I wish I could report that I'm reading "something." Right now I'm helping my daughter with garage sales and sorting through all of her paperwork, furniture and clothing. What a job, I do not have time to read during the day, and by night I'm too tired.

I'll be back home on Oct. 8th and look forward to settle back into a normal life!

I am listening to "Stay", can't remember the author. I am reading "Made to Crave" by Lysa TerKeurst again and need to find a pleasure book. I'm thinking I will buy Linda Ronstadt's memoir, but I have other books I should read first. hehehe

Just reading over your description of your last two books, I'm wondering what Kingsolver will write about as global warming has been proven to be a political myth. Or so it would seem, anyway, from following the news. Ahh, politics -- must it stick its nose everywhere?

I am now reading "A Case of Need" by Michael Crichton. Have to expand my authors as I think I have read everything by JD Robb and Nora Roberts.

I CAPTURE THE CASTLE by Dodie Smith (author of The 101 Dalmatians)... published in 1949, I think, about an eccentric English family--very quirky and fun.

Also read FLIGHT BEHAVIOR by Barbara Kingsolver - a novel about what happens when Monarch butterflies suddenly change their migratory pattern and, instead of going to Mexico, flock by the millions to a sheep farm in the Appalachians. Beautifully written and wonderful characters, as with all of Kingsolver's novels; very readable though it deals with heavy topics (environmental change due to global warming.)

That sounds like a book that I would enjoy!

Just finished off a couple of books quite rapidly, and now I'm on one called "Mysterious" -- and looking back a few people, I see I started it once before, but it fell behind the bed and I just found it again yesterday afternoon. emoticon

Veil of Roses by Laura Fitzgerald. It's a novel about a young Iranian woman who comes to the US with the goal of finding a husband so she can stay. Only problem is, she has to do it in 3 months, before her visa expires. A moving story, told with lightness and humor. I recommend it!

I've been doing some studying -- non-fiction stuff, the going is slow and I don't count the pages on this team.

But I did just come across a Nora Roberts book that I had not read yet, so I'm starting it now. It's called "Mysterious" and think it contains 3 fairly short stories.

Wow, no one is reading or else they aren't posting about it! :) I am stopping at the Library today to pick up "Gone Girl". I can't remember the author, but it is supposed to be one of the best books of the year. I haven't been reading a ton, but usually a little every day. I need a better book so that I read more.

I just finished The Apprentice by Tess Geritsson (or something like that). Must remember to review on Goodreads. I'm also reading The Picture of Dorian Gray, which had such a S L O W start but many quotable lines. Just started Secrets of a Wedding Night (actually for a Spark team book club - let me know if you want details).

I've read everything available by Nora Roberts and J.D. Robb in my little Library (it's in a community called Westbrook -- you don't check the books out, you just take them and bring them back -- so they are all donated.) Guess I'll have to branch out into new authors now, and have already started in fact. Laura Caldwell caught my eye and I rather enjoy her books, even though they have unexpected endings. I actually prefer the "happy" endings.

A little over halfway through another Nora Roberts book entitled "Law of Love" which contains two fairly short stories (compared to some books).

I figure I'll get a lot of reading done over the summer because that's what I do in the afternoon when it is HOT outside.

I am reading "Wheat Belly". I downloaded it onto my ereader and then my ereader just up and died. I've been diagnosed with Gluten Intolerance after 11 months of illness w/o a cause. Off topic, sorry, anyway Wheat Belly is something, EVERYONE who is trying to be healthy and/or lose weight, should read.

I had no idea the wheat we now eat is nothing like the wheat our ancestors ate. I also didn't know it was one of the highest glycemic foods there is. Please let me know if you've read this book or if you read it, I am very interested to know if others are as shocked as I am. Apparently, going gluten free is a good idea for everyone, who knew.

I'm reading "Last Night at Chateau Marmont" by Lauren Weisberger. She wrote "The Devil Wears Prada". I'm reading a Janet Evanovich "Stephanie Plum" book, then a different book to change genres. I can't read the same genre or the same author all the time.

I listened to "Every Last One" by Anna Quinland (is that the right name?). It was very good, but intense sometimes. I almost cried coming to work one day... I don't bring extra mascara with me!

I read Escape last year. It's a shocking story!!

Do not be afraid of going slowly; be afraid only of standing still.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and, he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
