Hi and welcome. There is lots of good help here. Do not be afraid to ask. Many of my friends have had good luck with Fibro by going on a high protein diet. Stopping smoking will help to solve a lot of problems and is the hardest thing to do. At first smoking causes you to lose weight because food does not taste as good and you can not digest your food as well as when you were not smoking. Before long your body is asking for more food because it is not getting enough nutrients. The excess goes to fat. Your stomach stretches needing more to fill it and weight piles on. When you quit smoking the food tastes so good and your stomach is stretched.... My solution is to take small bites and chew slowly savoring all of that flavor and resist taking seconds. It takes a couple of weeks to shrink the stomach back to normal. You should know that life insurance statistics show that children of smokers do not live as long as children of nonsmokers. This is true even when the smoking is done outside or away from the children. I wish you great luck on this venture and you can do it. Many others have. Look for a SP buddy in your area.

When I began SP I started out first by getting 8 cups of water a day. (water helps ease pain) then gradually I began to walk start slow and build up and then fit good nutrition in there. It's ahrd with young kids at home but you can do it. Best of luck to you. Oh and you might find a walking buddy or take the kids to a local school track or walking trail.
i am new here,i need to loose weight,i am 5ft 11 and weigh 225,i have heart probs,ulceres,fibro,and lupus,doc said if i keep on going this way i will not live to see my youngest start kendergarten,i am trying really hard to quit smoking.i need lots of support and friends,oh i have 5 kids also 4 boys age 2,3,5,and7 and 1 girl age 11,thanks for reading and good luck to all..
