I drink tea at least twice a day.
In the morning, I have green tea and ginger grated into it.
At night, I have hot Sweet Dream herb tea.

My favorites teas are Earl Grey, Constant comment,
Raspberry Royale, Vanilla Chai, plus the above named.

My favorite "tea food" is homemade clotted cream,
lemon curd, and blueberry scones
.

I'm not sure the difference tween daily activity and tea chat....

Anyway today 12 of us ladies went to Miss Molly's tea room in Medina Ohio. It is a wonderful activity. You can google it on line and check it out. A wonderful event planned by a young member.

A Victorian Christmas Tea Party:
rows of white "fairy" lights can be used on mantels, through artificial trees, around anything you want to decorate.
Pine bough garlands can be homemade like in days of old.
The gentlemen are invited to wear suits.
Women can choose to wear high necked ruffled blouses and a long skirt.
A short reading from Charles Dickens is a good choice.
Borrow a silver tea service on a fancy tray.
Dainty sandwiches topped with lemon, cucumber, a curl of carrot, watercress, smoked salmon etc.
Make scones ahead of time. Buttermilk with dried cranberries is a festive option.
Tea cake that can be cut into enough servings, maybe an almond flavour?
Clotted cream is not easy to find in Canada or America. Google it for similar options.
Ever made canapés? Try goat cheese and mille herbs, tomato tapanade. There are 1,000's of fabulous recipes out there.
An old Christmas carol may be enjoyed at the end.

On November 3 I had an Asian tea birthday party for two 9 and 11 girls. They wore Asian dress, Asian tea in little cups, and a guest from Korea to tell about life there

The theme, "An After-Ski Tea" in written down.
Hot tea and a snack are just the thing for folks who have spent time outdoors doing any sort of exercise!

She introduces an Apricot & Orange Marmelade
Chunky Chocolate Cherry Pecan Muffin Cakes
Carrot Muffins with Raisins and Dried Pineapple
Pumpkin and Chutney Kolaches (pastry drops)
Black Currant Cream Biscuits

The author suggests almost everything can be made the day before.

I suggest that as hostess, this tea party could use facial tissues at all four corners of the room. When I thaw out after tobogganing or snowshoeing, my nose runs for at least half an hour! I would prefer Kleenex to fancy napkins on the table! (That's my 2 cents.)

To hostess a Literary Tea- Choose a date of a favourite author's birthday or some other such honorary date.
Cookies such as Madeleines, especially if they were savoury. (Zucchini and cheese)
They suggest a menu of quiche, overnight rolls filled with onions.

A spread is called Garden Sage Honey for the Black Olive and Rosemary Scones.

My library book has suggestions for tea parties:
A Mad Hatter's Children's Tea Party. They suggest riddles, musical chairs, a reading from Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland". The scene of the tea party was their choice.

Imaginative hats can be a request of the attendants. Newspapers can be used to create a hat.

English muffins can be toasted and halved. Scones can be decorated with cream cheese with other bits to make faces! (shredded carrot, raisins, sprouts, slices of pickle....)

Little muffins can delight the party goers. Tea can be hot tea, iced tea or lemonade.

Hello Everyone,

What are your weekend plans? Any plans for the new week coming?

Nothing special, crafting and lounging with the family.

I am back to walking 3 miles with Leslie Sansone, took a month to get back to that after being ill in December. Woo-Hooo!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone – see you Monday!

Worked on genealogy yesterday, while enjoying the sound of thunder rolling in. Th epuppies hated it and wouldn't leave me lap until dad got home. Only a day or two of this spring-like weather then frigid weather returns.

Today, working on the Excel spreadsheet - get it finished up so I can do more fun things. *S* For certain, I'm going to town for yarn so I can get busy on my Block of the Month project.

Finally back up to brisk walking 3 miles and 30 minutes strength training, after being ill for 4 weeks last December. A little cold really laid me up...

Hope everyone's week is going well.

Charleston Breakfast tea there were only 12 tea bags in the box so I only drank it once a week. On Friday I plan to order some more this time I'll order at least two boxes.
I got a catalog yesterday from BBC that has a blue Betty teapot I'm thinking of ordering

Hello BonBon, what kind of tea you're out of?

Snow melted, blew away yesterday. Woke up to pouring rain - love that sound. I am quite ready for Spring... *huge sigh*.

Snow didn’t stop yesterday as I believed. In fact it snowed ALL DAY… I think I jinxed it when announcing it stopped. *LOL*

After cleaning my house and shampooing the kitty mess, I didn’t get to my garden plans. However today, I will. *S* It’s a “no workout” day so I have all this precious time to spend planning my gardens. Whoooo-Hooo!

Hi everyone,

Enjoying the early morning quiet as everyone is still asleep. Even my puppies remained in bed with Dad. Definitely a cold morning but the snow has finally stopped.

Ate strawberries and Cheerios for breakfast. The berries were really tart too. Drank my three cups of coffee and looking to fix me some mint green tea.

Have to shampoo my carpet where my cat had an accident yesterday. She's old so I have to forgive her... my 20 year old granny kitty. emoticon

Afterwards, a computer day: working on hibiscus and herbal tea garden plans, locating a supplier for hazel trees, order more pecan trees, and writing up a business plan for planting sweet clover in the back 4 acres. So, like I said a computer day. emoticon

So what's the plan(s) for everyone elses weekend?

Back from Charleston and the tea plantation. We were met by a lovely English lady when my DD and I entered. There wasn't much going on since the season is over but I did learn the differance between black, olong, and green tea. It takes about a day to make black tea from harvest to bag. They had samples to taste, when I told them I came all the way from KY to buy some tea they gave me an order form. Bought some breakfast tea and a tea bag holder. While getting the house ready for Christmas I found a tea pot so now I put my hot water in the tea pot with my tea bag and pour me a cuppa in the morning.

My sister went to a tea parlour last Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
They even provided clothing you could put on and a selection of hats to wear when enjoying the tea. The whole experience sounded elegant!

I think that is great!!! I grew up in small towns and also raised children in small college town where we all patronized the local merchants. That was the American Way!!!

I am so thrilled to find we have a Tea Room in town of Wake Forest. Son said he had to go there tomorrow to do some electrical work and I never knew it was there. He said they served many exotic teas and even had gluten free baked item on menu so I can take my granddaughter there and she would love it, especially when she can eat something with her tea.

Had fun on gmail chat with GS last night. I didn't know I could buy tea in K cups for the kuerig machine he uses at work. He loves tea and I'm so glad to know this.

Hey Everyone,

As a Redhat Queen I was very interested in reading about wearing hats to tea. Our chapter allows ladies to wear flowers or anything else in their hair instead of a hat. In the south, it is really hot, and hats are hot and make your head hot, so it just makes sense to us to wear something other than a hat. Also, a headband, with a hat attached or flowers is really chic. I would have told her to come, and have a good time!!!

I hope y'all have a nice day.

Cassie

No, flowers are OK. I might (later) ask my friend if there were a story she could share about 'hats'....there is probably a long past reason she can't wear hats.

In Dear Abby in the paper this morning there was an interesting question. A lady was asked to a family tea party and was told to ware a hat. She asked if she could ware flowers in her hair since she didn't own or like to ware hats. She was told if she didn't ware a hat not to come. Question if you had a tea party and those invited were to ware hats and one of the guests asked if she could ware flowers in her hair and not a hat would you tell her not to come?
