Thanx for the link, I always like to learn about new things. But I think I'll pass on it, I'm not into heights.

I don't tend to have the best coordination for complex moves, I never liked tumbling and my balance is slightly damaged. So I don't think I'll be doing parkour, but it looks very neat.

I recommend ONLY pursuing pk with an instructor. It's just too dangerous to play with alone.

For folks who are unacquainted w/ pk, here's the wiki page:

Ha, well I think the beauty of any activity is the more you practice the less clumsy you become at it. Trust me, I'm a tripper, too but I'm hoping to change that.

I think I'll pass on that one. I'm the one that trips and breaks their foot. LOL

Ok, I have seen that! I saw it on an episode of CSI New York - of course in that one somebody died. Not saying that will happen. I haven't heard of it in Portland. good luck to you! if you want to run we have quite a few sparker's who run in the Portland area! in fact we have formed a team for the 2010 Hood to coast relay and have our own Spark Htc 2010 team.

Free running has a really deceptive name. Running is free by nature but I think it is a translation issue because it started as a European activity. It is basically centered around the movement effective and creative movement through urban space. All those videos you see of people jumping between roof tops and doing acrobatics with urban architecture are free runners/parkour.

I'm always looking for new ways to spice up my work out regimen (I can easily get bored with the same work outs over time)and was wondering what people new about free running/parkour?

Specifically I'm curious if any of you out there in Oregon are doing this. It looks like an amazing work out but really intensive and requiring a lot of training. What do you all know and are there any clubs around?
