Welcome to the Oregonians team. I lived in Medford way back in the late 70's and early 80's...I miss the hot summers!
My advice is to use the nutrition page and track absolutely everything that goes in your mouth. It will take awhile entering in the foods but soon you'll have your favorites entered and then daily it's pretty quick. There's nothing like seeing what each food is worth, to help you make good choices and hold yourself accountable. Lots of water too of course.
And in Medford there are so many opportunities to get out and to fun stuff for exercise. I wish I had a bike path like yours for rollerblading :)
