Hi Didi, Chris, Amanda, and Kitty, wherever you are!

Okay--I did it!

First of all, I did great onmy water all weekend in preparation for Sunday. I knew I needed to stay hydrated, and re-hydrate afterwards.

The triathlon was indoors, and they tracked how far we each went in a specific amount of time.

So first, we had ten minutes to swim. I wanted to get at least a quarter of a mile in which I believe is 18 lengths (some people say 16). I did 19.

Then, 20 minutes on the spinning bike. I wanted an average speed on over 15 miles per hour. I calculated my average speed at 19 mph. Since this my favorite leg, I was happy.

Finally the run. I hate to run. We had 20 minutes on the treadmill. I wanted to get at least 1.5 miles (about 13.5 minute mile) and I got in 1.63. I hadn't done anything faster than 14 minute miles in recent workouts, so I was happy there, too. I should have gotten to 12 minute miles, but I hadn't trained for this, and my knees were hurting!

So I was happy. It was a small crowd, and I still didn't place in the top three women, but I met my goals, and it was a good workout.

Hurrah for us, sounds like a good weekend.

I got in a good strength training workout on Sunday. Did some jogging both Saturday and Sunday. I'm just now dipping my toes into that world.

The rest of the weekend was pretty much fun family things (family game night, parties, etc.) or work (getting ready for testing a software application today, lots of last minute fixes).

I have plans for every evening this week, ugh! But at least I have the energy to keep up!

Hi Amanda you sound rather oleased with your weekend!!! I'm impressed with all the activity you got in this week end. I'd say you were definately a Weekend Warrior!!!!

Well this weekend I stuck to my plan for the most part. I DID allow myself a few (6) Halloween candy bars.....I know, I know, BUT they were just sitting there in the pantry looking at me,just begging for attention!!!!
I did however get ALL my workouts in and yes my food was clean...no junk for the rest of the weekend":) So I didn't completely wreck it.
6 more sleeps to race day!!!!

DRC how goes it???
Kitty were are you, still moving?????

What an awesome weekend! I did the following new things: attended an Al-anon meeting, carved a pumpkin, tried a new cardio machine and tried a new strength training machine.

I also finished the stroller, Lucas' doggy costume and made Emily a purse for her ballet shoes and change of clothes.

I only went to the gym on Saturday morning but didn't feel bad about it at all because I really feel like I'm on the right path to a new and improved me. We did not have a picnic but we did take the kids for a long walk in the newly renovated stroller. Emily loves to look at the boats in the marina.

Anyway, I am wondering how that indoor triathalon went. I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

How exciting! I bet you will have a ton of fun. I've never heard of an indoor triathlon before. But I've probably missed out on a lot of cool things like that while sitting at home watching T.V. emoticon

I will definintely let you all know how it goes. It's only Friday and I am already off track but I am 100% positive that I will have something to report on Monday.

Amanda, Looks like you have a busy weekend planned. Let us know what one new thing you did!

I did it. I signed up for the race. It isn't going to be monstrous. It is a timed indoor triathlon. So instead of having to do specific distances, we'll do each event for a specified amount of time, and the results will be based on how far we go in that time period. I'll let you know...

I've never posted here before but I'll give it a shot.

Here are my plans:

Fri. - Go to the gym at 6am. Take the kids to the park. Finish sewing up the double jogging stroller seat in the evening.

Sat. - Start and finish Lukey's Halloween Costume. Take a walk (with the newly renovated stroller) to the lakefront and have a healthy picnic.

Sun. - Go to the gym in the am. Have Daddy take the kids out of the house so I can really get the house clean.

My MAIN goals are to get the jogging stroller seat repaired AND to step out of my comfort zone and try 1 new thing this weekend.

I'll let you know how it goes.

I have had several Day 1s in my life but I know in my heart that one day I will start my last Day 1.

I'm always awed by some of the activities of the members of this thread. But I'm doing more!

Friday: Drop kids off at my mom's. Back to the house for my only real ALONE time. I want to declutter some of my bookshelves. Bake something for the big neighborhood get-together the next day.

Saturday: Pick up kids from Mom's. Drop them off mid-day at a birthday party. Hubby and I will go to the neighborhood bash in the interim. I know that I'll be getting lots of comments as I have recently started jogging, which I'm sure is a topic of conversation in our tiny little retirement community! (As is my 125 pound weight loss, as always.)

Kids and I cook together on Saturday, then have family game night. I think tonight it's going to be several rounds of Old Maid (it's just the boys, 4 and 6 and myself, hubby's at work).

Sunday: 9 am I'll go weight lift for over an hour at my fitness partner's house. Later that day I'll go on a long hike, just me and my audiobook. I may have a bit of work to do, but nothing else big planned - woo hoo!

If hunger isn't the problem, food isn't the answer.

OK--still trying to figure out if I am insane... There is a small indoor triathlon this weekend, on Sunday, and I seriously think I am doing it. It's Sunday morning, and instead of specific distances, you do each discipline for a specified length of time. COmpletely do-able and all indoors. Which means the rest of the weekend will essentially gear towards a killer workout on Sunday...

What do you think?

Good Morning!!!!
Well it's Thursday, and I still have no really big plans on the horizon.....that's a good thing:)Considering Christmas is a short 2 months away and that's the roughest time of year for me with over eating. Just too many parties I guess...hehehehe

Friday-lets see ..... all I've got on my to do list is to pick up the dry cleaning and strength train

Saturday ..... run and eat out with my family. Hope to make healthy chioces on the menu.

Sunday ..... last long run before I have to taper. Big race following weekend...I'm getting excited!!!!!

So you see, boring is good!!!!

Chat later,
Didi
