AGREED- thats why I am so focused right now- because I think being in great shape before pregnancy- will keep me motivated and healthy during and after- I know women who have worked out for 6 months before and during and they stayed on track during and barely gained weight.

I just bought this INSANITY which is totally just cardio kick but workouts... and I plan on getting good results- on top of carb cycling - it will be fun and I am excited for the results- cuz ITS HARD WORK! I love it!

Thank you LADY ROSE

Couldn't tell you about the pregancy fat cell thing (I have kitties, not kids ;), but I'm thinking it's like everything else: every one is different.

There are plenty of ladies in the figure competitions who would disagree with the fat not going away.

Thing to keep in mind is, the better shape you're in before you get pregnant (which your focus now) the better shape you'll stay in during and afterwards.

Wow... Joni, you're a machine, darlin!

But I agree totally with Jess - on your intense days, make sure you get more starches - bread, oatmeal, potatoes - at least for your pre & post workout snacks.

Bonking is baaaad! badbadbad!

And as an FYI - For your long runs, I've heard great things about coconut water and the Clif "Shot Rocks" & "Shot Gel" www.clifbar.com/food/products_shot_gel/ to keep your energy up. Clif products are fantastic for being very 'clean'.

When you become pregant, I would just eat clean like you mentioned. As for now, there shouldn't be any reason why you can't carb cycle.

I am not pregnant, but plan on one day becoming pregnant. Someone told me I shouldnt do carb cycling because I could get pregnant, and not know it and do damage... :) I think it may take me a while to actually get pregnant- since I have been on birth control for a long time! :)

I appreciate your opionion. I wont be dieting at all when I am prego- I do plan however to continue to eat clean and only add about 200 more cals then I am eating now- (I eat 1500-1950 every day- I'd eat more like 1950-2300 when I am prego... Doctors approval - of course!

ANyhow- The insanity is just intense workouts- I have seen your blogs and seen how hard your working- so I assumed I would be ok- but I thought I'd ask. I think Shaun T is just saying no to diets like adkins and such where I just go days and days and weeks and weeks on very low carbs... ?

I am very glad for your feedback! THANK YOU!

I am starting INSANITY tomorrow- !! I was gonna wait til after my 1/2 marathon- but I thought- why wait, I will just get started and do my thing!!! I am gonna keep going with the carb cycling- and of course make sure I am eating enough based on how many cals I am burning (I have a bodybugg- so I like to keep my deficit between 500-1000)

#1. I'm no expert but cutting carbs out is not the best way to nourish yourself or a growing baby! (Carb cycling is a great way to lose BF and LOOK better... but when pregnant, weight loss is NOT the goal!) I'm sure that dieting in general is frowned upon while pregnant! (However, eating clean and balanced is not a problem!)

#2. I don't know much about this "Insanity" workout... however, I assume that what I am doing right now (competition prep.) is just as intense (if not more demanding)... so YES, you'll be fine!
For me, the first time I dropped my complex carbs I bonked but if you have been able to cycle for a while and feel good then this workout shouldn't change anything!

GOOD LUCK!

#1 can you carb cycle and be pregnant?? Someone told me no- I am not YET... but was just wondering...

And #2 I am starting INSANITY with Shaun T and they suggest not going low carb- now since I only do about 2 days low one high, shouldnt I be ok??? Your thoughts PLEASE!!! :)
