I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm finally feeling better after the bronchitis bug I caught and got in 3 rounds of golf, plus we did some minor home repair that was needing to get done ... so I feel good about that. I splurged a little on the vino and we had crab with butter one night. But other than that, I actually did okay with my food intake for the weekend. With the calories I burned golfing, I probably broke even. I really need to kick it into gear this week since I only have 63 days until my cruise and would like to lose about 5 more pounds by then.

Well, I am finally getting to check in with everyone. Yep, a crazy Monday as well. I am so glad to see so many people here!

Well, I finished the weekend without getting to vacuum, change the sheets, or get the tax stuff together. But I think I got rid the stomach bug, and I got a lot of stuff put away and cleaned the kitchen and bath. the sheets are clean, but not on the bed yet.

I spent Sunday morning at the most awesome bike swap event. I bought new cycling shoes, a pair of shorts, a shirt, gloves, pink handle bar tape, and a pink water bottle cage. And got great deals! Then I went to see an acoustic duo that I love and managed the food and alcohol well. In almost 5 hours, I had 2 glasses of sangria and my sister and I split a thin crust pizza loaded with healthy veggies. So even though I missed my workout for the day, I was happy with everything.

JP, thanks for the support. the psycho ex is driving me crazy, but at least he's not here. I am ready to find someone worthy of me! So what's the tattoo look like? Can you post a photo?

Thanks to everyone for being here through the weekend with me!

Weekends can definitely be crazy. So can Mondays. LOL

DRC--I'm sorry to hear you have a psycho ex on your hands.

I never wound up visiting that particular friend, but I think it was a blessing is disguise as I spent most of the day with another friend who really seemed to just need company. She did come with me to get my tattoo--my shoulder is still hurting today.

When I sat down to do some schoolwork on Sunday I didn't realize how far behind I was so I spend the rest of the evening catching up.

Laundry was done today as well as a test for school, which I was absolutely embarrassed to be handing in, it was that bad!

Tomorrow will have to be food shopping and catching up on other things.

I'm so glad to see more people have joined our group. I hope everyone continues to participate on the threads!

Have a great week!

Weekends are so hard! There is always something going on. This weekend I had 2 birthday parties. We also had friends over Saturday night. I am happy to say that I behaved. I planned for and enjoyed 1 piece of cake at my brother's birthday party. I also planned to have 1 glass of wine at our get together Sat. night. I will usually drink light beer or vodka w/ diet tonic, but our friends prefer wine, so that is what we had. I tracked everything fri, sat and sun and stayed within my range. Having just joined this team on Wednesday really motivated me. I hope that I will continue to do well!

I am so excited that this idea has taken hold. Thanks for putting a forum together for us to report in! My report isn't that good. I've been battling the "bug" for some time and this weekend, as my doctor told me, it's evil cousins decided to join in the fun. I ran a fever over 102 Friday & Saturday, have a terrible cough (which I got an inhaler for), and feel like I've been hit by a Mac truck. Needless to say, I didn't stick to any kind of diet. I didn't eat much during the fever part, but I don't pay any attention to what I eat when I'm sick ... just need comfort food - LOL. I was looking forward to getting some serious cardio in too with a couple rounds of golf and a Fireman's Ball dance. Oh well .... next weekend should be better!
Glad to hear that everyone else is doing so well ... keep up the good work!!

It's my first weekend with the warriors too! What a thought was going to be a somewhat tough weekend turned out ok. One of my daughters got sick so that eliminated the hockey tourney and going out to eat on Saturday. I couldn't get in any excerise but did do lots of much needed cleaning and laundry. sunday got in a great work out with my trainer on the spin bike and then a couple mile run. I've been having some neck pain so we laid off the weights yesterday but the spinning was awesome! I stayed within my calorie range except yesterday I made cupcakes with the kids and had to have one so I went over. Everyone have a great week and keep shedding those pounds!

Hi Everyone, this was my first weekend with the weekend warriors challenge, and I think all in all I've done pretty good. I exercised for an hour on both Sat and Sun (i usually slack with the exercise on the weekend) and I stayed within my calorie limits on both days also, but Friday night I went over with a couple of glasses of wine. Today being Valentines won't pose a problem for me, my Valentine is in CA on business travel. My problem is going to be next weekend going to South Beach in Miami for a long weekend and thus the drinking and eating begins, I hope the hotel has a gym...... Have a great week!!

LOL, JP. I was excited--so many new people!

Here's my list update. It's not much...
* change the beds
* put away all the various stuff that got piled in the hallway all week - DONE
* clean the kitchen - DONE
* vacuum
* clean bathroom
* get tax stuff together
* get rid of this intestinal bug I seemed to have picked up this week... - well, if I don't eat, it's not a problem...

I'm having a rough day today. Just a little depressed about my lack of love life and a psycho ex who won't leave me alone.

Wow, I came by to start a thread and DRC is all over it. emoticon

I've been back from California for a week and I STILL haven't finished unpacking or getting back on track since then. (I was late to work every day this week.)

Tomorrow I am going to visit a friend, get a new tattoo and then come home and clean.

Sunday I will be food shopping, studying/catching up on school work and doing laundry.

Sounds like a lot of busy weekends. DXTREME, a funeral and all that goes along with it is always a challenge. Do what you need to do, and stay active--that'll help. And if you are volunteering to do things for other people, you won't be able to eat/drink as much.

I just need to make sure I get off my lazy butt this weekend!

Other projects for me:
* change the beds
* put away all the various stuff that got piled in the hallway all week
* clean the kitchen
* vacuum
* clean bathroom
* get tax stuff together
* get rid of this intestinal bug I seemed to have picked up this week...

Friday is the viewing for a friend of mines, then her girls have planned this huge cookout afterwords. There will be a lot of food and alcohol. BLAH! Will probably go to the bar after that. Its going to be a rough one. I really don't plan to do any type of moderation except the food. Don't know who the cook is, so don't believe I'll do too much indulging.

Saturday is the funeral. It starts at 11 and will hopefully be finished by1. I don't have any plans after except to come home. I don't know if I'm going to the house with the girls when they return from the cemetery. It is truly up in the air.

Sunday, my only plan workout, get my 10k walk on, and study.

Peggy

Hmmmm, this will take a whole lot of willpower emoticon with all that you have going on. Maybe you should look at my SP background pic before your weekend starts so you will know what you will look like if you don't get a handle on your eating. Everytime you take a bite think of Ms Valentine. emoticon

Hey all...I was hoping for a good easy weekend and not sure it will happen at least there will be no cocktails this weekend which is first in a long time! Alcohol seems to stick with me for days and days. Today lunch for a friends birthday at my fav Italian place and supper tonight at my mom's none of those are good but I will just try to eat less and choose wisely. I am hoping to get in a good long run tomorrow morning before the hockey tourney because those usually involve pizza or fast food. Then Saturday after hockey we are going out to supper with my aunt and uncle maybe I will suggest applebee's and get one of the weight watchers meals. Sunday is personal trainer day and those work outs kick my you know what. All in all not too terrible if I can keep my eating under control but my eating involves lots of resturant eating and I hate that. Hope everyone has a good weekend and we will touch base on Sunday. Oh and forgot I told the kids we would make heart shaped cupcakes. Guess I will have to have some will power.

Saturday night we are having friends over for dinner. I love to cook so this is always my chance to go all out. My husband is going out of town on a work assignment Sunday so he won't be here for Valentine's Day. I did get invited out with friends though so that is cool. I will look at the menu ahead and will most definitely drink light beer which is about 96 calories for Amstel Light, which is my favorite. Wednesday I am flying to California to visit my Son, so not sure how that is going to go. When I visit him we eat out all the time b/c we are always going places. Hopefully I will use good judgement in the restaurants.

"Happy Valentine's Day" Everyone emoticon emoticon emoticon

DRC, my suggestions for drinking the alcohol would be to drink the light beers, or maybe something like a rum and diet coke, or maybe you could have a glass of ice cold water in between drinks with a lemon wedge. Hope this helps. Or maybe you cold try and talk more and drink less.

The up side of the days plan is that I'll be driving--an automatic control of alcohol consumption in my world!

However, an old friend of mine just called to see if I want to go out Saturday night. Could be trouble... It was always trouble when we went out 20-some years ago. *wink*

I have the same problem with beer....My usual drink of choice so I can hang longer, ya know. My husband and I can go through a 30pk on a Saturday night w/ friends no problem...sometimes get more..oops :/ :)
But the vodka w/ a soda would be good if they have it. I've started liking bloody mary's. Get the tomato juice...ok, that's just an excuse..hahah
As far as babysitting....it depends, the weather is really cold and there is still lots of snow on the ground. We could think of something I'm sure.

I frequently will have light beer (Usually Bud Light or Corona Light). But when I drink beer, I drink more of them. So vodka is the next drink of choice. Maybe a flavored vodka with diet 7Up? Assuming they have diet 7Up... (new bar for me--I don't know what they have).

Sounds like me when I dog sit--my sister doesn't usually have any food in the house, so I pack my own. And Saturday night, can you do something active with the kid/kids? Burn off some bonus calories...

DRC, sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead of you. Sorry to hear about your dad, though. I really wish I could offer suggestions for your Sunday afternoon, but alas, that is why I am here as well :) What is your drink of choice?? Maybe you could try something lighter, depending on your likes.

Friday night, my husband and I are going out to dinner to avoid the Valentine's Day rush. I've already scoped out the menu and the nutritional info the website had, so I will be choosing wisely and will know what I'm getting before we get there. The good thing is, we've never been there so I won't feel like I'm missing out on my favorite entree by getting something else. I'm sure I'll be having some drinks, but I think I'll stick w/ wine, which is better than my usual Bud Select.
Saturday night, I'm babysitting in a house with hardly any food (or anything I like for that matter) b/c they eat out so much. Shouldn't have any problems there. I'll be bringing my own food for sure :)
That is all that my weekend consists of at this point. Hopefully not too bad.....plus some good workout sessions as well..can't forget those emoticon

I noticed several new members this week, so I thought I'd go ahead and start a weekend thread.

What are your plans for the weekend? What do you think will cause you the most problems? Anything the rest of us can offer advice for? And how is the whole "Valentine's Day" thing going to affect you?

I don't know what I am doing on Saturday yet, but Friday night I'm going to dinner at my parent's house. Dad is recovering from heart surgery, so everything there is healthy, which makes my life easy. And Sunday, there is a big swap sale going on near me with tons of cycling stuff at great prices. So everything should be great until then. But then a favorite band of mine is playing Sunday afternoon, and I very rarely watch them without alcohol.

So any suggestions to handle the alcohol?
