My husband drives a truck for a living and likes for my children and I to go with him in the summer. But now with the diabetes, meds and staying on a schedule for meals is very challenging on the road. I get nasty and mean when my sugar gets low and hate the fact I take it out on them. Wish he would be more understanding and not get offended when I don't want to go.
Great question and posting idea, Theresa! I had a hard time answering this in a way. I tend to not plan my meals like I should and then the time factor gets in the way, but my main issue is I am still trying to figure out what I can and cannot eat. About the time I think I know, my bs readings get inconsistent with me again. I'm asking my doctor to send me to a dietitian/nutritionist next visit and also looking more into the glycemic index of foods until then.
