Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted.

I was reading the posts about giving away the BIG clothes. I can't wait for that. My present pants are getting looser while I noticed today that I still have about 6 pairs of pants with tags still on them that I can't get in to. One day. One day.

This next week I need to get motivated more on the exercise front. I've just done the bare minimum this week and weight loss has stalled. Gee, do you think there is a connection? So back to some intensity. I want to see my little man move towards those mountains. I can do this.

Hi, team. I had to come into work today...ugh. I'm patiently waiting for our Oracle system to come online. Arghhhh....I forgot they do maintenance on Sunday mornings. Anyway, don't know how late I'll be here, so probably won't get my walk in today. Have a great Sunday, everyone.

Happy Saturday!!

today we have our friends coming over to visit and I am excited..

I have had my friend Connie over..
we used to live together in the same house, but that isn't the same...this time though we have a couple coming over that we have known for about 15 years.
We have known them since NC. Rick, who is the reason why my husband got a job out here is off the hook...
and Renee and I have been friends ever since our girls went to kindergarden together..
so we stayed in touch even after they moved up here..
they live in VA and we live in WV...
even though Rick and Tommy work for the same company...
we just like it here better than in VA and it is a heck of a lot cheaper to live as well.
anyways...I have to figure out if I want to cook or if we are going out, but that isn't so bad to chose from..*S*

Rick and Tommy are going to do some work on the house, mainly some of the electric stuff..because they are both GEEKS and NERDS..heehe...but you got to love that kind!!

everyone..have a great day

linda...congrats on not being in last place LOL my dad is on a bowling league and loves it.

susan...i'll have to see if my local costco has that bread. it sounds wonderful. if all else fails i might have to learn how to make bread LOL my mom was a baker but obviously i paid more attention to desserts than any other food item!

i had a different instructor today for water aerobics. now if i could only figure out their schedules. lucky i did go to the open house because i found out some more info on my middle child's progress. she seems to have a reading disability but showed great improvement before moving to our new home and hopefully they have her almost done with the program to get her on level with her classmates. they will be testing her within the next month to see where she is now. i was still a little bummed about missing a second water aerobics class for the day but by the time i got home from the school's open house my body was hurting!

this morning it was still hurting but i went to class anyway and feel better but just exhausted. i found out some of the seniors in my class go to a 45 minute strength training class before water aerobics 3 days a week...that is why some of them do not go thru the whole class. one guy said he has been coming to this gym for 40 years! wow.

well its time to get some chores done. i swear they mulitiply when i leave the house. hope you all have a fun, safe, and happy weekend!

GOOD MORNING

as you can see, I left a link for everyone...because I found a bread that I LOVE and that my husband does as well..

you can get it at Costco, but it has a list as well where you can purchase it..
but let me tell you it is yummy, it taste great as it is, even better a little toasted...

it is 8 grains, 98 percent fat free, NO TRANS FATS, great source of fiber and iron
well...you read for yourself...and it comes usually in a three pound loaf...
I am going back and freeze some..

and the slices are nice and thick and you won't feel cheated on your bread...how nice is that!!
okay, I just wanted to drop in and say good morning..

I am enjoying my cup of coffee..I got up late this morning, but ohhh my..the morning is so nice and cool...
I just love it that fall is announcing itself...

Hugs

Good Morning, everyone.

Kat - Susan is right - Give that too-big clothes away! When clothes is too big, it makes you look bigger than you are. I have given away bags and bags of clothes - the kind I used to just hang onto --just in case. No more! They are gone, just like the pounds I've lost - forever.

I had bowling last night - my team actually won 2 games. We are out of last place! LOL.

Susan - Congrats on those 2 lbs.!

Gotta get moving - lots of work to do. Going to see a play tonight, so I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

i did 90 minutes at the pool again. today's instructor was this perky young gal i love because she doesnt have us run all over the pool LOL the 'terminator' does a lot of "go in this direction 4 times then back 4 times" and by the time i hit 4 times and stop the momentum of my fat to go in the other direction its time to switch again. my fat has a mind of its own...too bad it couldnt decide on its own to just leave voluntarily! there is a night water aerobics which i had planned to hit tonight with dh but forgot about the school open house. darn, the girls are really excited about it so i guess i will have to wait until next week. the night classes are only tues/thurs. dh really is thinking of cutting off the club but i'm making a deal if i use it enough this month we'll keep it and he'll have to cut the budget somewhere else. he's holding off on cutting ediets too hopefully until christmas. now i wish i hadnt helped sil money-wise getting things for her baby and with free babysitting because it has hurt our budget. i told dh if the gym doesnt get used i'll drop it so i'm determined to show him that the money is worth it considering i pay $100 a month for it.

'biggest loser' was cool last night. LOVED the new gym on the show. i pray someday my garage can be turned into a personal gym! i wouldnt mind a hot tub too LOL. during water aerobics i was starting to get tired and thought if i was on biggest loser i couldnt quit...not to mention i would end up spending the time at home cleaning then i had the energy to finish.

well time to fix dinner. i'll check in later.

Kat, that is the way to do it!!
I threw away all my TOO BIG CLOTHES...make sure you do that as well and give yourself no excuses to get back in them.

doesn't it feel great to fit into your clothes that you used to wear??? and it is really like a new wardrobe!

I lost another two pounds!

and I truly believe it is because of one major change that I have made and am sticking to...and that is EATING BREAKFAST!!

Good morning sparks! A rainy day here & found it hard to drag myself out of bed this morning. This morning I went though my closet looking for clothes to wear. I am noticing a difference in how they fit. In fact, a blouse I bought last year which didn't quite fit at the time fit great this morning. I took it back off. Found another shirt I couldn't wear because it was too tight, and it fit as well. But I took that one back off too & put another shirt on that I had been wearing for quite some time. I was a little surprise at how much extra room I had. That's the shirt I stayed with though. I know the drill quite well since I have been down this path many times before. It will be nice when the roomy clothes are given up & I feel comfortable in those that were tight. It's a process. I will recycle my clothes & find new favorites that I couldn't wear for awhile. I am looking forward to opening my "new presents" to myself. OK...corny...but those are my thoughts this morning.

yes indeed you are the one then..
because I used to go over your pages and so on

it really helped me a lot when I started on ediets...*S*
so thanks a lot and glad to be crossing paths again with you

Natalie..
there is a lot of things to be said about being in front of the class heehee..
I drive them nuts usually
I have several younger "girls" that try to keep up with me especially in the power walking portion of one of our water aerobics and just can do it
the one thing I have is some powerful legs...
and my lungs are pretty good as well, even though I smoke...
and ahhhh please...no one..give me a hard time
I quit..I smoke..I quit..I smoke..
i go through phases, but between losing weight and the stress I go through, well...
I can't do it all...and even my doctor and my neurologist told me if it comes between losing weight and smoking I have to do the weightloss first...
even though they both stress that smoking is bad bad bad baddddddddddddddd
and believe me I KNOW...
but I am not smoking a lot, not like I used to, for one since I NEVER smoke in my house, I go outside...I don't smoke that much...
anyways...I know all the stuff that is bad for me including the bad things in the food department as well..
but don't we all????

JUDY...
ahhhhhhhhhh....it sounded so lovely the wonderful treatment you gave yourself
GOOD FOR YOU ..HUGS

LIISA..
darling..where are you???
you said you were ready to be back and involved..
now get your cute hiney in here before I have to start emailing you and get everyone else to fill up your email box as well..
which is by the way what I used to do on the Mateys team..
when someone when MIA...
I would have everyone start emailing them...
*LOL...or send them email cards...

okay..BIGGEST LOSER comes on tonight..yeahhhhhh

Good Afternoon,

WOW, last night was wonderful. I filled up the tub with nice warm water and soaked for hours. I know I washed a ton of dry dead skin off my leg that had the cast. Then I gentally smoothed lotion all over. It felt so good. Tomorrow I go have my hair done, color touchup and a slight trim. This will be with a new person so I hope all goes well. If not it will grow out. DD#2 goes to her.

This weekend will go over to our other house and pick up my scales, and food scales. I have been eyeing it for the past month and have no idea how much weight I put on over these past 6 weeks. I feel like a ton even tho I have tried to stay OP. Goes to show that even eyeing good food is not a good idea. Also want to pick up my bubble spa so I can really enjoy a soak in the tub.

I am rambling on about nothing but still elated by the removal of the cast. Now to get a car. DH wants to wait awhile but not me. I need transpartation and not have to depend on others.

Have a good day. I am.

Judy

GOOD AFTERNOON...

Linda..yeah for you..the CAST IS OFF...
and free of gadgets...

Natalie...hahaha...my problem during water exercise is because the pool I go to the water is actually quite low pfftt..that when we do some stuff..my stomach starts hitting the water edge and I always start joking that I am making all the waves...

you know...we all can lose weight like the BIGGEST LOSERS, just at different paces...
that is all...
we have to do it OUR WAY..to make sure we keep it off and not be a YO YO...
because bottom line is that being a YO YO is actually worse that staying the weight you are and eating healthier and working out..
and overdoing it can be just as bad..

Kat...do you have your own webpage??? because I bet you are the ONE..

well, I have actually unpacked four boxes this morning and done some laundry..
didn't do much yesterday, I just couldn't...

there is a lot of stuff going on with our 19 year old daughter and it is draining everything out of me, that I have to sometimes simply bury it inside of me to move on...not the best thing to do, but this is how I deal with a lot of hmmm bad things...
hey..that is why I am depressed and why I have been in therapy for years and years...pfft..

okay..anyways....I am okay for now..*S

Hugs
Susan
and yes..I am eating healthy and taking care of myself..*S*

have a great day

Hi, team. On-plan and not having problems with being hungry. Don't know what was going on over the weekend, but I felt hungry all the time. Whew....glad that's over.

Kat - I've subscribed to "fitpod" and "Exercise Radio". I actually haven't really used the latter yet. From fitpod, I downloaded several mixes, but the one I've been using is A Walk in the Park - 130 bpm (1 hr.). I really recommend this. It keeps you walking at a good pace - even if you TRY to slow down.

Judy - Yay - the cast is off!

Gotta get going. I need to get some extra hours in at work.

lisa...the quote beneath my name is from the book "the courage to start: a guide to running for your life" by john bingham who was nicknamed "the penquin" because he claims to have waddled in the beginning of running his life LOL. he lost weight when he one day put on his shoes to walk and ended up running marathons down the road. its a great book and a quick read. he has a group called 'the penquin brigade" who are people of all shapes & sizes that want to run or like me: waddle :) he now does a column in runners world i believe. he's a cool guy.

well i did another 90 minutes of water aerobics today. the instructor today i will dub 'the terminator' because i think i'm gonna die during her class LOL. in fact after class she mentioned "you looked like you were really working hard" and all i could think was i was praying class would end before needing my asthma inhaler! i did it before class and obviously i didnt do it enough. half the class dropped before the end. i'm the biggest person in the class and i'm glad everyone is too busy to see my butt shaking under the water...does shaking constantly add to my calorie expenditure??? i swear it also takes more effort to stay in one spot on some of the exercises when my fat wants to float somewhere else! i stuck it thru to the end and rewarded myself with a minute in the hot tub...its all the time i could take and not be late picking up the youngest from school. now 3 hours later my body is aching. i was going to attempt to hit the night class to see how it relates to the day classes but i think my body might rebel or pass out...either way that might not be pretty in public (evil smirk)

tomorrow the biggest loser is on NBC. i'm so excited! i love that show. dh swears i can lose weight like that and i'm thinking...HOW? do i really have the time with three kids, a puppy, and dh to devote the amount of time they do on the show? i doubt it. it sounds like they exercise non-stop. i'm doing well this week hitting the time i am which is more than usual. the scale isnt budging much from the last few weeks because most of my exercising has been strength training, flexibility, or stretching. i decided i'll never get far unless i go gung-ho more on cardio.

well time to get a few other things done before child #2 has to be picked up from school and dh gets home. dh forgot to pay the trash & they suspended my service and trash day is tomorrow. hoping i can settle it today because no way i can go another week without a pick up.

hope you all have a great week! stay dry :)

Natalie - WOW! I cannot believe the amount of exercise you get in all the time. I need to plan my day better! :)

Linda - I will have to check out podrunner music for my ipod. Which one do you have? I like listening to podcasts, and audiobooks, but should really switch to fast-beat music for exercise I suppose. ;)

Lisa - I like your new mantra...I should make it mine too!

Susan - I might have been the person to help you with some web stuff. I remember that you posted on our thread quite a bit when we were doing a team challenge & I always enjoyed your posts...even though you threatened to kick our butts. Ha! :) You're doing great!

So far so good today. I ended up spending my lunch hour doing my strength training in my office...and before that I walked the building (2 stories) over & over for about 20 min. Now if I can get some extra cardio in tonight that would be just peachy. (Hmmm...wondering if I brought a peach in my lunch today...better check!)

Hi, all!

Lisa - I download the podrunner stuff through iTunes, but I think you can get them from www.djsteveboy.com. iTunes does have a lot more variety, though.

Hi everyone..*S

Kat,
are you the lady that used to help me with some web stuff??
when I first joined ediets about two years ago...Kat was on ediets and I talked to Kat once in a while..just wanted to see if I could make a connection there..*S*

TINA..
HUGS HUGS HUGS
personally..speaking from experience...
even now I find there are times that hit me when I miss my mother and I go through some days that are hard, and then I come through them and find some wonderful memories...
I however have a different history of course with my mother..a long and hard and painful road..

with you and your dad...I think it is more than okay for you to to miss him and have those days..!
I shut down and off and simply didn't talk about my mother for a long long time which was a mistake I made..
so for you..HOORAH and yeahhhhhh..because it is wonderful to talk about someone that you love and care for...
it is important to do so, because it is all part of the grieving process
not to mention...YOU WANT TO CELEBRATE the life of someone that you loved so much..
hey..after all..I think he has a pretty wonderful and terrific daughter
as far as you working through all those other issues, that is what you will do..
no matter how long it will take you, I KNOW and believe YOU WILL DO IT..
all that love you have and support you have shown for your friends, such as Chris..and everyone else..
I know you have some to spare for yourself..*S*

hey...if I find some inside of me..then I know anyone can do it..
it took me over two years to lose 53 pounds..I am a slow slow slow loser...but I am okay with that...
I got another 100 to go...
so in four years...voila..*LOL...I will be all set and ready....not bad...so that is still before I am 50...wow..*G*

anyways..

I have to grab some coffee...

and then unpack a few more boxes...I might get all that done in a year or so as well..LOL

Hugs to everyone

Susan

Linda, where is the link for that ipod thing. That sounds fun.

Susan, glad to have you back. Wow, look at your weight loss ticker. You are really moving. Your fanny looked smaller as you streaked through yesterday. Hm, maybe I should give that a try.

Tina, {{{{HUGS}}}} Maybe your dream was just that he will always be with you in spirit. He just came back to remind you. Plus I believe that spirits do visit us in dreams and such. No I’m not a kook. ;-) What color would be an appetite suppressor?

Judy, aren’t you a brave soul letting your dd decorate. If I did that, everything would be pink and orange. A year has passed already? I remember when you put first up the pic of Zachary.

Kat, way to go on doing your exercise even though you didn’t feel like it.

Natalie, I’m glad you like your IUD. I like it when I have my regular periods. I had one day this month. I could almost wear a band-aid.
I love your quote with your signature

Well, that’s it for me. I need to go eat breakfast. I think some salsa eggs is on the menu and then do some housework.

I have been on a weight loss roll and I want to continue. I am consistent. I am consistent.

That is my new mantra.

Lisa

Tina - I bought Nike Dual-D's - they have maximum stability, which I need since I have problem feet.

tina...hope things start going better for you soon.

susan...those wet footprints on the deck of my ship werent much of a bother since it rained today LOL i went to water aerobics today and kicked some fat butt! but i gotta tell you those senior citizens in my class can really kick butt. i'm so glad to know as of today that that class fits into my current school schedule for my kids. btw, dh mentioned red for our kitchen too. i agree its hard because you want the "right" shade. dang i have FOUR blue color swatches on my bedroom wall right now. its driving dh nuts LOL

linda...thanks for starting a new thread. iuds have come a long way. i was having really bad cramps the first day but since it was the first day of my period it wasn't too bad a of deal since mine are usually terrible to start with and actually the iud helped immediately which is weird i think. i'm hoping it works permanently cuz dh is more spry now knowing we can do anything at a moments notice (naughty grin) and it is making life a little more fun the last few days ROTFLOL!!! a lady never kisses and tells!

judy...praying you get your cast off tomorrow. my poor son has one on his arm/wrist for the next month and it has only been a little while and its driving all of us nuts. i can only imagine how difficult you've had it!

kat...way to go on the elliptical. something is better than nothing and 50 minutes is doing great!

well i'm burning up the calories today. i've done OARS, the strength training on sparkpeople, then 90 minutes at the pool. i'm tired but a good tired. hopefully i can do it again tomorrow :)

hope you all have an amazing week! stay warm...

Busy weekend here. We had DGS until Sunday evening & then stopped by the store on the way home. Got home late & I was tired. I knew that today I was supposed to do cardio & strength. I almost threw in the towel & did neither. Then I decided to just watch one show on DVR while doing elliptical. I got in 50 minutes that I didn't think I'd do. I should do strength too, but too tired.

Well, I have lost 7 pounds in the last three weeks. (Well, that's 7 that I know about because the first 2 days I was afraid to step on the scales...LOL!) I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Good Morning,

DD#2 and I went shopping Saturday for household decorations. I have given her permission to decorate my new house as she wants to. Also wanted to pick up some new things. Did buy a nice set of sheets, 600 count, for half price. Also got a good price on some really nice bath towels etc. I bought new sets for both bathrooms. My old worn out stuff will be used as rags.

Our youngest grandson, Zackary, is now walking all the time. He started walking a few steps about a month ago but over the weekend he realized he could walk all the time. He is 1 yr old and a few days.

If everything looks good I hope to get this cast off my leg tomorrow. I know I have put more weight on it than I should but when you are moving it can't be helped.

Susan, good to see you. We still have a lot of things to move over from our old house but right now are not in too much of a hurry.

I want to get the rest of my china over and some old pieces of Fiesta Dish ware that I have. It is not the new ones which I also have. We are lucky and do not need to repaint any of this house. The people who owned it before us had just finished redoing everything, walls, floors etc when they were transferred. The only thing we are doing is putting up new wood blinds and the will add molding around the windows to do away with any need for curtains. Also have to call and order a shower door for the tub/shower in our bedroom. It looks like there had been one but it has been removed. I also want our son to give us a price on a new window in the back door that goes to the deck that has the blinds between the glass.

I better do my housecleaning for the day or it will get away from me and I will not hear the end of it. It is nice to have a cleaning service come in on Friday to do the other cleaning. I just have to make sure I keep things picked up during the day.

Have a good day and I will report after the doctor tomorrow. Sure hope I can walk again.

Judy

Good Morning All,

I've been trying to work through my problems.

I got my Cpap machine Thursday, getting used to it, but it does get in the way of a comfortable position.

I went down to Dad's house this weekend, but just could not get anything done. I HAVE to get his house cleared out. Wednesday night I dreamed that he turned up alive and said he had "just been away for awhile". Kind of freaked me out. I guess I'm having a harder time adjusting to him being gone that I thought I would.

Linda--what kind of running shoes did you get? I have so much trouble with my feet.

Susan--Good to see you enjoying getting your house put together. I don't know about red in the kitchen or dining room, they say Red is a appetite motivator. How about red in the bedroom.

Who all is going to Chicago weekend of Oct. 6? It is just around the corner.

I had oatmeal this morning, I have trouble getting it down, but it is good for you and my eating is out of control. I need to do better.

Ok, everyone have a great day, Tina

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE..*S*

Linda..Hugs..
thank you so much for starting a weekly thread once again...
I enjoy having a weekly thread and being able to stay on top of things versus a daily thread.

Glad you got to walk as well..

I am set on doing things in this house today! I have to rearrange my kitchen counters, because the working space..well..it isn't working for me at all.
I have to go to Benjamin Moore and do some paint samples for the kitchen cabinets, because oohhh yeah...I am going for RED on the kitchen cabinets, but it has to be the right kind of red of course..

anyways..I have to do some unpacking as well..in other words...busy busy busy...and maybe even cut some grass tonight. That would give me some more exercise as well..after all...a quarter acre by lawn mower isn't anything to sneeze at eh???

because after tonight we are supposed to get once again quite a bit of rain....

YOLANDA.......
I do hope we get to see you here once in a while..*S*
Hugs

for that matter...WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE???
ggeezzz...
I know that on weekends a lot of people hmmm take off..but it has been a bit too slow..

and really....unless your computer blew up...
I think more people should have checked in..ha ha ha..
really...
I guess I just want to know what is going on, with EVERYONE...
and there are so many people that I DO NOT KNOW..
since I have been out of commission for so long..that I am ready..

HUGS
and have a great great monday

you know..I am off to get my second cup of COFFEE

ohhh yeah, the simple pleasures of life, ahhhhhhhh

Hi Team - Starting a new week and a new thread.

Susan - It was good to read your babbling once again. We missed you! And congrats on your weight loss milestone! Hey, I have a Weedhound! It's my favorite garden tool. I have loads of dandelions and thistles, and that thingy is a godsend!

Natalie - Wow, I feel like an old fart. Back in the day, when I tried an IUD, it gave me cramps! Times change, I guess.

Susan - I started knitting again to keep my hands busy in the evenings. I'm sure that uses up some calories.......

I tried out my new running shoes yesterday. Walked over 2 miles without any shim splints or foot problems AT ALL! The only reason I left the park was because the bathroom looked a little scary. I have to say that I really love, love, love the podrunner cardio mix downloads for my ipod. If you haven't tried them, DO.

Gotta get going - have alot of work to do today.

Linda
