To lose 50 pounds, develop a regular exercise routine/habit, get my blood pressure back in the normal range, reduce my risk of diabetes, lower my cholesterol level, gain more energy, to quit smoking (and get my husband to quit too), to just feel better in general--both physically and mentally/emotionally. emoticon emoticon

To finish what I started at the beginning of 2013. I went from 228 to 182, but then stalled mid-year last year. And I let 10 pounds creep back. I went from a size 22 to 16. I am still in 16's but they are snug. I am NOT going up a size...so I am back to it.
End of year goal: 155. Have no idea what size I will be. I just want to be in a healthy weight range.

I am on a winning team-everything I need to reach my goals are provided here by so many people. So I have to say my health and fitness goals start with losing weight. Losing weight will positively affect so many parts of my body.. I have to get healthier by committing to my exercising and eating the right foods.

I'm making a commitment to get back my "must do" attitude about getting my fitness done everyday that I had before I tore my Achilles tendon and had to "sit out" so many months. After a year of healing it still doesn't feel good to walk more than 1.5 miles, but my mind-set is so lackadaisical about it now, that recently I haven't been doing even that, although I do other activities. I want to get back my enjoyment of exercise that propelled me to do it. And I'll start with a commitment of 10 minutes per day of walking. I feel a streak comin' on!

My goal for this year is to become at least as strong and mobile as I was before my double hip replacement at the end of last year. I've done it! With a Personal Trainer and being consistent with both cardio and strength training, I know I'm even stronger and I'm amazed that I've been walking 2-4 miles a day. That from someone who had to use a walker for four months! SparkPeople has been such a great help, as it gave me a place to put it all down.

1) go sugar-free --- emoticon to date --- from 1.3.14

2) get to goal on the emoticon --- getting very close emoticon

3) portion control --- getting better & better emoticon

4) up exercise --- need improvement emoticon
