Woohoo on getting the doggies walked, I'm sure they make great walking motivators. LOL. Enjoy your weekend.

Ahh, finally Friday. Not sure why but just feeling soooo tired after the week of work. Planning to go hunting with DH tomorrow. We go mostly for the joy of walking amongst the beauty of God's creation, but if we are able to bring some fresh deer meat home, then that will be great too , makes for good food during the winter time.

Just perfect weather out there - room temperature - it’s a chemistry thing. Room tempertuare is 21C (70F) but mostly walking from inside to outside there is no change in temperature. It’s Friday, the start of the weekend and the holy day (like Sunday). We’ve done the 2nd dog walk of hte day and it’s so beautfiul and quiet out there. Next weekend the little dog should have her backpack so we can do a much longer walk and she can ride. She probably came from a puppy mill as she looks a bit funny in her shape and she does have trouble walking when she is getting tired. She’s only 5 pounds. The other dog has boundless energy and loves loooong walks.

I guess that is different not knowing in advance when a holiday will be occurring. Oh well, hope you can enjoy the weekend anyhow.

I'm loving these fall days. It's about 48 degrees when I head out for work, but we warm to the mid 60s. I could handle this all year. LOL.

It's good that you caught up on sleep. It's hard when you don't sleep well.

The dogs "LIKED" their bath, at least when it was over. Not sure if we will get a 3 day weekend or not. The islamic new year is Sunday and I always thought it was a day off. Guess we'll find out today. They don't announce the holidays very far ahead. A lot of the islamic ones depend on sighting the moon so the start date is not always firm.

LOL. I think I would be sneezing my head off with all that dust, major allergy/asthma trigger.
Hope the dogs enjoy their baths.

Went to bed @ 9 last night, the sleep deficit had finally caught up with me. LOL. I slept soundly til just before the clock beeped @ 5 this morning. Feeling so much better. Just too much on my mind lately, but I've noticed the elevated sugar seems to be linked to insomnia. Of course BS was down again this morning, emoticon but still have work to do so I can get it back to under 100 of a morning.

Today wasn't too bad So far I've not crashed considering how little sleep I've had. Waiting on DIL to finish supper, I know fried chicken is the meat, probably will have mashed potatoes with it. I will slice up some cukes & tomatoes so I have a nonstarchy veggie too.

Morning - so beautiful out today. Took quite a while to sweep up all the dust.

Missing those fall temperatures - lovely!

Although I don't much care for snow, I think I would have to agree to take snow over dust.
Hope you have a good day.

Fall temperatures have finally arrived, it dropped to 40 degrees last night, feel so nice to wake up with a crispness to the air.

Grandchildren are so fun but do seem to have a lot of energy!

We might actually have rain today! Well maybe but there are clouds again this morning. There is suppose to be bowing dust - YUCK - which means a big clean up afterwards. Give me snow storms anyway over dust. Snow doesn't hurt so much when it hits your face LOL

DH is getting for work so better go get his coffee ready to take.

Oh but I bet those "homegrown greens" were mighty tasty in your salad. Nothing beats the taste of homegrown veggies.

Got to hold my Smiley Kyleigh in church this morning, she's starting to grow & develop her personality. She especially loves her oldest brother Brandon, I guess because he's alsways playing with her. We stopped for pizza & salad, now heading home, will work on finishing the bed linen laundry & clipping my coupons. Have to pick DD up from work @ 530, so I won't be attending the evening service. I will pick up RXs & get my groceries on the way to picking her up Hopefully can have a visit from the sleep fairy tonight so I can find my mojo for the week.

I agree with you Sheila, it's a lot of fear mongering. Well lived in a bird flu, SARS area, just take proper precautions. Hajj just happened with 2 million people from all of the world, and there it's MERS. Everyone seems to be just fine.

Fish are so nice, love fish, don't need to take them for a walk in hot or cold weather.

Nice to have choices at the baby shower.

So far behind here. Housework FOR SURE today. Had some of my home grown greens in my tossed salad last night. Not sure if all the work is worth it for the price but it is fun to play in the dirt.

Sheila, I imagine those guppies are a source of joy to your mom. As long as she's had them, they are like her kids.

Have had a busy day of shopping, housecleaning & attending a baby shower for our office receptionist. The menu included lots of veggies & fruits as well as sandwiches, hotwings & chips. A little something for everyone's taste.

Just dropping by to say hi to all!
I'm off to the grocery store and then to mom's to clean her aquarium. I sometimes wish she'd get rid of it but she's had her "guppies" for over 60 years so I guess they're here to stay.
I just turned the news off and am disgusted with many of the local reporters. Personally, I think the Ebola problem is being over sensationalized here in NE Ohio. It is very close to where I live in Summit County, but I'm not going to stop living my daily life.

Dog are much like children, a cookie surely will do the trick for either.

Yesterday my coworker suprised me for lunch, she went to Harris Teeter & created us some healthy salads with veggies, fruit & grilled chicken. Delish & healthy! Kenny's eye exam went well, still some inflammation but the dr is pleased with the healing process. He has to return in 3 weeks to see if the eye is completely healing, DR can't write a RX for reading glasses til healing is complete. We stopped at Ruby Tuesdays for supper, I had a salad & order the salmon with rice pilaf of which of saved 1/2 for my lunch today.
Blood sugar is down again today, 113. emoticon I guess lots of veggies are the trick. LOL. Have an emoticon day.

Oh gosh, ganglione, at least you know what it is. Lets hoper he podiatrist can get you foot back to proper working order again. Your DH is doing well.

I moved some furniture around this morning. The little dog is now wandering around the room as if it's unsettled her. It's a problem when you don't know her history. I'm sure a "cookie" will solve some of the problem. Those dogs live for food and smelling disguisting things on walks. LOL

I'm sure your dogs are "thankful" for the holiday food as well. Glad you had a nice holiday & are able to get some things ready to be donated to help others.

Well my Dr's office phoned yesterday with the MRI results. One good thing, there is "no tumor or such" BUT... it seems I have Ganglione in my lower foot which is a cyst of sorts, it's a sac filled with jellylike fluid originated from a tendon or joint area, it's apparently a very common & may develop as a result of a foot injury. She also noticed there is some deterioration of the joint of the big toe due to the bunion. I now have to schedule an appointment to see my podiatrist to see what needs to be done, I fear I know what he will say ---surgery.
Today Kenny has his followup with the opthamologist to see how improved his vision is since the cataract surgery. He's hoping for no glasses other than just reading glasses which will be a huge improvement. We plan to have supper @ Ruby Tuesday's since it will be late when we leave the Dr's appointment.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I hate being restless at night. Nice to get in extra walks during the day. Thanksgiving is nice but with only 2 of us and a whole turkey, there are left overs. The dogs sat hopeful in the kitchen last night while the turkey was cut up and separated into 200 gm portions. They were just waiting for us to sit down on the floor an share the turkey. Of course they got leftovers as well.

Today I'm getting rid of a few things. There is a charity that will be having a yard sale this weekend so it's a good time to donate some stuff and get rid of things I only seem to spend time dusting but not enjoying. Not much else going on, it's quiet again here.

That's the wonderful thing about Thanksgiving, it is only one day, definitely not like Christmas where you have weeks of parties & get togethers. LOL. Leftovers??? Hmm, with our family, not an option, we typically have 18-20 to feed at the holidays & the family is continously growing. LOL.

Blood sugar is up a bit this morning, but will work on getting it down, probably why I was so restless last night, I do notice a pattern between sleep & BS levels. I'm at the office now waiting for the Vavoline Oil & Lube station to open, then will take DH's truck up there for inspection & oil change. I will walk back to the office so that will give me a few more steps in my day. Hope you have a great day.

Oh you day sounds really great.

I did get everything made. I tried new recipes out. Definitely going back to the Mayo Clinic stuffing and Better Homes and Garden's Apple Crisp. The other ones were fine. Did go a little wild but it's only 1 day. No more wild until Christmas.

Didn't get the floors mopped so it's housework and turkey leftovers here.

Lol. I had a laugh visualizing your dog with an apron on trying to prepare the Thanksgiving bird. Happy Thanksgiving, I'm sure you will create a wonderful holiday meal for your family.

I did manage to get all the laundry caught yesterday, yayy! Success. I didn't make it for evening Bible Study as DD called & needed a ride home from work. So I stopped on the way to pick up some fruits & veggies & deli meat & fixins for lunches this week. I feel pretty awesome day, got a good night's sleep & low blood sugar this morning, it's going to be a great day. emoticon

Sounds good to have a personal pizza vacuum at home - aka your son - LOL

It's Canadian Thanksgiving Monday and we are having turkey. Never guess who is cooking all day. DH went off to work this morning and don't think the dogs would bother to actually cook the turkey if they got a hold of it. I'm just trying to figure out my food for the day to work in turkey dinner without totally going overboard. Have a nice cranberry sauce recipe with maple syrup - YUM!!

So for today it's mopping the floors and cooking turkey.

Hope you have a good day as some normalcy, not sure what that is in my life. LOL.

We actually got home about 5pm last night. Enough time to do some house cleaning & then get laundry started before heading to the hospital for the MRI. It was late but DH was hungry so we stopped at Pizza Hut. They had already taken down the salad bar before 830? So we ended up getting hotwings & personal pan pizzas, I only ate 3/4 of my pizza & brought the other slice home. They even messed up our order, I had asked for the Super Supreme toppings but they made a cheese pizza, due to their goof, they let us keep the cheese & still made us the right pizzas. I guess the kids can enjoy all the leftover pizza today, our son could eat pizza 24/7. LOL.

HIya,

No phone, no internet - sounds like heaven! Okay it sounds funny to me to be eating at Cracker Barrel but yummy. It's back to work today and so back to "normal", as normal as things get here. Just getting my housework done today.

Yay for milder weather. Enjoy!

Well we had a nice time, we did lots of walking & picture taking. Even drove over into TN for some sights. The place we had rented had no phone or internet access at all, but it was worth it just get away from all the chaos. We are heading home now. Just got back on the road after stopping for breakfast @ Cracker Barrel. We should be home around 4. That will give me time to get started on washing our laundry before heading to the hospital for the MRI. Have been trying to find out about the copay since Thursday but have been unable to get someone to call me back. I guess I will find out when I get there tonight.

Try to stay cool my friend.

Heading to the mountains for a mini getaway so DH can relax while he heals. He was pleasantly surprised when I told him I had booked a place for us to getaway to his favorite place ---the NC Smoky Mountains.

Don't worry, when I go home to the mountains I'll be complaining about anything higher than 100F, it's all relative. Also we dress for it and the buildings are all designed to be cool.

So at work you are the key for everything! Does everyone realize this? And do they worship you appropriately? LOL

Just had breakfast and i'm going to go fix one of our sun shades before it's too hot for the day.

Hope that your DH's eye recovery continues to goes well.

Oh gosh, so many choices for your foot, I vote for the least of the problems one!

Wow, 125, geez, and I complained about 110 this summer.

Kenny & I went for breakfast this morning, then I had to stop by the office to prepare the premium fund deposit to be taken to the bank as well as forwarding emails from my bosses inbox to all the staff in the office to take care, he's actually on vacation as well so there's no one with access to his box by myself. Kenny's appointment went well, the dr is pleased with the healing thus far. Kenny does goes to see our ophthalmologist next week for a checkup & to see if any RX glasses are needed.
THe Dr seems to think my foot pain could be one of 3 or 4 conditions, but she seemed to lean more toward Metatarsal Syndrome. She did draw blood today & will check for any elevated white blood cell count that would signal an infection in my body. As well she is referring me to the hospital for an MRI of the foot to see if there is something inside the foot causing the pain, she did mention some type of cyst or tumor.
Making homemade chicken & pastry for supper & will fix some string beans on the side, best get to preparing it so it will be done when DS gets home from work.

Those temperatures feel cool now after a summer of over 50C (125F). We are currently in Kuwait and will be here either 5 more months or 17 more months. Kind of hoping for 17 but what ever happens happens. The winters are like summer from october to may. The place we are in has a lovely patio so we can sit outside almost the whole winter. I love growing plants so I'm quite happy to be out there.

Long day for surgery but it should be well worth it. (((hugs))) for the foot pain. It's awful when you can't sleep due to pain.

Oh my, those are some warm temps? WHere do you live, that's our summer time temps but glad we are in the fall temps now. We got up to 76 today, it was nice.

No patch but he does have to wear this hard plastic shield when he goes to bed. He supposed to be keeping his eyes closed for the next 48 hours except to open them as needed. The surgery went well, but was delayed for a couple of hours. We finally got home about 4pm. He had to go visit the surgeon in the morning to have his check the eye to make sure everything about it looks good. Then I go see my Dr @ 11 to see if we can find a solution for this foot pain, some nights the pain is nearly unbearable and can't sleep, even with taking Motrin before bedtime

Oh blackened salmon - yummy!. Your day sounds so nice an normal!

It's getting wonderful here, was only 26C (79F) before sunrise and now at 7 am it's 29C (85F) with the high only suppose to be 41C (106F) so it's quite nice to be outside on the patio. I have all my plants potted and ready to sit outside with a coffee and enjoy all the flowers. My little veggie / herb patch is started off nicely as well. Looking forward to my own fresh salad fixings with cherry tomatoes and fresh herbs to cook with. Just getting someone to come and look at the shade sails on the patio to have them replaced if the price is not too dear.

Feeling better by now I hope. Take care of yourself.

I've been so busy lately, just can't seem to get to my Spark. I went in early Friday so I could get all my filed caught up so didn't get much spark time. DH & I went out for supper, we had blackened salmon, baked potato & salad, it was very tasty indeed. Yesterday, was supper busy, we went to breakfast, then to Battleship Park & met our middle DD there & her son. It is so relaxing besides we can look across the river to the other side & see the people down for the RiverFest, we don't go as it's just so incredibly crowded. Yesterday & then this morning I've been cooking for Homecoming --Salsa chicken, potato salad, steamed cabbage, sliced cukes & maters, apple-grape salad, biscuits & a pumpkin bundt cake with cinnamon glaze. We are having a group of ladies open up our services with music & then a guest speaker for the morning service following by a covered dish meal, we are expecting a large crowd as this speaker is well known & liked in our community, he's from Johnsonville, SC.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Went to bed early as I was drained from a crazy day at the office, we were unusually busy for a Monday even with all the staff being there. I'm working to try to catch up on all my files this week, I'm taking next week off to be with DH while he has & recuperates from the cataract surgery. Our DS that is living with us, started his new job yesterday, so far he says he likes it. He is working with his older brother @ BlueBell (yes, the ice cream place, this is actually a trucking location for them). Right now he's training in the warehouse but eventually will train to drive one of the delivery trucks.

Have a great day!

Feeling much better, no throat pain, still some nasal congestion & sneezing, but that I can deal with as long as I can talk without sounds squeaky. LOL. I came straight home & went to bed, didn't even remember to have a snack but BS was down. emoticon I've been noticing all weekend it's been dropping about 20pts each morning, couple more mornings & it will be where it needs to be if I can keep this trend.

Have an awesome day.

It's good to have you back Sheila, hope things are looking up for you.

It's a beautiful fall day in NC, temps in low 70s & the sunshine feels so nice. Heading home now to fix the sides dishes to go with our chop & potatoes. Hope to rest a bit while the laundry is washing & drying.. Don't know if it's allergies or the first cold of the season but I feel so BLAHHHH, no energy & head & throat feeling like yuck.

Good morning,
We're having beautiful fall weather here in NE Ohio and the leaves are beginning to change. I love this time of year! I'm just getting back to some activity on Spark after dealing with some medical issues the past few months. I'm looking forward to spending more time here and reconnecting with many of you.

Yesterday was busy, just couldn't seem to stop long enough to get all my sparking done. We slept in a little later so by the time we got to the breakfast café, it was packed but the food & service was still awesome. We ended up having to do the housecleaning in spurts whenever the kids would leave for a few minutes. Managed to get it all done yesterday except our bedroom, did that this morning before church. Kenny & I rode down to this little park by the USS North Carolina battleship that is across the river from downtown Wilmington. We spent about an 1 hour just relaxing & taking photos of sights. Of course I was dealing with either allergies or a cold with sneezing & nasal pressure, even starting getting hoarse. But feel & sound much better this morning. I have pork chops with potatoes, onions & cream of mushroom in the crockpot, will cook brussel sprouts & makes some succotash to go with it for lunch. Only thing on the agenda other than church is finishing up the laundry.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I played with my seed yesterday. I now have 7 pots of herbs WITH labels so I KNOW what is suppose to be in each one and planted my chives in the sale box, my new name for largest box. Also bought some petunias as I miss having some flowers. Still hoping for the sweet peas to germinate.

Enjoy your leisurely day. Although I do work on Fridays, its actually my favorite day of the week as it reminds me the weekend is just around the bend.
Another dreary & rainy day, but at least traffic was easy this morning, got to the office in record time with no wrecks or jams on the highway. Trying to make this a positive day.

Enjoying the weekend. Friday is our lazy day. I'm growing a herb garden for the first time. Some of the seeds didn't germinate and I'm not sure which ones are growing and which ones don't seem to have any life at all. This is what happens when you don't write down what is planted where. emoticon

Restless night & now late for work , there were 2 multicar accidents in a 1/2 mile stretch, hope everyone was ok. It's no wonder our area is the #1 area in the state for accidents with injuries the way being drive, too man try to squeeze into your safe safe when you leave a distance which is what caused the one yesterday.

Looks it wlll be a dreary day with rain off & on all day, makes for a good day to be inside.

I am quite restless at night so never sleep soundly for the whole night. Today the headache seems to have gone. Not sure what my plans are other then a quick clean up in the house. Looks like a nice day out there.

Lucky you weren't in the accident. Here people follow so close I don't know why there is MORE accidents. Looking forward to moving back home to slower traffic.

CDNALTA, 8 hours is a rarity for me, if I get more than 5 hours I figure I'm doing good. Of course last night was hit or miss with sleep. How's your headache, hope you had a better day.

The day went ok until the commute home, it got a little tense. Literally 2 cars ahead of me, there was a 3 car pileup, even one of the vehicles was on 2 wheels. Pretty scary, but it seemed everyone was ok, so that's a good thing. DIL is cooking fried chicken & mashed potatoes for supper, I'm going to make a tossed salad to go with the meal. Then relax after supper watching THE BIG BANG THEORY before heading off to bed.

Oh gosh I'd love 8 hours of sleep. I really find it hard to get more than 6 and wake up tired. Yesterday I had a bad headache again. This week has been bad. Did replant some flowers since only 4 nasturtiums germinated and my sweet peas are not germinating at all. That's disappointing. I am trying new things like herbs and lavender. I go stare at the soil every morning willing the seeds to germinate and show themselves.

So today I plan for rowing and vacuuming and hopefully no headache to interfere with my plan.

Wow, I think I actually slept a full 8 hours last night. Of course Charley Horses in my feet woke me up, but at least it wasn't until time to get up . DH was working closer today so while I showered first, he fixed my snacks & lunch, how sweet of him, even remembered to pack me some fresh fruit. My lunch is leftovers --our DIL made Taco Salads for supper but instead of a shell, she makes the base from Plain Tortilla chips & then you just had the fixins you like.

Barb, hope your 1st day back at school is a success! Wow those kids with your winning personality --I know you will make it an emoticon year.

Well it's back to work after a 3 day weekend. Of course yesterday was busy for us. Kenny & I spend most of the day just riding to the river & state parks photographing nature. It was nice to get out but man was it ever hot, the humidity made it feel like 97. Afterwards, I put up 36 ears of corn in the freezer as well as 8 qt bags of creamed corn. I plan on picking up more corn today if it's still on sale, can't beat the price of 10 ears for $1.
Didn't sleep well last night, I guess the anxiety of a busy day at the office being closed yesterday & it was a holiday weekend so that means lots of accident reports & new car changes to be done. Well at least the blood sugar was good, I almost think someone needs to pinch me but it's not been this low (95) in months.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi everyone,
Today was a beautiful day~until I was on my way home from seeing Mom..I was on my bike and I got caught in a rainstorm..thankfully I went under a bridge, so I didn't get soaked. I had a nice visit with Mom. We even got to spend time outside (before the rain).
Tomorrow is school...I wish I was more excited..maybe it's because summer seemed so short. Maybe after I get there it will be better. I am going to be working with 150 5th graders....it will take me awhile to remember some of their names.
I hope everyone had a nice Labor Day. I will stop & say "Hi" tomorrow. Hope it is a good day for all of you!!

Barb, hugs for you as you face each new day with your mom & her health. Cherish each moment as you & hold those memories close. But one thing ---can you send me some of that cooler weather? Geez it's hot out here today, heat index is 97 & it sure feels like it.

Yesterday we had almost all of the family over for the cookout. Our youngest DD & one of our SILs didn't come. But we did get a group pic of the ones there & then one of just the grandkids.I think everyone had a good time. DH & I cleaned up all the mess before bedtime & actually got to sleep in this morning, guess who slept ALL night, about 9 hours --yep that would be me!!! I feel the best I've felt in a while even with the high BS still being an issue. We went out to breakfast this morning, then went to visit the riverfront & watch the river traffic, lots of people in boat today enjoying a day off & the summer weather.. Then we stopped @ Food Lion, they had corn on the cob 10 ears for $1, so we got 50 ears that I plan on cleaning & blanching for the freezer this afternoon. Even will throw some on the grill for supper.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day/weekend. It is on & off mist,& rain, & it's chilly, so I guess I won't be biking..:o((..but I have a wonderful male friend (just friends) who helps me out with rides (I no longer drive because of my seizures) so I will still be able to see my Mom. It is hard to see her failing, especially when she was doing fairly well couple of months ago. At that time, she would bounce back from a bad day, but now, it's everyday she is getting slower, her speech is slower and harder to get the words out. But at least I can be with her, whether she talks or not, so I talk (God gave me the gift of gab), so there is no lack of words on my part. So I am thankful for all of you..it helps just to put down in words how I feel.
I'm hoping the day improves, so at least I can take a bike ride..have a good day everyone!!

Dusty the SS room is keeping you busy, but oh what a pleasure it will be to see the finished product.

Life has been pretty much the same for me lately, working lots of hours at the office just trying to keep afloat with the work load. Thankfully, my DIL is cooking supper during the week so that is taking a load off. It's finally Wednesday, almost to the weekend & some R & R time.

Dusty, wow, that's a lot to be done, do you have any help getting it clean & tidy?

Looking for my mojo today, BS very high & no sleep last night, of course those seem to go hand in hand from what I'm learning about diabetes. I do know I have a busy day at the office based on what I already have scheduled so I need to get my energy boot, guess I will walk over to the Scotchman & grab some coffee.

Have a great day.

We are just back from 6 hours working on the Sunday School room...We had to tear down sound barrier that they had glued to the windows...no small feat as the windows are 6' square and hauled sheetrock and debris down to the dumpster...that is 3 full flights of stairs...I was up and down them so much.... I don't want to count them.

We vacuumed, swept & mopped the floor, layed carpet, and made the circle of folding chairs today.

Now we need to paint at least two walls...they painted the ceiling a maroon, 2 walls dark dark green and 2 dark brown...it will take at least a gallon of klitz primer and one gallon of paint to cover each wall....if we are lucky.

There is an old saying...what doesn't kill you will cure you..
We are looking at covering the green walls...windows on one side with radiators and the opposite one...these green will now be ivory to lighten the room and we hope to get gold drapes by winter...I am thinking I can just get sheers in a gold color for now.

So ivory walls freshly painted and the dark brown walls opposite.
The carpet is a light tan and does deaden the sound in the room as well as pick up the tan in the sofa. For now...that maroon is gonna stay there. ...that ceiling is too darn high!

I have to see if I can take the seat cushion covers off the sofa so I can wash them...I hope I hope as that sofa is grungy... if they don't come off then I shall have to bring my shampooer in and use the furniture attachment to clean it...soon enough for it to dry before Rally Sunday.

There is a bulletin board that needs repair of one of its legs too.
That's it for now we are exhausted- bye
