I measure monthly and weigh weekly. Last year I only lost 12 lbs but 16 inches! So it does help with motivation and really is the true measure of healthy weight loss because we can't forget about the muscle we gain!
I've had lots of people: my surgeon, dietician and personal trainer tell me that my slow weight loss is probably because I exercise, including weight training, and that this will be great in the long run. Somehow, seeing this in writing, and the explanation given makes it seem more real and less like an excuse!
