I have a pair of size 4 pants that I bought as my weight was going up. They fit a little tight in the dressing room and I said I'd get them (they were on sale and I loved them) and that would help me to get rid of the extra few pounds I had gained.... that was 2 years ago and I never lost those few pounds, but I have added 30 extra on! I guess I went the wrong way! But I still have the pants and am still going to try and get into them again!... now they aren't just tight, I can't even get my leg into them! Carly

The item that I have hung onto was a pair of Tommy H jeans, size 14 (tight 14). They are practically brand new, I found them a 2nd hand store for $8.00!!! I have only worn them a few times, the last being just before I got prego with my DD. I was 188 then & they were a tad snug in the leg. When I do fit into those again, I will know that I have worked hard to get there & it will feel good to wear them. Stef

Some short shorts, that I have had for years. At one point it even fit and I felt sexy wearing them. Just tried them on yesterday still a little snug and way out of style but I will keep them just for fun.
Originally, my motivator was a very precious item of not clothing but jewelry that I wear every day. My concern was not getting it on, it was being able to take it off! It was my wedding ring. Being a lmt, I have to have bare fingers when I massage. As my weight was going up, I was starting to get panicky my precious ring was going to end up either stuck on or stuck off. So the motivation was to fit into my wedding ring again, and have it slide on and off my finger without trouble.
Thank goodness that goal has been achieved.
Next clothes motivation goal(almost there!)is a fantastic pair of size 2.5 Chico's jeans. I got them earlier this year. Could not resist. Vowed to be able to fit int them. They have this really cool pattern on them. When I first got them I could barely get my legs into them and don't even think about the zipper. Now they zip easily. They're still just a little "cuppy" in the butt. Whoo hoo!
I don't have an article of clothing that I aspire to fit into again, but instead I have a new pair of yoga pants that totally motivate me. Every time I put them on I want to walk, stretch, move, dance, and breathe! They're wonderful.
Perhaps I should buy another pair, a size or two smaller, for added help
Size 6 jeans. Not necessarily a motivation tool but I've yo-yo'd over the years and always kick myself for getting rid of my skinny clothes. My fat clothes? They're outta here every time I lose, swearing I'll never gain the weight again. I currently have boxes in my closet labeled probably, maybe and dream on!
Actually clothing makes me mad!! If I think of all the money I spent on "new" clothes while I fluctuated up and down, I could of bought a house years ago with it!! LOL! Actually I have this sundress I have kept for ever. I wore it in my early 20's it's a size 11/12 I'm in an 18 now and NO I will NEVER be that small again. It stuck around actually as I thought some day I'd find someone who sews well and could copy it as I have never seen a sundress made like that and it looked real good on me, I'm all thumbs when it comes to sewing! I love to have the clothes that remind me of how I used to look, but after a few years of staring at them wantingly I realize that it is a depressor to me so I give them all away. I do have a few that I keep on hand that are snug to tight that I know I'll get into some day LOL. I have found it easier to keep my "fat" clothes because I know that they'll fit again :( I told hubby as I shrink, my wardrobe will be coming from thrift shops and freebies until I hit goal weight, then I'm SHOPPING.
I guess NO I don't keep motivation clothes they're just to depressing.

I also used to have an outfit hanging in my closet that I would see everyday. It was really cute. I took it down because it made me depressed to see everyday what I can't fit into.
I think everyone has different motivators. That just isn't one of mine.
Keep your head up Dawn. Maybe your body just needs to adjust to the changes you are going through. Take one thing at a time. Maybe focus on exercise first and then the rest will follow. I find that if you try to do to much all at once it gets frustrating and is easier to give up.
Small changes will add up.

I used to have an outfit in my closet it sat there for years. It was a size 10. I finally gave it to good will. I have been in a 14 for years but with my diabetes it is sooo hard to lose weight. I was just put on Insulin a few months ago and have gained almost 10 lbs. I hate it. No matter what I do I'm not losing I'm gaining.
Do any of you have a piece of clothing that you use for motivation?
I got down to a size 16 at one point in time, and while I'm now in a 22, I didn't keep all the clothing. As much as I woudl have liked, it actually makes me MORE upset to see a closetful of clothes I can't wear.
I did, though, keep one piece. A summer dress that I really loved, it's nothing super fancy, just something from Old Navy, but the way my body is shaped I could hardly wear dresses (biggest in stomach, not large chest) so it was monumental for me. *laughs* So, I can't WAIT to fit into it..it's a size 18 but I wore it when I was a 16 (again, body is shaped oddly for dresses) so WHEN I get into it, I'm going to take pictures...do all of you have a motivation piece of clothing?
