Hi all-

Thanks for the heads up Liisa. I didn't realize there were daily threads up.

I got to sleep early, but my dad woke me up with a phone call. We're having some issues with the builder of the condo we put an offer on. They changed the floor plan of the bathroom on us, and we don't like the new layout. We plan to meet with the builder and ask them to make the changes back to the floor plan we agreed on. While on the phone with dad, the tornado sirens went off. So I've been watching the weather and the storm track for the last 45 mins. Now it has passed and I can try to get back to sleep.

Trying to balance living in the present and planning for the future. Not an easy task. I've spent so much of my last years looking to the future with getting my Ph.D. and looking for jobs, but now I feel like I need to live in the present. So I think I'm going to go for this condo and deal with the consequences. I really feel like it'll be good for me and DH in the long run.

Judy- good luck! Moving is never fun, but it'll be worth it.

Liisa- Why does your ear hurt? I'll race you in pedometer steps tomorrow.

Marge- You sounds like such a sweetheart!

Karen and Linda- Do you live in the Chicago area? Is Paulette coming to visit soon? We should have an outing. I'm in Madison, WI.

Susan- Good job for taking care of YOU first! I keep reminding myself that the voice of the 2 yr old throwing the tantrum saying "ME FIRST!" is OK to follow from time to time. HUGS.

I need HELP.

My DD&DSIL brought over one of their trailors (covered) and want to start moving us out Friday Morning and be at the new house waiting for us to come with the keys after closing.

Okay, here is my plan
This evening clean out and off the bedroom dresser, DH will have to do his chest this weekend.

Tomorrow Take all shelves and drawers out of refigerator and freeze and clean both sides and all.
Clean Microwave
Get comoputer ready to move and the table DH made. It is heavy but the legs come off.


Friday DD is taking off work and I will let her pack up my china and crystal while I pack my daily dishes. Right now I have all access to my living and dinning rooms blocked and the walker or WC can not get in there.
At:30 Close on new house then go over there and let everyone in.

All utilities well be transfered to us Friday, Saturday the phone will transfer and our present number turned off. It is rough, after having the same number for 37 years I am having to learn a new one.
Our TV satalite will not be hooked up until Sept. 1st. Darn I will have to be satisfied with local stations.

I still need to transfere the mail and paper. So much to do in just 48 hours.

Okay you have heard enough from me. One thing is good I am eating or wanting food less and inhaling the water.

DD&DSIL are on their way to bring over one of their two trailers to start our move on Saturday.

Liisa. Wow, great going on the walking. Wish I could walk right now. When this cast comes off DD and I are joining a health club together so we will make each other exercise.

They should be driving up soon. Have some clothes ready for DD to hang in closet and a few other things.

I will be glad when this move is over or wish I had 2 more months instead of two days.

I am at over 7000 steps so far and it is only 2pm! I still plan on taking a 10 minute walk after work.

Susan - you resigned to? EMAIL ME!

Glug, glug! Only 6 glasses of water so far. And 1 fruit. And 2 veggies. I gotta get going!

Ooooo, poor Liisa! Are you taking a decongestant, as well as the amox? I get sinus infections alot, and it always takes awhile to get rid of the "stuffiness" in my ears.

Hello, ladies! I found you! Haha! I will have to check this new thingy out a little more before I am comfortable. Hope everyone is well. I am doing okay. Not great, but okay. I lost about 10 lbs that I had gained but at least I am still in the negative range.

My grandkids are moving tomorrow! I will be going over to say good bye tonight.

I will have to read up and get more acquainted with those I do not know---

Hello everyone..*S*

I will try to read everything tonight!

Just stopping by to check in.

I have to go to the doctor today to have my medications checked out. Which means one hour drive..etc..
plus workout tonight as well (YOGA)..

I just resigned as the LO Watch Officer - I just had to do it...
I have a ton of reasons including moving and having to get my new home set up. I want to try gardening...so I have to spend a lot of time doing things for myself and my family...
this will free up a lot of time and get me off the computer as well...those are GOOD THINGS..for me!!

I am so exhausted. Apparently I did not get much rest last night at the sleep center. How can you with all those wires attached to you, you look like you are from another planet. The Tech said I snored all night and did have some activity that looks like I may need to use the c-pap, I should get my results in a couple days. I left my pillow there, but luckily a co-worker lives near there and picked it for me on her way in to work.

I stopped at Perkins for breakfast this morning, I had a tomoato and mushroom omelet and hot tea. Tasty.

Welcome, Marge--as you can see I still have to get all my goodies together. The ticker, my spark page, all kinds of things to explore on this site.

Karen--I am jealous, I would have shopped right along with you on the scrapbook marathon. emoticon

Hi Marge,

Glad you found us! I'll try to answer you questions quickly because I see that you are still online...
The ticker at the bottom of the posts is offered by SP. I forget exactly where they ask if you want one and where you choose the style and all that, but if you start looking around your profiles and stuff, you might be able to find it.
The picture that is in the box to the left like in mine is from mvm.com (my virtual model) You cut and paste the model you make there into your Sparkpage I think is what I did. Or if you have another picture you'd rather use, just copy and paste that one.
I think there is a lot of trial and error necessary to using this site right now because there is so much in here! Anyway, hopefully I'm getting this to you while you still have a chance to try it.

Hi Everybody!

It will take me a while to get all of you straightened out, but I am really pleased to have found this group. Really Liisa found me and I am so glad!
A few weeks ago I stepped on the scale and it read--179.5 pounds. (Don't faint Liisa--I've really packed on the pounds recently). Right then and there I decided I had to do something. I use my own ideas as I haven't found a "diet" that seems healthy, meets my needs, and that I can stick to. I am watching my portions, getting rid of all that snack type food, and trying to eat more veggies. I also have started walking at lunch time again. I m up to 20 minutes a day 5 days a week. Something must be working because I was at 175 when I weighed myself yesterday. Also, while I put down how much I would like to use, I am really just concentrating on doing what I should be doing today and not thinking--or at least trying not to think about--tomorrow or next weigh-in or even farther down the road.
Right now I am recieving treatment for an injured back and that twenty minutes can seem like forever by the time I am finished, but I try to walk thru the pain and I am doing it. The therapist says this amount of walking is o.k.
Now, some questions--How do I get that image that so many of you have at the bottom of your posts. It is the one with your goals on it. Also, how do you get the images that you have in the box with your name?

I'm up and getting ready to exercise. This will be 3 days in a row...Yeah!!

Paulette...Always keep that water by your side. I always drink 32 oz. during my exercising. I tell myself I have to drink at least 32 before I am allowed to drink anything else. For some reason it works for me...I know it is all pshychological. Baby steps you know! Are you coming to Chicago in October?

Liisa...Glad to see you are feeling better. Eating out is always tough for me. We are going out tomorrow after Zachary's first day of school. He wants to go to "John Silvers". Ugh! Luckily there is a taco bell in there too so I can find something that will work for me. Hopefully I can just stick with it...I usually change my mind once I start smelling the food.

Paulette - just keep that bottle filled and you will get those waters in!

Have my first mini breakfast in (hard boiled egg and juice) and then will have the second half later (nutrigrain bar). I have a salad packed for fast food day and am good to go. My ear still hurts though. Got my pedometer on!!!

Hi, everyone. Posting will probably be sparse for the next month. This is my busy time at work, so I'll be putting in more hours and not too much time to take a break for personal stuff. I hate when I have to work at work!
Tonight will be a challenge. DSO is taking me out to dinner at a new favorite of ours. The good thing is that I know I can get "legal" food there, and the real reason for going is the whole dining experience, not just the food. You people in the Chicago area need to try Gamba Ristorante in Merrillville, Indiana. We've know the owner for years at his old place. He had this new place built last February.

Anyway, gotta get going to work....Ughh
