You and me both...I have been finding that figuring out navigation and just the vast amount of information and support on this site is a great distraction when I am feeling like I need an unhealthy snack!

Welcome! and best of luck!

Remember that it's not so much about drastic change, don't be so hard on yourself.

All it takes is a little bit of biochemistry, and whole lot of time.

Good Luck!

Welcome to a fantastic site and a great Team. Slow but sure. Use the My Spark Points page as your map. As you enter your food and get your groupings made up, things will go much faster. Few of us use their suggested Menu's due to finances, allergies or needing to take the family into consideration. That's why we check the box to remove them.

You'll do fine, just remember, don't try to do everything right at first. Baby steps is what gets us there.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Chas, thx for the encouraging words. Yes, I have started my favorites list. I just will have to be dedicated. I hope I can be as good as you.. I do like to buy food at TJ's and Costco and I have found some of my items in other members lists, which is good. I will visit your page soon.. Keep up the good work.. emoticon

Since I am diabetic, I do not use the SparkPeople prepared daily suggestions. I put in my own choices. Once you put something in, (search for it in the food data base and most stuff is there) you make it a favorite(little box by the add this food place) and next time you just go to your favorites. You can put your own things in...it takes time, but once it is in your favorites you don't have to do it again. I have many, many favorites and so just search there and make up my day's meals. I don't do it in advance. I list them as they are happening or do it when I get home. I have lost 75 pounds so I think it works :)
I have to limit carbohydrates, so knowing what's in everything is wonderful!!! The count at the end is great to see how you are doing with your goal numbers (which you can adjust as well!) I allow only 150 carbs a day..etc.
I have been on SP for a year and a half and am so happy my daughter told me about it. I must control my blood sugar by what I eat, so WOW...it is saving my life!!
You are welcome to check out my Spark Journey click on the picture on the right or just where it says Spark Page.
Good luck...It just takes determination and forgiveness when you goof (which I do, for sure).

Trying to understand all the different ways to use this site... First, just tried to list the foods that I ate today.. that takes time as i have different food than what is listed in the suggested menus. ... I just want to stick with it. I always start out good, then lose interest, motivation... hoping I can hang in there this time..
Now, i am going to the gym... write more later.... emoticon
