Yes, I have heard of this husk. I wondered too if this would help with my high cholesterol (part of hereditary heart,asthma, b /p thing) and I get shocking constipation - side effect from drugs plus nothing like the exercise I did pre-arthritus and heart thingys. Slowly does it nowadays!!!!!! Yes, I do it now and most steadily so that EVERY day now I am not just more supple but hopefully going to build up some sort of stamina too? Weight loss would be heaven! I try to get natural products as i have to take drugs, doc agreed to t rial off statins as I found I was damn near crippled and in such pain, so boy, I am exercising carefully. This constipation is STILL problem, I eat weetabix, yoghurt and fruit, soup with 7-8 vedg and lentils, phew, maybe physlliym husks now? How do you take them? They do not clash with drugs presumably because of being a natural food?
I can not say yes to the amount or even if it does. I can tell you that there has been conclusive evidence that fiber is a necessary part of everyone's diet and is not always met with the diet choices of the majority. Still many of us realize the need for it, it cleanses the bowels and rids the body of toxins.. The amount would depend on you current food consumption, such as do you drink an adequate quantity of water, eat enough fruits and veggies for your particular needs, etc.
