Sorry I've been AWOL for a few days. Spent part of the time in the hospital for dehydration and to get control of vomiting/dry heaves. The final diagnosis is a burst ovarian cyst. I side pain and dry heaves were unbelievable. I'm okay now, just very tired and weak.

Donna ~ Your kitchen sounds great. It will be a good feeling when it is completely done.

Been working on the kitchen remodel. Painting done last week. Yesterday put down new vinyl tile. Today going to my aunts to pickup drawer pulls & knobs for the cabinets & she's also giving me a microwave cart that has doors on the bottom for storage. Woohoo, my kitchen is coming together, only thing left is to get the moulding put down & then put new decos & kitchen towels.

I drank a large glass of my aloe juice & cranberry juice cocktail before bedtime. Must have helped the throat. It was only a little scratchy this morning, but nothing like yesterday. Brrr, it got much colder than forecasted. I'm glad I remembered to leave the faucets dripping otherwise we may have had frozen pipes this morning. It was 15 degrees @ 7 when I was leaving for work. We are supposed to warm up to 47 today with sunshine. Tonight will be warmer than last night, supposed to only drop to 36 & start warming back to the upper 60s by the weekend. And yes I did remember my coat today. emoticon

We aren't supposed to get snow, just really cold weather.

Busy day at work then had a long drive home. Had to take the long way around adding 20 miles to my route as the bridge was closed to highway traffic due to a possible jumper. It seems law enforcement was able to talk him down, hopefully he can get some help for whatever made him/her think jumping was the only solution to the problem(s).
The soup was good & soothing to my scratchy throat, I sure hope I'm not about to get sick, but there are so many fighting colds & pneumonia. I'm trying to stay well.

Colder weather always makes me crave hot soup! We dropped from 66 to 36 one day last week. Now, it's in the 30s and supposed to be in the low teens for most of next week. The first snowfall is happening right now. It's beautiful to look out in but I'm looking forward to going to the store later today. We have about 4 inches and it's still falling.
Maybe I'll make soup, too.

Sheila, I was pleasantly surprised the colors matched so well together & it also makes the kitchen look much brighter.

The weather is going to be a little weird today. Supposed to reach 71 but then showers & windy conditions will drop temps down to the 40's by night time. I have a crockpot of homemade veggie beef soup cooking so supper will be warm & simple.

I think Mexican is my favorite food! It's great that you enjoyed your dinner and had the pleasant surprise of someone paying for it. What a nice thing to do.
I like the color scheme you are putting in your kitchen. I'm going to be buying a condo in the spring and I want to stay with lighter shades when I have it painted.

Had the Camerones Al De Mojo at the restaurant which is grilled shrimp over a bed of Jasmine rice & garnished with Avocado chunks. Very tasty. I must admit the best part of the meal was getting up to the register to pay & realizing that one of our church members who was in there with her granddaughter had paid for our meal already, how nice of her to do that.

Heading home to work on laundry now, need to get my grocery list written out & then head back to church later.

Sheila, bundle up & stay warm as you get your running around done.

Yesterday we completed Phase 1 of the Kitchen Redo. We did finish the painting. We actually put the 1st coat of paint on Friday night but then got up yesterday @ the walls had a pale pink hue about them. That's just not going to do, I'm not a lover of the color pink to start with, definitely not for my kitchen. So back to Lowes we went, I picked out a light beige color & we put a coat over the Pink paint & it looks great now, Kenny trimmed the moldings, windows & door frames with a camel color. I love the brightness of the kitchen now, looks great. We did pick up the new stove & have it stored in the garage til we can get the new floor down, hopefully that can be done one evening after work. I worked muscles I didn't know I had. LOL. Every part of my body ached so bad when I went to bed, ended up taking 4 motrin & sleep like a baby. Feeling great this morning, other than a slight achy hip, but that's about norm..

Heading to church & then stopping for Mexican cuisine afterwards. This afternoon I need to work on laundry since I didn't get it done yesterday.

Have an emoticon day.

No, actually I was sitting a lot & riding in the vehicle. I get them on occasion, but thankfully this was a mild case. I don't eat bananas often as they aren't the best choice with m diabetes.

Ran some errands & lunch, still trying to decide on where to purchase flooring, aiming for a good price.

Donna ~ Were you standing a lot yesterday or walking on hard surfaces? That's when I get charley horses during the night. My doctor advised me to start taking a magnesium supplement every other day and it has really helped. I told my brother that and he checked with his doctor. It was okayed and now he takes it and doesn't have them as much either.
I need to start eating bananas. I don't know why I don't buy them more because I like them. I like to freeze them and then put them in the food processor to get a banana "ice cream" and I also blend them into smoothies.
I've had 3 "bad" days and need to get back on track. I know a lot of it has been emotional and I'm regressing back to old pre-holiday behaviors. I've also had to attend to funerals this week and that always makes me feel sad and, once again, I've been treating my sadness with food. I'm also discovering that my willpower, as little as it is, totally disappears when I'm hurting. This colder weather is doing me in and it's not really even winter yet!
Enjoy your day.

Sheila, the activity on this thread is up & down. I guess this may be a busy time for most.
Glad you mom got her mustard, it's the little things like that that can make us happy.

Got to bed later last night since we had Bible Study at church. But at least I was able to sleep better for the most part except for when Mr. Charley Horse decided to visit. Guess I need to walk over to the grocery store & get a bunch of bananas as they seem to help put the potassium back to eliminate those horrible charley horses. Josh did a great job on the ceiling. I think our plan is to start painting the walls tonight after work, hopefully we can get one coat on the entire kitchen & then a 2nd coat tomorrow night so we can work on the floor Saturday.

Well gotta run, hope you all have an awesome day.

Gee, Donna, are we the only ones who are chatting on this thread? Didn't it used to be more active? Yes, Mom got her mustard and is happy now. I took her to get her hair done today. No plans for tomorrow so maybe I'll have time to get some things done here at home!

Sheila, thanks for the heads up about the cataract & possible blurriness. I will mention that to DH. Were you able to get the mustard for your mom? I know my dad still hits Hot, Hot peppers. He puts the vinegar on his cooked greens but eats the peppers like candy. LOL.

Today wasn't too bad at the office, got a lot of organizing done, & catching up on some other projects. I picked out some samples for the wall paint & DH likes both, we will use the lighter one for the wall & the slightly darker one for the trim work & painting the cabinets. We actually are going to let DS paint the ceiling for us Wednesday so he can make some extra money, it's a win win situation for both of us since it's dark before we get home & the lights will need to be off when the ceiling is spraypainted.

Good morning, all,
It's a sunny and bright morning. I promised my mom I'd take her to a local orchard this afternoon but not for apples. They have jars of mustard she loves. The name of it is HOT, HOT, VERY HOT Mustard. That's actually on the label and she puts it on every sandwich she makes. I guess she has a cast-iron 86 year-old stomach. I think we'll stop at a local restaurant for a late lunch or early dinner. She says she's craving cabbage rolls and this restaurant, Lukity's, has the best around.
Enjoy your day.
Sheila

Donna ~ I've had cataract surgery on both eyes and what a difference it makes!!!! I've had no problems but tell him if he notices any blurriness that a film can sometimes grow over the lens. It's a very minor and quick laser treatment to get it taken care of. I drove home immediately after it was done. It's not common but does happen.
What fun - redoing your kitchen! I've always rented so have never had the chance to do that.

Sheila, he did have cataract surgery. What a difference the surgery has made in his vision.
Yum your meal plans for the day sound very good, planning is the way to map out for a successful day. Woohoo on reaching day 10 of your Healthy Restart, you are doing great.

Good morning ladies, had a much better night's sleep. The headache is still lingering, but at least for now it's not as intense & affecting my vision like yesterday. We have decided to go ahead with our kitchen remodel plan. Our house is an old one, probably about 60 years old & has the out dated wallpaper from the 70s, you know the big gold & orange flowers. I'm so done with looking at that. I stopped by Lowes this morning, they have a $10 rebate on Valspar paint, perfect timing. I went ahead & picked up the paint & supplies for the ceiling. Then tonight Kenny & I need to choose a wall color, probably will go with a light neutral color something that would blend well with whatever color scheme we use. THen we have to decide on what kind of flooring, so I guess we have a busy week cut out for us. LOL.

Hope everyone has a great day

Good morning!

Yes, Donna. We've been having our normal fall into winter weather. It's in the 40s today, 50s tomorrow, and 60s on Tuesday BUT 36 and snow showers on Thursday! The nights have been cold and the furnace seems to kick on every hour or so. I'm glad things are good with your husband's eye. Did he have cataract surgery or another kind? Sometimes I can walk and have no pain; other times it's all I can do to move my leg after a short walk. I've found that Aleve PM helps me sleep better than anything else I've tried. I only take 1 tablet instead of 2 and I do wake up during the night BUT go right back to sleep. I think I'm going to put a chicken breast in the slow cooker with about a quarter cup of marinara sauce. I'll have it and a salad for dinner tonight. Lunch is going to be a veggie black bean burger (no bun), roasted cauliflower, and sliced tomatoes. At least those are the plans.

I hope everyone else is getting the new week off to a good start! I'm feeling good today - Day 10 of my restart (I'm still hesitant about using the word streak).
Enjoy your day!
Sheila

Didn't sleep well, keep tossing & turning, waking up all through the night. You would have thought all that walking yesterday would have helped me sleep. LOL. Have a bit of a headache this morning. I have lunch cooking --pork roast with potatoes & cream of mushroom in the slow cooker, have cooked the cabbage & creamed corn & will warm up the leftover yams from last night's supper. Today I will focus on finishing the laundry & hope to try a short walk after lunch to see how my foot handles it. Have a great day.

Sheila, you already have winter coat weather? Wow,and we are still have temps near the 70s. I keep waiting for some cooler weather so I can make some homemade soup, LOL.

Kenny's eye appointment went well, I'm so thankful for that. We did some Christmas shopping, did actually buy much as we couldn't find what we were looking for but at least we are getting started finally. I'm usually done by now but this year we are just now starting. LOL.

Hello everyone,
I'm late stopping by today. I can't seem to get up much energy. I've laid around and read all day. I guess it's my day to "recharge," but I am going to get in my 5000 steps before I give up for the day.
Sheila

Donna ~ I'm already missing steaks on the grill now that cold weather is setting in. My neighbors had a bonfire/hotdog & marshmallow roast last night. We all sat around the fire in our winter coats, hats, and gloves with blankets wrapped around our legs. A good time was had by all but it was the last of the season.
I pushing to get in my 5000 steps today. My legs and feet are aching but I know it's something I have to be consistent about doing.

Just being on my feet in general is painful, my inserts do help.

I didn't get to have lunch with my DD & her kids yesterday. We had a staff member leave early so I had to stick around at the office. At least they got to visit a bit with me. My coworkers al passed Kyleigh around getting her sugars. After dealing with that horrible Friday night commute home, it's double what the other nights are, DH had supper cooked, or should I say breakfast ---Virginia Ham, scrambled eggs & fried potatoes. It was the perfect end to a busy day.
We are out early heading to DH's eye appointment to see if his eye has completely healed from the surgery & find out what glasses he will need if any. Then will go get some breakfast & get started on some Christmas shopping later. We decided we are dining in for supper at home, steaks on the grill with salad & baked sweet potatoes. Yum.

Donna ~ I hope you get to enjoy a visit with your Grandson! Tell him happy birthday from me.
Does on the hard floors at the mall make your feet hurt worse? I tried walking at a local mall last winter and only lasted 3 mornings. My knee pain and swelling were much worse than ususal. I even have problems if I spend much time at the grocery store. Those floors really cause me problems. I’m much better to walk outside or a trail or asphalt.

ITSMESHE, emoticon on waking up feeling good, that's awesome start to your day. I typically have to take motrin most every night to alleviate the foot pain from my plantar faciitis & bunion. Last night was one of those nights as I didn't get to relax any before bed, it was a long day of being on the go. That's great that you have an alternative to outdoor activity for the rainy or cold days.

After work, went & did some shopping at the mall, lots of steps I made, of course my foot reminded me of that, yelling with pain. I went home & made the carrot cake for my office manager's birthday party today & then after taking motrin for foot pain, I slept like a charm. Feeling great today, best part is I may get to see my handsome little grandson, Brandon. His mom is stopping my the office as she will be town to take him out for a late birthday lunch, perhaps I can clear my schedule & join them. emoticon He turned 8 on the 2nd.

Good morning ~
I woke up in a good mood this morning and feel like I’m finally moving forward! I did ST yesterday (the first time in a long time) and do have some minor aches and pains but I know they’ll go away with more exercise. I went through the Spark exercise library and selected 10 exercises to do today. It’s raining and cold here so I’ll be walking inside - that works because I’ll walk a couple circuits of the apartment and then do one of the exercises and then walk, exercise, walk, exercise... until I have in my step-goal (5000) and the exercises done.
Enjoy your day.
Sheila

Donna ~ I bet you’re relieved that things a going well and your kid’s house is set up. It’s got to be a relief. I slept well last night, too. I do admit that I took AlevePM before going to bed. I knew I wouldn’t sleep well after doing the strength exercises and stretching I had done in the afternoon. These old muscles tend to fight me!!!

Debbie ~ I did get my mom a cell a few years ago. I insisted she have it because she was still driving at that time. She refuses to have a computer in the house though. I really do feel a difference in my energy level since I’ve stopped with the sugary snacks. It’s surprising how much difference it has made already.
My food choices are not always the best but I do try to stay within my daily calorie range or a little under it.

Debbie, awesome that your Tom BIrd is waiting for his day! LOL. I talked to my son yesterday to see if he wanted me to buy our family turkey since he & his wife will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner for our large family, he said he will get it when they buy groceries. We typically will have 22 for dinner, if everyone is able to attend. Usually I do all the cooking at our house, but this year we decided, everyone could pitch in with a dish or two & we will have it at son's house for a change of pace.

Sheila, that's wonderful that you are so close to your mom to be able to help her out with her errands & housecleaning. Enjoy these precious days with your mom they are priceless.

I slept like a log all night, emoticon , feeling much more rested! I did find the kids a couch for their home yesterday, it is a pleather material, so would be easy to wipe up any messes the girls would make. So I think now they have all the furniture they need. Now mom can relax & enjoy her house, that would be me! LOL emoticon I have to go home after work & make a carrot cake, it is for my office manager's belated birthday. With all the craziness in my life the past week & the office manager being out a few days since breaking her lower ribs, finally we get to celebrate. emoticon

woohooo!!! i have a 15 lb frozen turkey sitting in my freezer as I type!! LOL

DONNA - I used to be a light sleeper in my younger days but have noticed that I sleep like a ton of bricks these days. Even slept through my alarm (set on music because the alarm scares me when it sounds off) recently and first time ever. Upped the volume hoping that doesnt happen again. Hope you had a good nights rest. I don't recall any of the grocers in hawaii offering gift cards...lucky you! But we get discounts using the store's card...similar to Sheila.

SHEILA - glad your car is fixed and ready for the upcoming weather. Peace of mind is worth the investment. I put a lot of research into buying my car based on reliability and safety history and then to get a recall notice...is frustrating. I don't recall the notice mentioning 'exploding' airbags. I think they used 'malfunctioning' which is the same thing to me and i'm glad it's disabled.

Have a nice Mom-day. I love what you're doing. It's a win win for both of you. My parents are up in age too (mom's 84, dad's 82) and they live in vegas making it hard to see them as much as i would like to. And I worry for their safety and they aren't tech savy either. They don't want a cell or a basic computer for skyping but it would take a load off if they did.

Congrats on your no sweets/salty snacks streak!! Take it a day at a time....i know, cliche right? but your streak isn't and that's why you rock! For the past 2 days, my food choices haven't been great either but if you can do your streak...i can get back on track with my food.

Have a great day you guys! Stay safe and warm.

Wednesday is “Mom-day” for me. It’s the day I spend taking my 86 year old mother on errands, to get her hair done, and out to lunch. I usually run the vaccum and do other “heavier” cleaning jobs for her in the afternoon. I just plan for Wednesday to be her day and don’t make other plans. I do visit her at least every other day and talk on the phone with her daily. Luckily, she lives close.
Today is my 7th day with no sweets or salty snacks. It’s killing me - more the salt than the sweet! I haven’t made the best food choices but I am staying within my calorie limits. I need to up the veggies and lower the carbs.

Donna ~ My trusty Kia is ready for whatever the winter weather brings - $376.79 worth of ready! The main thing was new front breaks and flushing the rear brake line. It’s a good thing because snow is in Friday’s forecast.
I shop at Acme (local chain) and get discounts on selected items with my card and there are a lot of weekly “2 for the price of 1” sales eith the card. The card also collects “fuel purchase points” so I get money off when I buy gas at specified stations.

Sparked ~ Was your car included in the “exploding airbags” recall I’ve been hearing about on the news? I’ve had 3 recalls on mine (all minor) since I bought it in 2011.
I’m on East Coast time but have lots of family in California so I know what you’re saying about making calls. Glad you’re getting a free turkey for the holiday!

Hope you all had as nice a day as I did!
Sheila

Sparked2BeFit, emoticon on the FREE turkey! Free is always good. emoticon

I shop @ Food Lion for our groceries & they do a $20 gift card when you shop 6 of 8 weeks spending @ least $40 each time. I have one more week to collect & then I will probably use my gift card to get the ham & turkey for our families dinner.

Didn't rest as well as would have liked, kept waking up during the night thinking it was already time to get up. LOL. Guess I need to get busy working my today's to do list so I won't have a repeat tonight. LOL THe kids love their new place, they are busy getting everything put in it's place. Audrey & Weslie, especially love it, I knew they one, they have so much more space than when they were staying with us, besides they have all their toys back.

Hope everyone has a great day.

hello Team!! emoticon

MIMI emoticon on your weight loss and hope things are going as planned with your dad and the scheduled surgery.

SHEILA - hope everything went well with your car service. i just got a recall notice for my car...they had to disable the passenger air bag. it could open up unexpectedly because of the humidity in hawaii...what?? and they're going to install a new one WHEN the parts come in at the end of the month..bummer!

DONNA - i'm lazy about cooking and whenever i cook, i make a big batch to last for several meals to make it easier on me.

It's been pretty good on my end. although we don't have DST in hawaii, i still have to be aware of the time differences because i have family on the mainland and i deal with a few east coast mainland companies now and then which means all business calls need to be made by 11am hawaii time or those offices will be closed.

Have a great month everyone. Hubby's picking up a free turkey at our local grocers tomorrow...and if there's anything i love about thanksgiving besides family get togethers...it's leftovers. emoticon

MImi, woohoo on the #s loss. Great success to make the journey even better. Hope everything goes well with you dad with his surgery & he has a speedy recovery.

Sheila, hope you were able to get the car servicing done without any snags. Woohoo for making good choices to include all food groups.

The day wasn't too tough, still not as productive as I would have liked. Came home & made some chicken & rice for a nice hot meal after work. Have enough left for another meal, I like those kind of meals that you can stretch more then one meal out of.

MiMi ~ Hope your dad does well with his surgery. AND congratulations on being down 3 pounds!

It's a beautiful morning here in NE Ohio - sunny and cool. I just met two of my good friends for a great breakfast at a nearby restaurant. This will be my "big" meal for the day - home fries, 2 eggs, dry toast, 2 slices of bacon, and a small bowl of fruit. At least I hit all the food groups!
I need to take my car in for a scheduled service appointment this afternoon. Otherwise, my day is my own - not taking anyone anywhere today.

Have a good day!

Shelia, I struggle too with the exercise motivation. I am planning to set up an mini gym in what was the spare bedroom now that our kids have moved into their own home. I figure once I can get back into a routine it will get easier by the day. One step at a time.

Good Sunday morning to you all.
Well, I hit my first snow shower coming home from the store yesterday. I was not happy to see those flakes hitting the windshield! It's cold now, only in the 30s.
This past year has been hard and I gave up on myself. Life has been a struggle with family and personal health issues but I've finally realized it's time I moved forward. I've just been stagnating and eating my way into oblivion. Today is day 3 for me. I'm doing okay on eating but am having trouble finding self-motivation to exercise. I used to be able to "work through" pain but that has gotten more difficult as I age. BUT I can't keep using that as an excuse.
I hope everyone is having a good day today and ready to make November a healthy and positive month.

Sheila, what a small world. We have the trucks & a Uhaul trailer loaded but just couldn't get it all. I just don't understand how a young couple whose only been married a couple of years can have a houseful & a storage unit full of stuff. I guess he's just going to let friends/family in that area have whatever is left as we just can't make another trip

Good morning!
It's rainy and cool (cold!) here with snow showers in the forecast. Oh, well - I guess winter has to come.
Donna ~ I spent some time camping at Summerville when I was a child. I have some distant cousins who still live there but I can't remember their last name (through marriage). We spent many vacations in West Virginia and it is definitely a beautiful state.

Mimi, hope your family time was relaxing with lots of memory making.

Yesterday, our middle daughter had everyone over for a birthday luncheon for my MIL yesterday. She had made steak & gravy in the crockpot, mashed potatoes, veggie tray with assortment of fresh veggies & dip, Cucumbers in vinegar, corn on the cob, butterbeans & homemade biscuits. She also had made some strawberries that she stuffed with a mixture of cream cheese & powdered sugar, made some peanut butter cookies & one of my DILs made a blueberry cheesecake. It was all good, definitely not a diet friendly meal, but I must admit it was a treat to be invited to a family gathering & me not having to do the cooking or cleanup.

That's great your family can get together, families need to do more of that. I see so many families that just seem to do their own thing. We try to get together every couple of months or so, with our large family that sometimes is difficult to do.

Had a great day at church, now heading home to change & get some extra chairs & a table to take to DD's for the family dinner. DS & DIL should know by late this afternoon about the house, it's looking like they may be able to move next weekend. So happy it's within their budget & in a good area.

emoticon & emoticon Mimi, glad you joined us. Look forward to chatting & getting to know you. Have a fabulous day.

Had a busy but fun day yesterday. Got up early & did our house cleaning. Then stopped at this little country grill, grabbed a burger &drink to take to the woods with us. DH sat out there for probably about 3 hours or so, even did some walking in the woods, it was so beautiful but didn't see any deer to take home for the freezer, think they were all hiding. LOL.
Last night we had to drive into town to pick up MIL a birthday gift --we got her some painting kits (paint by number), a table top easel, scented hand soap, chocolate & a calendar/pocket planner set for 2015. Today our middle daughter is hosting a birthday dinner for my MIL, with all the family invited --and I don't have to bring anything, how nice to be treated to a meal by our kids, always a nice treat.

Woohoo on getting the doggies walked, I'm sure they make great walking motivators. LOL. Enjoy your weekend.

Ahh, finally Friday. Not sure why but just feeling soooo tired after the week of work. Planning to go hunting with DH tomorrow. We go mostly for the joy of walking amongst the beauty of God's creation, but if we are able to bring some fresh deer meat home, then that will be great too , makes for good food during the winter time.

Just perfect weather out there - room temperature - it’s a chemistry thing. Room tempertuare is 21C (70F) but mostly walking from inside to outside there is no change in temperature. It’s Friday, the start of the weekend and the holy day (like Sunday). We’ve done the 2nd dog walk of hte day and it’s so beautfiul and quiet out there. Next weekend the little dog should have her backpack so we can do a much longer walk and she can ride. She probably came from a puppy mill as she looks a bit funny in her shape and she does have trouble walking when she is getting tired. She’s only 5 pounds. The other dog has boundless energy and loves loooong walks.

I guess that is different not knowing in advance when a holiday will be occurring. Oh well, hope you can enjoy the weekend anyhow.

I'm loving these fall days. It's about 48 degrees when I head out for work, but we warm to the mid 60s. I could handle this all year. LOL.

It's good that you caught up on sleep. It's hard when you don't sleep well.

The dogs "LIKED" their bath, at least when it was over. Not sure if we will get a 3 day weekend or not. The islamic new year is Sunday and I always thought it was a day off. Guess we'll find out today. They don't announce the holidays very far ahead. A lot of the islamic ones depend on sighting the moon so the start date is not always firm.

LOL. I think I would be sneezing my head off with all that dust, major allergy/asthma trigger.
Hope the dogs enjoy their baths.

Went to bed @ 9 last night, the sleep deficit had finally caught up with me. LOL. I slept soundly til just before the clock beeped @ 5 this morning. Feeling so much better. Just too much on my mind lately, but I've noticed the elevated sugar seems to be linked to insomnia. Of course BS was down again this morning, emoticon but still have work to do so I can get it back to under 100 of a morning.

Today wasn't too bad So far I've not crashed considering how little sleep I've had. Waiting on DIL to finish supper, I know fried chicken is the meat, probably will have mashed potatoes with it. I will slice up some cukes & tomatoes so I have a nonstarchy veggie too.

Morning - so beautiful out today. Took quite a while to sweep up all the dust.

Missing those fall temperatures - lovely!

Although I don't much care for snow, I think I would have to agree to take snow over dust.
Hope you have a good day.

Fall temperatures have finally arrived, it dropped to 40 degrees last night, feel so nice to wake up with a crispness to the air.

Grandchildren are so fun but do seem to have a lot of energy!

We might actually have rain today! Well maybe but there are clouds again this morning. There is suppose to be bowing dust - YUCK - which means a big clean up afterwards. Give me snow storms anyway over dust. Snow doesn't hurt so much when it hits your face LOL

DH is getting for work so better go get his coffee ready to take.

Oh but I bet those "homegrown greens" were mighty tasty in your salad. Nothing beats the taste of homegrown veggies.

Got to hold my Smiley Kyleigh in church this morning, she's starting to grow & develop her personality. She especially loves her oldest brother Brandon, I guess because he's alsways playing with her. We stopped for pizza & salad, now heading home, will work on finishing the bed linen laundry & clipping my coupons. Have to pick DD up from work @ 530, so I won't be attending the evening service. I will pick up RXs & get my groceries on the way to picking her up Hopefully can have a visit from the sleep fairy tonight so I can find my mojo for the week.

I agree with you Sheila, it's a lot of fear mongering. Well lived in a bird flu, SARS area, just take proper precautions. Hajj just happened with 2 million people from all of the world, and there it's MERS. Everyone seems to be just fine.

Fish are so nice, love fish, don't need to take them for a walk in hot or cold weather.

Nice to have choices at the baby shower.

So far behind here. Housework FOR SURE today. Had some of my home grown greens in my tossed salad last night. Not sure if all the work is worth it for the price but it is fun to play in the dirt.

Sheila, I imagine those guppies are a source of joy to your mom. As long as she's had them, they are like her kids.

Have had a busy day of shopping, housecleaning & attending a baby shower for our office receptionist. The menu included lots of veggies & fruits as well as sandwiches, hotwings & chips. A little something for everyone's taste.
