...personally..*G*
I think...do what my HUSBAND DID..SNIP SNIP...and it is all done..*LOL..
no things in me...no pills..NADA...
he had to do the pea bag thing a few days...a bit of discomfort..and he was done....
he complained just a teeenyyyy tiny bit, but then I would gently remind him that he never had to have a baby...*LOL..
but he was the one that wanted to have it done and I am glad, because I needed to come off the pill and there really wasn't any other alternative for us other than condoms....and so he was ready for the SNIP SNIP...

I am blessed..never had any cramps..however..I do have very very have periods..
but I understand after my last exam with the sonogra m etc..that I have a few tiny fibroids and that is normal...
plus heavier women often experience heavier periods as well..
but once you start exercising often the periods get much better...even before weightloss occurs (not in every one..but in a lot of us..*S*)

I think quilting may burn a few calories...heehee..because even sleeping burns calories....

so there is hope yet for you gals..keep it up

I should not be allowed to ever shop at HOME DEPOT by myself..
I was only trying to buy hand rack towels and toilet thingy magingy and a robe hook...
and look at my color for my cabinet that I am going to paint in my bathroom and then the wall color..
and what do I do??
I spend over two hours there...
geezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

plus I hated either all the towel racks or they were so expensive, because we are going with brushed satin..and well..I do have taste..
that I wasn't going to spend over 200 bucks on a set..
but...ohhh my oohhh my...
I lucked up in the hardware department...yeahhh me..
when I was looking for screws and such...
I found the PERFECT thing and it is soooo european and soooo me...
and I don't think I can explain it..

but it is basically like how kids or grown ups would hang their coats on..

you know...like a piece of wood with hooks on them...

so this is a great nice beautiful piece of white board with four double hooks on it..so in other words it would hold eight towels...
and so I bought two..
and even though it is white, I can paint it any way I like once I decide on my bathroom color...
hey..it is white right now...

and the hooks were brushed satin...
so I went back into the expensive department and did splurge on the absolute stunning bathroom tissue holder, that is open where you just slide the roll on, and it is sorta curved and very euro looking as well...

anyways....
then I found the WEED HOUND....yeahhhhhhhhh...
this took you step on and it pushed into the ground to pull out nasty big old weed plants in your grass and stuff..
I did go outside to "play" with it...hmmmm...I have to see if I can figure it out..*LOL

soooo...between all this stuff...I didn't spend a lot at all...
just a lot of time...phew

and I still have to buy the paint, but I will do that tomorrow, I just was about to have my head explode on aisle 14....

I swear...shopping at Home Depot...or anything for your house..
is better than grocery shopping...!!!!!!!

and I am off to hgtv.com because I LOVE to read that stuff as well...
and I am so hooked on the shows right now I can't even tell all of you right now....

okay...off I go...

HUGS
Susan

Welcome back, Susan we missed your babbling. emoticon
Funny how I was thinking about you earlier and look here you are. Yeah on the weight loss.

Natalie, I had a Mirena put in almost a year ago. I like my pills better. With them I didn't have any symptoms of any kind, but I had been on them for 11 years straight and I'm 42 and my mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer plus I already had 2 aunts with breast cancer and 2 other great aunts and a greatgrandmother die of breast cancer. So I don't need the estrogen. What I don't like about the Mirena is the lack of a regular period. I'll go three to four months and not have one and then I'll have one for about 2-3 days. Which would wonderful, but my hormones keep building up and building up and I'm either throwing things at my family or laying in bed crying with the covers over my head. My dr keeps saying my body will straighten itself out and then eventually I'll have no periods. I might be divorced by then. ;-) I was really hoping for some weight loss after I went off the pill but alas that didn't happen. My niece gained a bunch of weight on her Mirena since she has taken it out she is losing. I have a friend who has had trouble losing weight with her Mirena for 18 months now. I myself am taking the attitude of It may stall my progress but I'm just going to have to work harder to lose weight. I lost another pound this week. That makes 4 in 4 weeks. Yeah me.

Hello to the rest of you. I'll try to pop in later for more personals.

Off to finish up my weights.

Lisa

Natalie, I'm with you in wishing that quilting would burn up more calories! I haven't done any charity quilts yet, although I have bought the fabric for a few. I've been working on quilts for my niece, nephews and granddaughters. I've got three at a quilter's right now and I can't wait to see them when she finishes. She does such wonderful work. I need to make a quilt for my daughter too. Oh my! I've got a lot of work ahead of me. Are you sure it doesn't burn a lot of calories??? All of that getting up and down to press the seams and stuff... it's got to be worth something. emoticon I love doing it anyway, and the bonus is that while I am sewing I am NOT eating. And for a DOUBLE BONUS, while I sew, I seem to get very thirsty, so I end up drinking lots of water. So it's not all bad. I just wish I could get more time for this new hobby of mine. One of these days I'll put up a webshots page with my finished projects like the ladies on About.com do. They have some wonderful work to look at.

Speaking of 'work' I've got to go and get ready to go to work. Yuck, I hate when I have to work weekends. Especially when I feel like I feel today. I am coming down with a cold and the cold might just win this battle. Time for lots of fluids and chicken soup.

susan...hope all went well with the move.

sorry i have been awol. i have these charity quilts that were due a month ago and of course my sewing machine went nuts and i'm way behind but as of tonight i'm on the downside of having it 75% done and i'm doing the happy dance as my back is killing me. too bad sewing doesnt burn more calories LOL.

its been so weird to have 2 hours to run where i want while the kids in school (the youngest is in kindergarten) and monday it's back to water aerobics on a set schedule and i'm so pumped. I LOVE that class! its been hit & miss all summer. i figured with my current schedule i can go 4x a week guaranteed unless a child ends up sick. i'm tired of losing & gaining the same 10 lbs! i had an IUD placed monday and it has already made a difference in my cycle where i can function during "aunt flo's visit" whereas sometimes i could barely get out of bed from the pain of the cramps. not to mention i felt bad not being able to wear tampons because of the extreme discomfort to go to water aerobics during my cycle only to find out my uterus is tilted weird and that is why. if anyone is thinking of an IUD get a mirena...after a week i'm quite pleased. enough 'girl talk' time for bed!!! i have church early in the morning.

hope you all have a wonderful week!

GOOD MORNING!!

Wow...
I can't believe I get to post TWICE in a row...yeahhh

now I can take some time to read the posts and reply to them in peace and quiet and maybe release some stress in the process..

LONG LONG STORY...

first..

SUSAN..HUGS HUGS HUGS..
I am doing the happy dance with you...
of course..I did set my coffee down first, because as much as I love you, I am not spilling any coffee, because then I might have to lick it off...*LOL
now is he going to STAY HOME????
I do hope so!!!
I am glad he looks good and I am sure he is looking forward to more of your cooking..*S*
HUGS...
keep on dancing...it is good for your body!!!

Robin..
good for you....
I am not sure my hubby would ever go to the gym for me...
but his job is physical enough, plus the stuff he has to do around the house..
HUGS

LIISA
WELCOME WELCOME baaaaaaaackkkkkk!
yeah...this team has grown hasn't it..*S*

or we could do three...

I mean..two ships competing..and an island for those that are "on leave" so to speak...
of course..we aren't going to do SHIPS...we are going to be original and much more savvy..because we are well...SPECIAL..heehee..more special then we know..right??? *LMAO

now...where is everyone..
they are lurking..and they are waiting for some babbling idiot to leave bread crumbs out..
or wait..

put out a pot of coffee...
because you know there will be NO DONUTS...nope...no way...

JUDY..

Ohhhh my dear friend...
your cast is about to come off..
I know you will be about to embark back on your journey and soon you will be showing ALL OF US how to get back into shape..
did you miss doing your exercises like you were doing???
I BET YOU DID!!! come on...admit it!!!!
heeheee...you are dying to get back into the gym...and strut your stuff and waive the arms and move those legs....
I know you want to show them all..and us as well...yep..I know you do..*wink

HUGS...

Michelle..

If we go for money in our competition...we can maybe use a PAYPAL account and add it into it..
and that way we can send a check to the WINNER and not send money all over the country either..

or maybe something else that would be free...anyone know of anything..
not that Paypal costs alot..
I use it for ebay...
sending money is free...
taking in money takes a few cents off ...
so we would have to think about it..
but maybe there is something we can actually put money into where we can even earn some interest??

AND maybe we can even do it so that we can donate the money to a GREAT AND WORTHY CAUSE?????
now that would be really cool!!

Linda..
I have a few plumbing issues..
wanna come over???
Hubby can fix them...he just doesn't have the time..
he is working 15 days in a row right now and he is just tired, plus all the projects he is doing in the new house.
and me...I am not even unpacked..no where near..*sigh

did I mention I hate unpacking??? *LOL

okay...
that is it for me for now...

I was going to talk about all the crap I am going through with my Dear darling sweet daughter, but I am too tired right now and well..hmmm..frankly...
I don't think I really want to think about it right now..
sooooooooo

for now...
I am sending HUGS to all of you!!
to all of you that have posted, that are lurking....that will come in...etc...etc..and blah blah blah

have a great great day...

Hi everyone..

I know I have been gone quite a while, but as most of you know...I have bought a house and I had to MOVE...
and I finally did!!
Last week I started borrowing Hubby's lap top and I tried to get into this thread and it would not let me...and I was soooooooo frustrated.
Tonight I am on my daughters new lap top and I am sooooo excited to finally be able to post and catch up a bit...
I can't believe how many new people are here and how many great faces ..and yeahhhh I know most of them..heehee

did I mention I hate unpacking????
geeez....I have boxes in my third bedroom and I can't seem to get them unpacked...
I have worked on the yard a bit today and I started taking care of myself again..

yes..I LOST WEIGHT...whoooooooo hoooowwwwwwhoooooo

I am at 294 ponds and it is NOT STRESS WEIGHT LOSS it is actual good weight loss..

I am eating breakfast EVERY SINGLE MORNING and that is the main thing that I am trying to change..to eat in the morning and not skip eating...

Of course moving alone was one heck of a workout..my hand and arms and ohhh my gawd..my poor fingers were so swollen..*sigh

but working out in the yard should give me quite a bit of extra workouts!!!
I have days as always where I am really battling depression and I have a hard time leaving the house or doing anything. But I am moving forward and that is something to be proud of and I am patting myself on the back for that.
Maybe I am just wigging out that I have this big house..and no..it isn't like BIG..it is just big to me...
big maybe because I now have a REAL PAYMENT instead of rent...I don't know...*LOL

but in the end...it was the right thing to do and all will be okay..and I know this!!

ohhhh...
I did do my tests *S*
my thyroid is great...and then my doctor started talking about my blood and diabetes...so he pricked my finger..and guess what???
nope...I am perfect..heeehee..and I knew I would be..

had my mammagram done yesterday...also had my ovaries and uterus done by sonnagram..and all is great on that part...
of course the mammagram..you get those results later...but...hey....I had my boobies all flattened out...like a stack of flap jacks....

now...

I didn't read everything...just scanned over some of the posts...
I will be back tomorrow and really read..
I did catch on some of the competition etc...and as I said, I will have to really read everything, but I am always up for competition and I will always go with the majority..

and YEAHHHHHHHHHHH GNOMIE needs to travel again...heheee...he always likes it when he gets around...

and I can always put his pictures on my other website so we can share his travels..

I think I am done for tonight...hmmmm....

I hope everyone will have a great great weekend

HUGS

I get enough competition on my "ship". :-) Actually, I've often thought it would be nice to have my group of ladies just supporting each other without having to keep track of everything with the exception of how much weight we are losing.

But I wouldn't be opposed if you all competed.

Today, I did much better.

Hi All,

I'm a former Marvelous Matey that has yet to post because I've been wondering where the action was. I was thinking I was missing something. I think some friendly competition would be great. Weekly goals to aim towards, exercise, sticking to diet, posting on the thread, etc. Teams might be necessary if we got enough people to participate.

And, I'm a big fan of prizes for the weekly winner. If people wanted to participate we could all agree to help out by rewarding silly prizes that could be sent in the mail to the winner. People sending prizes would sign up for a specific week, we could agree upon a dollar amount, like $5, and then have some fun rewardiing each other. One thing we also did on the Mateys was send around a mascot, Gnomie. He's a little plastic fellow that has traveled the world. I'd be more than happy to send him out as some type of reward, or just for fun.

I'm all about motivating each other in a positive, energetic and fun way.

Michelle

Never give up and you'll always be a winner!

Liisa, I have noticed the lack of participation too. Where is everyone??? I know that back on our "ships" we were a very chatty bunch, so I think you might have a good idea about starting up some competition. Hmmm, what can we come up with? I'm sure that if we all put our heads together we can put together something good and fun.

Good Morning - Welcome back Liisa!

I'm still unmotivated....I've been doing some yoga because I'm having some aches and pains here and there - thought that might help. Time will tell.

A little competition might not hurt. Don't know if that would get everyone involved and posting, tho. It's been pretty sparse this week.

Have a good day everyone - I have to get to work early.

Okay – I’m ready to be active here again. Welcome me :-) Forgive me :-)

Linda, exercising even though you are unmotivated? That is awesome! What types of exercise have you been doing?

Robin, that is so great you guys are going to the gym together! Let us know how it goes.

Lisa, consistency sounds good to me to. Do it!

Susan, I am so happy DS is back. Keep doing that happy dance and you’ll burn a few extra calories!

Judy, 7 days till the cast is off? YAY!!!

There are so many members here – 29. Where is everyone? I haven’t really been here, does it work to have everyone post on the same thread? Or has anyone thought at all about a friendly competition? Maybe 2 teams…or ships, perhaps? Just a thought…

Lisa

Susan - have you stopped doing the happy dance yet? Great news!

I'm doing the happy dance too - My new fridge is being delivered Friday! Okay, it doesn't take much....

I've been on plan and have been forcing myself to exercise....I'm finding it hard to motivate myself these days.

Too busy to answer personals properly now, I'll do that tonight. This week has been a whirlwind.

I need to get back to my consistant behavior I was showing a few weeks ago and journaling every night, etc.
Exercise and food are good. I could do better on the water. That never changes.

Susan that is fantastic that your son is home safe and sound. You must be so happy and proud of him.

This week has started off hectic with Tyler and his school work. Sometimes I think pulling teeth is easier than motivating him to do homework somedays.
We are going to the psychologist tomorrow hopefully he will have some good suggestions on homework time. I am running out of ideas.

Enough complaining I have already walked over 10,000 steps today. I am trying to get up to 12,000 a day.
Got to go and get dinner started pot roast and lots of veggies.

He's home! I've been out doing the Happy Dance over the weekend! Those of you who know me from before know instantly what I am talking about. For the rest of you that I have just met, I'll explain... my son, Dru, has just gotten home from Iraq. YEAH!!! He was gone for a year, and it was great to see him come home again. He looks good and he looks really happy. So anyway, that is where I've been and why I haven't been around SP for a few days. Now I see something about "points until next trophy"? What is that all about? Things are continuously changing around here, aren't they? I didn't do too bad eating while I was away and eating restaraunt food. I just asked myself "how do you want to fuel your body?" or "why would you put that garbage into your body?" Self-talk is very powerful, right? Anyway, it worked.

Well, I've got to go now. Lots of email to dig through. SP was my first stop.

***More Happy Dancing Here!!***

HE'S BACK! YIPPEE!!!

Hi, team! Had a plumbing problem this morning, and didn't have time to post. I fixed it when I got home, so I don't have to pay for a plumber. Yay! Going to do some yoga tonight - I need to s-t-r-e-t-c-h!
