If you use flax seed, only leave a small portion out at a time and store the rest in the fridge. Flax goes rancid fairly quickly, and even faster if it's already ground. I'd recommend buying whole seeds and grinding just enough for a couple of days.

I use ground flax seed as it provides more protein and fiber.

...Kashi is a great cereal, good fiber... add a lean protein to that like boiled egg whites, scrambled egg whites,etc... and it will prevent a spike in your blood sugar and keep your glucose levels balanced... that is the key to carb cycling...

If you are carb cycling, eat all of your carbs before 3:00 and all should be the good "complex carbs"...

For breakfast: "Fitgirl has excellent examples of breakfast"... but you can also add the following:

... steel cut oatmeal, you can add natural protein powder to up the protein

... sugar-free yogurt, add protein powder

... 1% cottage cheese and 1/2 cup of fresh fruit, like strawberries, mango, orange, apples, etc...

... and as Fitgirl suggests, "be creative"... use foods from the "good complex carb" list...

Typically whenn following a low carb diet, breakfast SHOULD be the only meal with carbs in it!

However, you have many options to eat breakfast without carbs too...
-Cottage cheese Dry curd (regular cottage cheese and most other dairy HAS carbs in it!)
-eggs (hardboiled, make an omlette or however else you like em!)
-chicken breast with veggies (I add salsa and cheese!)

Get creative

School is about to close for me and I would like to start eating low carb. I usually eat kashi cereal but I want to eat something else for breakfast.

Does anyone has any ideas of a no carb or low carb breakfast?
