I am with you. All the pills the doctors pushed at me for the CFS/tick bite did nothing to help. When, I changed my eating habits and boosted the immune system, I started getting stronger and healthier. It took about a year and a half, but with diet and pacing, I can work 8 hour days again.

Also if you are prone to sinus or ear infections Oregano Oil will clear it...along with any other infections you might have. It is a natural antibiotic. You take 3x's a day until the bottle is gone..which rounds out to be about 33 days or so.

The tea is designed to heat up your metabolism...which will in turn make you sweat. It expels the virus from your body and also burns it out.

This is what I love about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). 95% of the time there is a way to cure your ailments without synthetic drugs, surgeries and everything else that Western Medicine comes up with to make money off of our pain. I still see my medical doctor for the other 5% and for physicals but go to my TCM practitioner.

You prompted me to do a little research. Ginger is a main ingredient in the Mean Green juice. We all know onions are good for us too. Although I would be afraid to talk to anyone at work after the ginger onion mix. However, if I was home sick I would sure try it. I think a kale and/or a broccoli tea would also be very beneficial. They are both nutrient dense.

I used to get sick a lot but not in the past 6 months. I started seeing an acupuncturist/oriental medicine practitioner and he's helped me boost my immune system and health. He does have a cold buster tea recipe that some of my co-workers have been swearing by. Here is the link to it. kumoacupuncture.com/resources/educat

It's called the Cold Buster Tea.

There are natural herbs and things you can use to help. Good luck and feel better soon!

It sounds like you are taking a step in the right direction to boost the immune system.

I did eat broccoli tonight, wish the rest of the food had been as nutritious. Better job tomorrow for me.

I have gotten sick more this year than ever. But I am back on a good routine of vitamins with a few immune boosting vitamin/minerals too. And I am making sure to get out in the sun (whenever we get some) to absorb lots of vit D. Hoping to make it the rest of the year without anymore colds/flu/infections!!

We don't usually get the flu shots. My kids will if they're already at the doctor for a check up, but we haven't noticed much difference in years past. I'd say that what we're getting is the common cold (congestion/cough/sore throat).

I wonder if having an autoimmune disorder is part of the problem for me. My family usually gets hit for a couple of days and I seem to suffer for at least a week.

What types of workouts do you do at home when you're sick? I'm going by the rule where if symptoms are above the neck, you're okay to work out (ie, no upset stomach).

Flu and colds seemed to have a late start this year. I get vaccinated and wash my hands quite often. I also got a lotion based sanitizer so my hands wouldnt dry out - that helped too.

Pumping up my immune system has helped me. Emergencee or Airborne helps, but if I juice the "Mean Green" recipe from Reboot, and add it to my diet for a couple of days I feel like a new person. It tastes awful the first couple of glasses, but then i start craving it like a fine wine.

1 cucumber
4 celery stalks
2 apples
6-8 leaves kale (Australian tuscan cabbage)
1/2 lemon
1 tbsp ginger

This is the base and I add whatever else that is healthy in the fridge to it. I hope you find the better health you are looking for on Spark People.

A lot of illness going around this year. We have had a few bouts of it at my home. As for working out and not going to the gym I find plenty of exercise I can do at home without a lot of expensive equipment. I hope you are sell soon and can get back on track.

So far, this year, we haven't gone two weeks without someone being sick in my house (not an exaggeration at all, I'm afraid). This translates to I'm home with the kids because they're sick and then the following week, I'm sick. I'm so sick of being sick and this year has been the worst!!

This also means my workout schedule is WAY off. I can never get to the gym and when I finally find my groove, we get hit with with the sick again. I miss working out and currently, I'm the one sick (sneezing, congestion, etc).

I don't know what it is about this year that's hit us so hard, but we can't seem to get ahead. At this rate, I won't hit any of my set goals. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
