I am just checking in today because I had a horrible stomach flu this week...is it wrong that my only bright spot was that I had no desire to eat...I think I did okay...I guess I need to work on logging throughout the weekend...that is one thing I have not been doing and I think it will be good for me to do...especially if I am wrong.

I did get the family out for a walk over a bridge in my hometown...I have issues with driving over bridges, so it was more therapeautic for me mentally than for exercise..but I did race my oldest a few times, so that got my heart rate up. He's a great motivator...he just told me that he secretly does pushups and crunches in his room before bed everynight!!! He is 8!! gotta love it.

Hi all! I'm happy to report I was warrior this weekend. I was able to get 1150 calories burned and was in range both days (and Friday!) althought I have to admit it was a challenge every day. I had a few treats here and there, but I made it. I'm 8 days into my 20 day challenge to stay in range! Hopefully I can keep it up for the next upcoming weekend.

Buckeyekells - wow, congrats on the good streak of exercising! Sometimes living in the real world means letting go and just indulging and if on the average you are more in range than out of range and exdercising, you'll be fine. Just keep getting back to it and don't give up!

KSUBIZZO - I hear great thigs about Lifetime, so that is wonderful! I do spin 1-2 Xs per week at my gym and it is a great workout... good for you!!!
Hope everyone's weekend was successful!

Hey everyone! I almost didn't even want to check-in b/c I was so disappointed in myself. Friday and Saturday I ate waaaayyyyy too much. I can say Sunday I did eat great and got a great workout in.

One positive is a new gym was built close to our house and opened this weekend! I went Sunday and I love it. It's got sooo much and it's huge. It's Lifetime Fitness, I know there's locations all over. This morning I went to a spin class and it was great! I'm hoping to get in a routine during the week of going to morning classes. Then on the weekends hope to do some of their water aerobics classes. I'm really excited b/c this gym just seems awesome!

KIMINWISCONSIN - Hi there! To answer your question - Sort of. There are weight machines and free weights at my gym. I use the OSU campus facilities bc I get a great rate with what is included being an alumni versus paying for a local gym around here.

I don't go crazy lifting - usually stick to under 30 minutes and just do an all over (arms, legs, core) light lift with 3 reps of 15. I also only lift maximum of twice a week bc I just don't have time with all of the other exercise I get. I have to have a little bit of a life outside of trying to be healthy ;)

Hi Buckeye. I know you will get back on today. That is the most important part. Running 3 miles each on Fri., Sat., and Sunday is quite an accomplishment. emoticon Way to go!! I noticed you said you were going to go lift today before swimming. Do you do free weights?

As usual, my weekend was not within calorie range. I did get all of my exercise in though. This included running 3 miles for 3 days straight. Yesterday was a rest day and went out to dinner for roomie's bday. I ate ALMOST DOUBLE my high range #. Boo. Getting back on track today for sure! I think I'm going to go lift before swimming tonight.

Mind over fatter.

Hi all -
Hope the weekend is going well. Sunday afternoon here and I'm happy to say that Friday was good and I was even able to eat a small bag of peanut m&ms at the football game.
Saturday had the potential for disaster. Unplanned activities had us out of the house from 9am - 6pm and so I didn't have my usual planned good snacks... however, I did so much better than usual eating out along the way! I was in calorie range (just barely, but that is OK!) and we had a great day going to pee wee football in the morning and a small college game in the afternoon. And can I just say HOOK 'EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunday is shaping up to be good... ran about 5 miles and am on track w/ my meals. I may just make it through this weekend!

TurboJam is a set of exercise dvds. You can check them out at turbojam.com. In fact, they even have a preview of the video on that site. I bought them off of beachbody.com and if I would have known about them ahead of time, I would NOT have paid the $60 plus $13 for s&H from that site. I thought I was getting all of this extra fun stuff, but it only turned out to be a measuring tape that I will use. So far I've used the cardio party, sculpt, and 20 minute workout. I know those are MUCH cheaper on ebay or other places.

Have a great weekend!!

I agree - great motivation going into the weekend!! Way to go Buckeyekells!

I was in calories yesterday, but was so hungry last night after dinner and all my calories were "spent"... but I resisted snacking thinking of how great breakfast would be this morning!
I ran 4 miles this morning and am ready for today to be a good calorie day, too. I'm working on day 6 of being in calorie range with a goal of 20 this time! So this weekend I AM PROMISING MYSELF (in writing no less) that I WILL BE IN RANGE.

It sounds like the weekend will be a typical challenge for most of us. I find the tips given by everybody in here soooo helpful. Thank you gals for being there.

WalkerMi-I see you have your weekend workouts planned ahead of time-that is so smart. I was wondering if you have a backup plan in case it is bad weather for the days you plan on running.

On a side note, on Monday the 2nd, I weighed in at 277. I did TurboJam on Tuesday, Wed., Thurs, and again this morning. Today I weighed in at 273. I've been doing exercise dvds and walking since May, but there is something in TurboJam that is really working for me. I would recommend it for everybody.

Friday is upon us ladies and gents!

I sparked! Last night we went out to dinner, and I cut my meal in half. I decided before my first bite that I would not be 'stuffing myself to the gills'. Now I get to have a delicious meal again today AND I will have been within calorie range both days to take care of it. It's working...

I ran 3m last night and I have a 3.5m scheduled for tonight.

Mind over fatter.

Im not looking forward to this weekend because of the wedding - I have never met a cake that I didnt like either, but I plan on a lot of yard work -raking the leaves etc. so Im going to get a lot of excercise in and plan on dancing a lot at the wedding so hopefully this will all help.

Hi Warriors! Everyone is getting mentally prepared for this weekend and that is a lot of what works - being prepared and having a plan. I find that if I have a plan, then I know when I'm making a concious decision not to follow it and I just say "oops, it got away from me"...

No big events this weekend that hold temptation. Football Friday night as usual, but I think I've got that one under control as I've held steady the last 3 weeks. Save room for a burger is what I do and then I pretend I might get some sweets and then I never do...sounds strange. Friday I've got a run planned. Saturday is a lighter day of yoga/pilates. Sunday is a longer run. I'm hereby promising myself that I WILL stay in calories this weekend and get back on track for my 20 day goal of staying in range. I'm on day 5 as of today! My splurge will be going to eat Mexican food on Saturday evening, but it will still be staying in range.

Kim - If you can be the DD on your night out, that is what I've seen works well for avoiding the calories that come with drinking (not so much the drinks but the munchie foods that you let slip in!). But if you have a beer or two (or 3) you can do it!!

I see a few of you with weddings and those are tough, so hang in there! I know I tend to pig out b/c I've never been to a wedding with healthy choices and I've never seen a cake I didn't love... BUT that word called moderation is what really counts!

Buckeyekells - per your other post on the swimming and running... girl, you ARE readay for a triathlon. Check into the Danskin triathlon - they have them in tons of places all over the US and are for women only and are a good "mini" distrance tri. Lots of fun... I did one ages ago and it was a great motivator. The swim is only 800 meters so you would already have that in your sleep!

Go Warriors!!!!!!!!!

Hello! We have a wedding this Saturday. It could be a big struggle b/c most of our college friends are going to be there and we all love to have some fun! Quite a few we haven't seen in a few years. The wedding is in the evening and BBQ is the food and beer is the drink. Just gonna try and not do too much food, workout that morning and eat really light all day leading up. Then I'll try and make some wise decisions. Luckily I don't drink too often so I'm kind of a lightweight so it doesn't take too much before I'm feeling happy. ;-)

I've been doing pretty well and hope to keep it going thru the weekend.

Good afternoon everybody. I'm a little scared about Saturday night, as it is my nephew's birthday (24 years old) and wants the family to get together and go to the bars. When I have a few beers is when I totally let my guard down. If I had the willpower I am feeling right now I know it would be no problem, BUT we all know how that goes. I will try to stick to the rule of one beer, one glass of water or I will really think about it and make myself the des. driver so everybody else can have a few and I won't drink at all. That would probably be the best idea.

Thanks for doing that...I have to keep reminding myself that it's Wednesday already...this week is flying for me.

No plans for this weekend...which is dangerous...at least I am going to plan our meals so that doesn't get away from me.

Then I know I need to get in the shed and get all the halloween stuff out.

I also need to make up some little invitations for our annual party.

exercise wise....I have no clue. ruh roh!

I went ahead and started today's since it's Wednesday and we usually have one posted around then.

My weekend is shaping up to look like a haunted house on Friday the football game on Saturday and a birthday dinner on Sunday.
