I have recently been told by a few doctors that my blood pressure is becoming a big issue. I am not yet on medication and would like to not be!
I am attempting to manage my diet/sodium, lose weight, exercise, and be healthy. There are a couple of extraneous factors with my blood pressure so I don't know that I will be able to defeat the medication issue, but I will do my best!! I will go back to the doctor after the new year to see how I have done and make a more permanent plan.
I know that I can get healthy, but I need HELP! Hence why I am here. I am excited to get to know people "in my boat" and mostly I am excited to succeed!!

Hello my name is Yolanda and I am new to this site. I have been diagnosed with high cholesterol and high blood pressure a few years ago. I am 47 years old. I am truing to take control of my life now, because I have a lot to live for. I started going to the gym in June 2012. I feel good, I am having a time with trying to find all the right foods that are good for me. If you or anyone else have any advice, can you please share, thank you.
