there were changes on there that no one discussed with them. Also had more work added with no extension in the deadline. Wouldn't surprise me if it was that way for everyone. But I am sure the show will continue no matter what.
It was a great weekend - I got my whole list of chores done!! I also got a stained glass project completed - I always feel so good when things work out and I can mark them off my list - now to work on the next thing - cleaning out the shed in the back yard! It has been a few years since I've done it - things are so piled up in there it's unreal! Have a great day!!
yes I hope the weather holds up. With my allergies and asthma hope I'm out there long enough to get something done. I love the smell of fresh cut grass, I'm surprised it doesn't make me sneeze. Have a great weekend!
I am hoping to work in my yard all weekend as well - I have been so lazy lately when I get home - so I haven't gotten anything done. Plus my DH hurt himself last weekend so he is not supposed to walk at all except to get up to go to the bathroom and go to bed - so I will be on my own for getting work done. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!
