My "girls" are COMING!!! with their babies and husbands. I am THRILLED. I have no children, but I have mentored/adopted several people into my life. I have heard that 3 of my girls are coming and they have all had babies within the last year. I am so thrilled I will be able to see them. NOW I will definitely have a great time. ESPECIALLY showing off my "grannephews" and "granneices".
Theme: Memories and Changes I am asking EVERYONE to bring AT LEAST ONE special memory from their life. It can be a special trip, an event, a place or person to share. It is a time for CELEBRATING all of the MEMORIES and CHANGES that have happened over the years.
This is an OPEN HOUSE style party, which means come and enjoy and leave when you need. I will have a "baby" room (for little ones who need to sleep) since "my girls" have said that they will try and be here and will be bringing their little ones (oh and their wonderful husbands also). I will also have a TV room with popup books to enjoy and Puzzle room, besides the other items set out for fun. And if everyone is here around the same time, we will need the extra bedrooms to hold you all. (MY HOUSE IS NOT KID PROOFED. You will need to watch out for the toddlers and small children.)
I have friends from past jobs, my school, church, family, civil war reenacting family, and even "best" friend from high school coming. (Re-enactors--if you would like to DRESS for the evening, please do so--but guns and weapons are encouraged to be left in the "buggy" since this will be a FRIENDLY time with both sides present (hopefully).)
Sweetheart will be cage until 9pm then he will be let out to enjoy the company. I already know that he will be trying to do his best to convince you to let him out before then by talking. I know that at least two of you are not the biggest fans of birds--so that means come before 9.
If you think I may have missed someone, please contact them about the party. The more the merrier. Espcially Gresham or St. Helens area friends and coworkers.
OF COURSE I will have plenty of food--- Hey this is JaKay we are talking about. If you wish to bring something to share, please bring finger food. ESPECIALLY if it has a MEMORY attached to it.
If you need to bring something: Canned food for local food bank or Book for local family shelter would be nice.
Some of you know from past years that I have an annual party at Christmas. I did not have it this year, and moved it to include in into this party. This is also OPEN HOUSE since this is a new town for me. And as some of you have figured out, it is also close to my birthday--and I am feeling like celebrating. Yes, it will be a BIG ONE.
My long-distant friends and family, I would LOVE to have a memory from you to include for the party. You are part of this even if you are hundreds and thousands of miles away.
If you need a bed for the night (since some of you will be traveling), please let me know in advance so that I can see if local friends can help me with beds. My niece, Carissa, and friend, Jule, will already be sleeping on my two air mattresses.
