It's liquids for me today.....I've been carb overloading (bad carb overloading) for the past four days. Protein shakes for breakfast, dinner, and snack, with Black Bean Soup for lunch. I think I'll do this tomorrow too -- sort of a mini 2 Day Pouch Test.....

Happy Friday everyone! This week has been a stressful week -- major project components organized and volunteers coordinated for a big build on Saturday.....DD#1 in car accident while away at college (totaled her car, no one seriously injured !!!Praise God!!!).....scheduling mid-Aug college campus tours throughout the state for DD#2.... and falling behind on writing my proposal for a 5K Color Run at the High School in October.....

I've stayed on track with calories/exercise, but haven't been sleeping well....I'm up every 2-3 hours and toss and turn most of the night. Sunday after church I will take a long nap!!

My daughters and I are headed to their grandparent's place in the city to spend a few days. Gma and Gpa are on weight watchers together, so I don't expect there to be a ton of "junk" food in the house, but I have prepare a couple of big ziplocks of chopped veggies and four healthy dips to take along and share.

I'm still going through the trial and error of finding a balance of cal/protein/carbs/fiber/fats to keep me in maintenance range. I'm working on increasing my cardio fitness minutes to burn 200-300 calorie a day and just starting strength training to tone problem areas (I'm not a fan of abdominals).

I pray everyone has a wonderful fun-filled and safe weekend!

Thanks Connie! First interview went well -- the people I met are wonderful and joyful, and I only "wobbled" a little in my high heels. I went back in for a 2nd interview yesterday to meet with the BIG boss -- he is a perfect gentleman and would be great to work for. I do not, however, believe I will get the job. There is an internal candidate that has worked in the department for many years and should get the deserved promotion. With that said, if she gets the promotion, her position will then be open, and I would be happy to work for and support her. I find out next week what happens next.

No protein shakes for me yet but I defiantly have to start.
I am forcing and I can't get enough. I can handle chicken for about 40g of it .
I need to have a lactose free protein shake. I bought some bRs that the my nut suggested but I can't have them yet it has nuts and other stuff that I'm not use to it they.
Thanks for the recipe I'll try to find the ingredients here. I never heard of carnation instan breakfast!!

Kaza do you use any of the protein shakes? I make a peanut butter one that I love. I use a pack of the Carnation Instant Breakfast, a scoop of whey powder, 1 cup of almond breeze and 1 Tbsp. of peanut butter. Mix it in a blender and it is delicious and full of protein. It has 39 grams of protein over half my daily intake and I drink most of my shakes in the morning for breakfast, so I've started my day off in the right direction. I had a hard time with protein when I first started out because my new tummy didn't like meat of any kind. there is a protein bar called "Pure Protein" when you eat one of these it's packed with 20 grams of protein. Usually in the evening if I see I haven't gotten enough protein in I will eat one of these.

My plan for today is to just stick to what I know I should be eating and get my exercise in!! Didn't do so well over the weekend. Some of that was intentional and some was time. I ate popcorn at the movies, had pizza, forgot to take my vitamins, got busy and lost track of time so I substituted protein bars for meals. Not the worst but so out of the ordinary for me to be so care-free about what I'm eating...not gonna beat myself up over it. It happened and now it's time to move on!!

Today I am going to concentrate on getting all my protein. Yesterday I was so busy with other things I forgot to eat lunch and I know I did not get nearly enough protein (or food). Not hard to forget when I don't ever feel hungry. Have to make sure today is better.

Today I stop the endless grazing! Yesterday I purchased a Resistance Chair with the stationary bike attachment at a yard sale (yeah! super cheap). If I feel the need to graze, I'm going to pedal until the craving goes away!!

I put myself on a liquid diet to see if I could do it, I lasted 4 days. Today I plan on eating sensibly and try to stay off these bloomin scales, that's my weakness right there. I am so afraid of gaining.

My plan for today is to stick to my food plan. Had a baked egg cup (spark recipe) for breakfast, caprese salad for lunch and 1/2 a turkey burger (no bun) for dinner. And some watermelon somewhere during the day for my snack. Mmmmmm! Should keep me around my 700 calories for the day.

Splurged yesterday by taking my DD#2 out to dinner to celebrate the academic awards she won this year...... Ate half a chili burger (no bun) and 4 onion rings.

My plan for today is to stick to my eating plan, make sure I'm getting in all my water, and walk at least one mile. After that, we're headed to our local farmer's market to get our fresh fruits & veggies for the upcoming week. Then I'm picking up my son from his confirmation retreat and we're just gonna chill for the rest of the day and do some things he wants to do. Love me some one on one time with my little manboy!!

I keep jumping on the scale every morning expecting to see weight re-gain......but no the scale is holding steady at goal weight!! Yipee!

So my plan for today is to stick to my plan. 1100-1200 calories, 50-70g protein, under 50g net carbs, and a 30 minute walk.

If it's working -- don't change it -- there's nothing to fix!!

My Plan Monday May 5 is to get to the gym, weigh in and kill it. This means a (20min) warm-up, Spin Class (40), 1 Mile Walk and Lower Body ST (4 exercises 2 sets of 10-15). This is challenging but I do it at least once a week.

Providing Im not sick this is something I know I can do and nobody else can screw up (unless they are home sick or get suspended) It's been a weekend of failure and it's over...I'll start tomorrow knowing I am strong and determined woman!

To those looking at this in amazement (good and bad) - what I'm doing has a negative side - unless I do the above "routine" I feel like I didn't quite do what I should. It takes that to feel accomplishment. After this weekend I don't care - I want to zone out and snatch up those endorphins. I can work on the negative aspect another day!

I will have to try dishwasher cleaner. I think things might be clogged up from the dissolving dishwasher packs. I've ran it twice since yesterday and it seems to be getting better. The spaghetti came off our plates. I love this dishwasher (with the right detergent) it cleans off anything - this is why it probably needs cleaned.

Did my at home ST - I even added a couple extra core exercises. I'm concerned that I had bladder leakage from one of the exercises I have never had that problem with core work before. Let's just hope my body was tired and it's part of fibromyalgia. I have enough bladder problems already. emoticon Being overweight is hard on our bodies. I'm glad I'm doing something about it.

JENS_NEW_LIFE: My dishwasher is eight years old and I would die if it went out. I clean my dishwasher once a month with a special dishwasher cleaner you can buy. People think just putting Clorox in there will keep it clean it doesn't. The cleaner is cheap I think I pay $3.50 for mine and that's a lot cheaper than having a mechanic come out and clean it for you.

2 Goals for today.
#1 - fill up my water bottle and sip throughout the day
#2 - do my at home Strength Training - I am notorious for not doing it because my DS10 has messed up our family room to the point I can't. Today I'm bringing my equipment upstairs and doing it there. The sooner the better.

Thanks Connie I will try the lemon.

So today I've had a dryer mishap (things in the dryer that shouldn't be) and a freezer mishap - lid was cracked open since Saturday. Both mishaps were my DD13.

I've got my water bottle filled and am trying to keep sipping on it. The real challenge is going to be not giving up today. Especially since I need to weigh and measure my spaghetti sauce. Figuring out how much of the recipe goes on my plate is the hard part but if I keep making it the same way I will only need to measure how much is in the pot once. I may try and mark the pot by measuring water too. However I'm giving myself Grace to just eat white spaghetti instead of cooking whole grain seperate today. I will have extra dishes from weighing stuff already.

I just remembered my dishwasher isn't working well, this morning the dishes weren't clean. I ran a second test load and it didn't do as good as it usually does. It is to be seen what will happen with supper dishes. What a day!

Connie - you will get there eventually. Exercise is key for me because it gives me the energy I need to keep up with all of my lifestyle changes. It took almost a year to work up to what I do now but it was worth it. Work as hard as you can without causing pain. For my arthritis that meant the upright exercise bike and lots of sweating and heavy breathing but it has decreased my pain overall now. Walking wasn't an option because of my arthritis.

UPDATE: DS10 had meltdown right before supper. I measured the pasta and measured the sauce and guessed how much of the sauce was meat and how much was crushed Tomatos. I also logged my before bed snack and am just under my calorie allowance. I'm about to have a nice long hot bath, read, and go to bed early.

JENS_NEW_LIFE: Try some lemon in your water, sometimes I even put a pack or two of Truvia with the lemon.
I'm cutting back on the calories and pushing up the exercise. Give or take a pound these last few pounds are the hardest for me to lose. BUT I'M SHOUTING IT OUT!! I'M GONNA GET THERE!!

My plan for today, tomorrow and onward is to start drinking water. I drink lots at the gym but not much at home. I'm pre-op and know this is something that needs to change. The main reason I don't drink water is because I don't feel like water. So it's a matter of sucking it up.

My plan for today is to eat 4oz at each meal -- and not drink for 1 hour afterwards. I want to see if I can stay full on 12oz. I am eating 2 oz protein, 1 oz beans, 1 oz cheese. The idea here is to get my protein in 6 oz, the beans for slow digesting carbs, and the cheese for flavor.

Thanks for your concern BECKYBRN I'm a little better, still hurt like I don't know what. I have a appointment with my arthritis doctor next week. At least the pain has moved from my neck and into my left shoulder. that neck pain is a killer.

I lost 4 ounces on day 2 of the 5 day pouch test. I was wanting at least a pound but I'll take what ever I can get. Wasn't able to exercise because I fell walking to the Army hospital to get my prescription filled. Banged myself up pretty good and ended up in the bed with deep heat. muscle relaxers and the heating pad.
Today is day three and I get to have fish.

My plan for today is to follow my plan! While that may sound like double-talk, I have a food plan and an exercise plan -- I just need to follow the plans! I need to not listen to my excuses -- plan the work, work the plan! I need to follow my plan when faced with emotional, rather than physical, hunger.

Today I will follow my plan!

It is my intention to live a healthy life with
Mindful eating for energy and nutrition,
Consistent exercise for stamina, strength and flexibility, and

HAPPY SPRING EVERYBODY!!
I have been down for a week fighting old Mr. Arthritis, he just won't leave me alone. The sun is shining so pretty outside so I went out to try and do a little yard work and hubby ran me back in the house. He's afraid I'll do too much but I did persuade him to help me clean my iris bed out, they have already started blooming and they are so pretty.

Hi everyone! Sorry, it has been awhile. Thanks for all the snack options. I thought about picking up string cheese, and totally forgot last week at the store. Will get some this week. Dry Roasted Soy Beans? I might try them..... lol, not sure how I feel about that. But, if I dont try, how will I know? The good thing is, the busier we get, the less I want or think about snacking. My meals are all good, and I have just been having a protein shake for lunch, Which gives me more calories for dinner. If my knee would just quit hurting a bit, I would like to get out and walk some on these nice days that I am not going to Curves.

my plan for today was to get to the pool & shop for some new clothes. Was successful on both items!!
tomorrow I have a funeral to go to-it is a huge blessing...she had been living with MS for 50 years!
