GRAY, thanks. This particular ride was mostly slow and easy though. I was riding a horse who'd been out on the trail ride with my sister the day before (2 hours of serious riding) followed by 3 hours of searching. And my sister, who'd been knocked around pretty good. And her horse, who'd been lost for a couple of hours. It was slow easy recovery ride for all of them. And for me, just an excuse to be outside. And help keep them all calm!

But you are right--my muscles are reminding me that it wasn't completely passive.

Horse riding is more of a work out than it gets credit fo though. You'r not exactly riding along passively up there.

New week, new effort! :)

Well, since I last posted, things went downhill. I got my walk and swim in, and then was running some errands when my sister called and said she was thrown from her horse and he was missing. So I hightailed it up to the barn and joined the search. Long story short, the horse was found, and uninjured. My sister cut her lip pretty badly, but otherwise is doing fine.

So instead of a nice relaxing weekend, I ended up eating a bad-for-me comfort-food dinner at 8:30 at night. Sunday, I went for a ride with my sister, so didn't get my planned workout done, and then met a friend for mexican food. I didn't even bother to track my calories...

But everyone (two and four legged) is doing well and I got to do my swim workout yesterday after work.

Thanks for the congrats! It's very exciting. Now, back to the nitty gritty ... today is my weigh and measure day and I lost .4 lbs and 2.5 inches ~ woo hoo!

My weekend was about as hectic as one could be. Friday we went to town to meet with the CPA - tax time! Saturday I played golf and went to a birthday party that night ~ can you say tequila shots? LOL. Sunday I drove over the pass (Cascades) for a job interview on Monday morning. Monday was crazy busy with it all ~ but I got the job! Then I had to set up a new checking account and drive back over the pass to work for a couple of hours that night. I wasn't very good at keeping track of calories, but I actually did okay for all that went on and managed to get in some nice walks. Tomorrow is my weight and measurements ... not sure if I'm looking forward to that or not. LOL!

I met my weekend goals! Tomorrow, the goal is to go back to the gym and do one of the circuit-rotations we learned.

I have a stability ball as well, but I don't use it nearly as often as I should. I don't know a lot of good exercises for it. If you have links for good stability ball workouts, would you mind sharing them? That will give me something to work in the evenings.

I accomplished my goals of the weekend and got my workouts in. I went to the gym Saturday night for a quick bike ride and then lifted some weights. Yesterday it was finally nice enough and not slippery anymore so I could run outside boy is that different than the treadmill. Now they are saying snow again!! Ugh! Yesterday however we went out for breakfast and had a potluck last night and I overate at both emoticon
Graywarden--my trainer put me through a ab workout the week before and I hurt too. One good thing about those workouts is you can do them at home easily. I got a stability ball and I love it!
Have a great week everyone!

I made it! Just got back from the Laundry Day workout at the gym. There were twelve of us in total, and the trainer split us into three groups of four, set us up on three different stations and had us rotate between the various ab workouts on our station. When done, move to the next station, rotate between all those.

After half an hour of rotating between stations, it was off to the floor mats for various crunches, planks, and leg lifts.

I HURT!!! emoticon

But it's a good kind of hurt, and I have now learned lots of good ab exercises I can do on my own nest time I go. And if I keep doing this, I will eventually be:

I was right...both of my activities lead to bad eating. I'm such it didn't help that my friend surprised me first thing in the morning with a huge cake sized cupcake from Crumbs in my favorite flavor. (Thank God I had the guys here during the pay per view and they ate most of it!)

I pulled my shoulder the other day (actually, it was in the middle of the night) and it's been killing me ever since. This morning I woke up with a stuffy nose. What is going on? Like DRC said...spring has finally arrived...I do NOT want to get sick!

Anyway...I'm making my grocery list now and I'm going to head over to Whole Foods. If my arm is not hurting a lot I will take a walk in the park by my house. Either way, my evening will be filled with schoolwork and Real Housewives of Orange County. (Yes, I do realize it's garbage.)

Hi all!

Last night, I had dinner with some friends at Outback. I put all the food on my Spark tracker before I ordered, so I knew I'd stay in range.

Today, I did laundry and emptied the dishwater before going for a walk. And a light lunch, so now I am off to the gym to go swimming. I don't know what tonight's plans are, or what I will do tomorrow. Probably another swim, and something else outdoors--walk or a bike ride.

I am loving the fact that the weather is so spring-y. I love spring...

I love Saturday mornings too... I slept in, and now I'm lazy in front of the computer, eating my carefully planned out breakfast and drinking coffee. I've logged all of it, and now I'm trying to figure out which one of my video games I want to play today.

Today is the day off from working out. Our trainer said we should try to get out for a walk anyway, so today's challenge is to find time for that. And to resist the habit I've developed of snacking when I get bored...

I love Saturday mornings!! My challenge for the weekend will be finding time to work out. My trainer is gone this weekend which means I will be missing a good workout. I haven't been the best at working out this week. My goal a long run tomorrow and hitting the gym this afternoon after my shopping trip. Last night was a few beers with co-workers. It was great getting out and I only had 4-ouch!

Hello!

Tomorrow I'm going to see Addams Family on Broadway and then there is a UFC fight night at my house. Both of these can easily lead to bad eating. I'm going to walk to the theater and back to the train so I'll use that as my exercise. Sunday I'm planning on grocery shopping and working on school stuff.

For the weekend, my husband and I signed up for a "free for all members" special class at the gym. It's on Sunday, at 2:00PM, and it's a full hour of supposedly brutal ab-focused routines.

So my personal challenge for Sunday is: Survive the Laundry Day!

What is everyone else doing? emoticon
