MARGARET! Woo Hoo! You hit on it when you spoke about a little bit though the day. It does add up and your body loves it. Waiting in lines or anyplace, I will do some calf lifts or something and it helps. It's funny too because I've had people come up to me and say, "I know what you're doing!" "That's great!" All of us are special. I say embrace it and be the best you can be. The journey is forever. Thanks for sharing.

I have a tough schedule and am always having a hard time working fitness in so I hear ya. It's hard. I don't know that I've learned much, but when I went through a really difficult patch I got a cheap used stationary bike and biked while drinking my coffee in the morning, biked on my lunch break. I just got 10 mins in here and there but by the end of the day, it made me feel good to see 35 mins total for the day.

I also joined the Humane Society as a dog walker just so I'd have to get some walking in. It's more intense than a walk what with the leash pulling so this has helped a lot.

I joined a 24 hr gym and that's helped a lot with my erratic schedule.

the total gym is a good investment for somebody who's tired and busy. It isn't as good as a weight machine workout, but it's great for stretching and offers some slight strength benefit. It's relaxing so I like it.

I run and hate it when I don't have time... so I'm going to pick a hill near my house and am going to start doing hill drills, 10 mins here and there. That ought to help.

Good luck!

It's easy for me. I look at my priorities. Tracking my nutrition, doing my cardio and strength training are primary. My wife does the same. Here's what I think of when I see an opportunity to slack. THIS is the cold hard question. Do I want to see my wife and my granddaughter tomorrow? Then I have to do everything I'm supposed to do today. I make the right choices in priorities. It's hard to look at life that way but it's a reality check of the highest order. THAT's why I continue to be successful in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This is a life journey.

Start with small steps and break it up. I try very hard to get up early enough to get some sort of workout in, just in case the afternoon/evening fail me. Maybe start by getting up 15 mins earlier, do 15 mins worth of whatever you can/want to. Then add 5 mins each week? We all are different and have different plans that work for us. Just do your best and you will make it! Good Luck!

Well, this is what I'm planning to do
* get my exercise space clear - I'm more likely to exercise when I keep that space clear
* write out my plan for exercise this week and spend time with MY goals - nobody else's just mine. That seems to work for me
*plan to eat on an excellent level for my goal achievement at least 2 days this week. I'm looking to start a discipline and gradually do a take over, mwah ha ha emoticon
* set a timer and do 10-30 minutes on any area that is bugging me - practicing music, cleaning, reading, bill pay, etc. That way I can feel like I'm moving forward and unlocking the confines of "the shoulds"

hey I think I just wrote my blog! I'm gonna copy and paste. Thanks for the inspiration!

Best of effort to you!

Hello my fellow sparkers!
I am very ashamed to say I have been the absent leader. Life's challenges have kept me away. But not only that.. have sidetracked me from my real focus.. which is losing my weight. I cannot fathom being any bigger than I am.. so alas i have returned to find the strength of my fellow sparkers and launch the biggest crusade of my whole life. Which is geting my life and body back.

I am sure most of us struggle with time and trying to fit it all in.. so how do we do it? How do we make it work? How do we find the strength to keep from falling back on bad habits.

I have been eating ok for the most part.. but certainly not the best. I seem to have no time for working out.. so i call upon my spark friends for some advice and help.

i am glad to be back.. i cant tell you how happy i am to be back here and be around the best support system there is.

I will NEVER give up.. to give up is to quit.. and thats just NOT me.. Besides.. I have the best reason in the world to get fit and healthy.. not only for my family and kids.. but the love in my life.. and i am getting married next year. so its time to take care of myself.. so i will look awesome on my wedding day....

So my spark friends.. tell me of some things that help you.. i plan on putting any hints to good use...

I have missed our group and i am just glad to be returning to a place that understands my struggles....

Group Hug!!!!! emoticon
