if pale skin is in then i must be really cool! LOL.

we're definately hosting thanksgiving and i'm kinda excited because i will have control over the menu. i told the relatives if they want something in particular (mostly not OP) then they will have to bring it themselves. now i just have to figure out another folding table and some more chairs to cover the last 6 people.

now water i've never had a problem with because i LOVE a tall glass of ice water all the time. occassionally i'll have a hot cocoa, soda, or juice but usually only once every other week if even that much except during christmas...then hot cocoa is a staple for the evenings by the fire.

well the kids are hyper. the turkey roast is almost done. we're testing out recipes early for thanksgiving. i think for the space in my kitchen and time we might do several turkey roasts instead of a big bird. i'm sure that will tork mil...i'm not 'traditional' enough or do enough things from scratch but that is why i'm not pulling my hair out by the end of the day :)

gotta run...hope you all have a great week!

Sherry Jo: What does your doctor say about your water intake while you're on that medication?

Susan: I'm with you! Pale skin is IN! Lots of wrinkles run in my mother's family - but they never protected their skin like we do today. I have to say that this 57-year-old face looks pretty darn good. Most people don't believe I'm well over 50. (It's hard to type while I'm patting myself on the back....)

yeahh...
I forgot about the Chicago weekend...

I wonder how many got together? and what did everyone do!

Sherry Jo...ahhh yes..I used to (okay..I still go to the bathroom ALL THE TIME), but I used to go like every then minutes, because I drink over 1 gallon a day AT LEAST in water..and usually a heck of a lot more..
and a first..ohhh MY MY MY MY ..my bladder did NOT like me at all...no no non nooooooooo..it did not..*LOL
but over time it did get used to it...

especially if you drink and eat it is easier..
and workout and drink..

during my weight workouts I down at least 2 - 17 oz bottles in one hour...
and even more water before..and I definately add more water afterwards.

but LET me tell you the one thing that I KNOW to be true about water...
anyone that ever meets me always says HOW YOUNG I LOOK...
and there are two things that I have done pretty much steadily..
I drink water...
and I stay out of the sun...
And what I mean by that is that I don't sun bathe...because I will go work in the sun or walk, but I protect myself..
because SUN SHINE IS NEEDED for health..
but I will never subject myself to having my sun fried, crisped, browned etc...
just because well...between the cancers...and the wrinkles...
I will simply have to stay the white pasty girl that I am..

and believe me...I hate it at times, because I would give anything to have a nice darker tone..
but...so it goes!

and I can live with going to the bathroom as well, since I need the extra water intake to keep my kidneys and liver moving along, because expecially since both my medications can cause major damage..and well...
I like that extra water to keep moving through my system to help to make sure that they DON"T hurt me...
plus the tests that I need to do...

speaking of which...
I have to find out when my physcial is..hmmmmmm
they haven't called me to remind me and I am soooo blonde...I can't even find my appointment card...

Hugs
Later

Good Morning, team. I'm feeling a bit better this a.m. I found some Vicodin in the cabinet, so I was finally able to sleep without waking up in pain.

Hey, what happened with the Chicago weekend? What did you guys end up doing? I couldn't make it because of work, but I hope you all had a good time.

Have a peaceful Sunday, everyone.

Good morning
Thanks Susan for the water tips. My biggest problem is going to the bathroom so often when I drink a lot of water. I already take those pills you see on tv (gotta go gotta go but I still go)and water goes right through me. Some days when I am out a lot I have to cut back on the water intake.
Tried to weigh this morning and the batteries in my scales are not working. Now to remember to buy some more. I think I am staying about the same weight.
I had to go shopping for a new dress and I went down a size since the first part of summer. That made me feel great but I know I still have a way to go and this is the hard part last 15 pounds.
Now I do have to go and let a little guy use the computer. I hope everyone is going to have a great weekend.

Hi, teamies. I haven't had too much time to post this week. We had a minor crisis at work, and I put in over 9.5 hours every day except yesterday - that was only 8.5. And to top it off, I came down with a monster sore throat Wed. night. It only got worse, so yesterday I called the dr. She called in a prescription for me, so hopefully I'll be better by Monday. Next week will be another busy one. Ugh! But the good news is that I'll be flying down to TX on the 26th for the weekend. Can't wait until Thanksgiving to see my DGD again. DD, DGD, and I will have a girls weekend, as my SIL will be out of town.

Anyway, I probably won't be exercising today, unless this throat of mine improves drastically. Have a good weekend everyone. (I'll quit whining now..)

This list might help with our water.

20 Tips For Getting Your 8 Glasses of Water Daily
Sometimes drinking our eight glasses of water a day can be a real challenge
Here are 20 tips to help you accomplish that feat! It is said by many beauty
experts that drinking your water is the cheapest, quickest way to look
better! That should motivate us!

1. Make a bet with a co-worker to see who can drink more water in the course
of a day.
2. Have a big glass of water at every transitional point of the day: when
you first get up, just before leaving the house, when you sit down to work,
etc.
3. Make it convenient - keep a big, plastic, insulated water bottle full on
your desk and reach for it all day.
4. When you have juice (apple, grape, or orange) fill half the glass with
water.
5. When you have a junk-food craving, down a glass of water immediately. You
feel full quickly and avoid the calories, and it lets time pass till the
craving fades.
6. Have one glass every hour on the hour while at work. When the work day is
done your water quota is met.
7. Substitute a cup of hot water with a drop of honey for tea or coffee.
8. While at work, get a 20 ounce cup of ice and keep filling it up from the
office water cooler. The key is drinking with a straw - you take bigger
gulps and drink much more.
9. Freeze little bits of peeled lemons, limes, and oranges and use them in
place of ice cubes - it's refreshing and helps get in a serving or two of
fruit.
10. After each trip to the restroom, guzzle an eight-ounce glass to
replenish your system.
11. Don't allow yourself a diet soda until you've had two to four glasses of
water. You will find that you won't want the soda anymore or that just half
a can is enough.
12. Let ounces of water double grams of fat: When eating something
containing 10 grams of fat, I drink 20 ounces of water.
13. Drink two full glasses at each meal, one before and one after. Also,
drink one glass before each snack so you don't eat as much.
14. Carry a small refillable water bottle at all times and drink during
downtime; while waiting in a bank line, sitting on the train, etc.
15. Use a beautiful gold-rimmed glass and fill it with cold water from the
tap.
16. Drink two glasses of water immediately after waking up.
17. Bring a two-liter bottle of water to work and try to drink it all before
you leave work. If you don't finish, drink it in traffic on the way home -
it's like a race.
18. Always keep a 24-ounce bottle of water handy while watching TV, doing
laundry, making dinner, etc.
19. Add drinking two glasses of water to your daily skincare regimen. Drink,
cleanse, moisturize, etc., then drink again.
20. Drink your water out of a big Pyrex measuring cup - it's a good way to
keep track of how much water you are drinking.

liisa...i dont think i won a t-shirt. susan did.

on a personal note...the bil that is still trying to get a divorce (its been going on forever it seems) is now moving a stone's throw away from us with our nephew. so now i have two inlaws closeby. (the rest live 30 miles away) at least this is the one bil that shows me respect and when i say no for my kids to do something he honors it. so my nephew will be in our son's old school from last year.

i'm exhausted. not sure why. i slept in this morning.

well, dh on cell. time to go...chat later :)

Hello all. I am overwhelmed with everything this week. I think because my ds's baseball season started up again. Too much time spent at the field.

I tried to skim.

Happy Birthday Liisa

Natalie won a T-shirt(congrats)

Linda is all alone on the exercise thread. I'm just behind on putting that in. And I see someone added a sticky to it. Thanks. Now how do you do that?

Susan, Someone mentioned about a new "you", but heck, I really like the old one, so don't change.

Myself, this has been a down week for me only cause I'm so busy. I'm getting ready to go out of town on Wed. morning for a week, so I must get all caught up before I leave.

I'll check back in before Wednesday. Then when I return, I want to play for some serious points. I'm falling in the team.

Lisa

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13th!!!

SHERRY JO..HUGS HUGS

the main thing is..you are here and you are back..*S*
and I hope to see you as much as you can get your wonderful hiney in here!!

and maybe the more people start posting, then those other 20 some people will come and post as well...
yep..

that would be cool eh

it got cold here...finally...I so love it when fall just slaps you in the face and lets you know it has arrived...
and you have to pull up your covers and cuddle deep inside of them...
I like my bedroom very cold ...
I start sleeping better and I need it desperately...

I need to get my hiney however really really into gear regarding exercises because I have been a slacker in that department.

Hugs
Have a great day

All I can say sorrrrrrrrrrrry I have not been around.
I do have a good excuse. The power supply went out on the computer. Talk about computer withdrawals it is ughhhhh.
Guess you can say I have not been good tooo much stress at home right now and healthy eating and exercising has been tossed to the wayside. Now it is time for me to get back to thinking about myself too.
I know I will do better with my spark friends.
I think I am going to have to start over learning about the spark site.
Just wanted everyone to know I am happy to be back.

Good Morning everyone!!

heehee...

I WAS WAITING FOR LINDA TO JUMP into this conversation...

and ohhh yes yes yes I know you can kick some hiney

I think it takes all of us!
as I said it is a number

people FORGET..that all ages have something to contribute..

it is the same thing as just because someone is short and little, watch out...often those can take down a 300 pound man...
or just because you are big and overweight...doesn't mean you aren't flexible or can't run...
everyone is different...
and never never underestimate ANYONE..

okay...babbling...and I am only on my second cup of coffee!

Wednesday..
what to do?

okay, if all goes well, I will be going to my YOGA AQUA class at nine thirty this morning..

but..I know I am doing one hour with Elaine this afternoon - that would be a weight workout..and then one hour of Yoga afterwards...
so..it should be a GREAT workout day today..
and I need it..
my sorry hiney hasn't done much in the last week, but now that Aunt Flo has left and packed her bags...
I can get back into the grove...

Off I go..
breakfast time

emoticon Happy Birthday, Liisa! (that's sugarfeee, fatfree cake)

Susan - love the "new you"! Yikes - only 17 years difference between you and Liisa!! Your bones are creaking??? These old bones are over twice as old as Liisa's! (I can still kick some hiney, too.)

Gotta get going - I need to get to work early today so I can leave in time to get my hair cut.

susan...love the witch pix. cool about the t-shirt. the only thing i've really ever won was champagne glasses and i dont even drink LOL

lisa...loved the pictures. i still hate having my picutre taken and the day i ended up brave enough to do a 'before' pix in my swimsuit the camera broke LOL

well today has been cold then hot and then just plain busy. the greenspace behind our house blew a ton of leaves onto the loop's driveway and then blew down into MY driveway since my slopes down and not up like everyone else. so i spent some time today raking. i stopped when it got too hot and the youngest gave up helping me. when dh & the oldest get home then we'll finish it. i still plan on hitting the gym tonight for water aerobics. i wasnt ready on time this morning after everyone went to school so i spent some time just dawdling. that was just plain weird!

my son now wants to 'move' again. i ruined his "reputation" at the new school by refusing to let him go see "jackass 2" at the theater and made him come with me and his sisters to the cartoon "open season" this past weekend which he liked until he made sure this kid who is 'cool' at school see him at the theater and told him i wouldnt let him see the movie when asked why they didnt see him in the movie they saw. the kid is only 13. he's mad his uncle let his cousin see it...which i found out later his mom (they are divorced) was mad he saw it too. so this morning he was still giving me attitude about it.

time to run...son just came home mad he earned a detention :(

what do i want to do? hmmm...besides lose my fat butt i would have to think on that one. eliminating an inlaw isnt legal LOL

i did an hour at the pool this morning. lucky i did because with every phone call i answer this morning something more is added to my schedule. the heater needs repair, my son is getting his cast off thurs, and so on. (then of course silly me forgot the bank was closed today and left all my banking to do today!)

this past weekend was a struggle. i saw every inlaw possible except one bil/sil. then we went out to eat at the last minute. the restuarant didnt really have anything on plan that was worth the money. so i stuck with plain pancakes since they served breakfast all day. i had to control myself to resist the peanut butter/chocolate shakes i love there (it helped when my fat butt was seated in the aisle because i couldnt fit in the booth...i was too embarrassed to order anything fattening) or to order a pie. i did well. drank a lot of water and did more socializing than eating which was the purpose of going out to lunch. fil/mil werent there it was just siblings and their spouses/kids. next time i'll just go ahead with my plan of fixing a meal at home for all the relatives when i know they might want to get together. dh told me they wouldnt want to eat after getting together but i knew better and followed his lead anyway.

all the inlaws but mil/fil want to have thanksgiving at my home. its less stressful when i host events. i'm not anal like mil. fil complains that not enough people are helping. i dont mind because then i can have it all healthy! i told dh to tell his mom we're hosting thanksgiving to give her a break (which no matter what i say she'll be offended because she wont have control) then they mentioned christmas too because this year because mil/fil are taking off for vacation during christmas. mil planned it last year after she threw a fit i ruined christmas by having it at my home (a week after we moved in) but she was the only one who complained.

anyway, the youngest wants me to watch a movie with her. i'll check in later.

btw, susan...thanks for the wet footprints on my ship. i need to mop anyway :) the crew will miss you but not our ICs LOL

I made it through the weekend!!! As promised - here I am checking in. I am at work so this will be brief and I can't do personals until this evening.

Crazy fun busy weekend. Friday worked till 5pm then downtown for an art gallery opening then out for drinks till 2am. Then got up at 8am Saturday and headed out with a bunch of friends for a day of paintball (first time and it was fabulous - pictures to come) and then dinner and drinks afterwards. Then yesterday we got up and bought our new floors and all our new furniture before heading to my mom's for a birthday dinner. I haven't gotten any sleep but had a great weekend and will catch up tonight and tomorrow.

Good Morning, everyone! Susan you're up early! Yay, on getting that new house pulled together!

Natalie - Congrats on your loss so far!

I managed to force myself out yesterday for an hour's walk with a new Podrunner mix. I certainly didn't reach my exercise goal last week. I'll have to be more active this week to help make up for it. I was not good on food either for Friday and Saturday. I HAVE to do something to change my routine on Friday evening, because I seem to be espcially vulnerable on my way home from work. And once I start to slide, it takes me 24 hours to get myself together, it seems. Not sure how to fix this.
