I have been told that added fiber does not act the same as naturally occurring fiber. I don't know if it is true or not, but I have experienced major stomach issues when eating foods which have fiber added. It is difficult to avoid but I feel so much better without it.

Hi Debbie
Thanx for the info. Do you know that metamucil is really healthy? I know some doctors recommend it but others say its not good for you. My husband was told 30 years ago to use it to control his Chrons disease and now there is a controversy about it.

Hi Jan
I am one of the few who does not use the nutrition Tracker. It is because of the configuration size of my screen.
I get great figer out of veggies & fruits and beans. I ws trained young by my mother to enjoy prunes. They are a terrific source of fiber as are raisins. Check out oogle and natural sour ces for fiber. I also drink Mettamucil 3 times a week.

Is wheat dextrin as fiber healthy? I like to add Benefiber (actually I use Walmart's generic) when I make chocolate milk or sauces and such for my family. When I added this to my nutrition tracker it made a comment about using fiber substitutes. Does this mean it isn't a healthy source of extra fiber in my diet?
I already eat fiber in my foods. I am always looking for products high in fiber. I don't like psyllium and I am not a cereal eater.
I would appreciate any feed back. Its great to have all of you as a source of information. So thanks to all.
