I call someone and talk with them when I'm stressed. The added benefit is that I often find myself pacing while I'm on the phone, so I get my exercise in too!


I started SP at 138 lbs in October 2010. My goal weight was supposed to be 125, which I reached on January 17, 2011. I have stayed at 125 (give or take a few pounds) ever since.

Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions. I think it even helped just admitting I was doing the eating thing.

I have recently came to the realization that I am a comfort eater....I have found taking a walk really helps me; I just walk slow and breathe deep; in those instances it isn't about the exercise as much as it is getting away from the food and working through whatever had me reaching for it. Good luck. Prayers for you and your Dad... emoticon

Be good to yourself and be there for your father when you can. Take a walk, workout, meditate, journal...journal...journal all your hopes and fears. Mindless eating will not help you or Dad. Be True To Yourself. Please give yourself the gift of OPTIMISM & GRATITUDE. All the best, All the time. emoticon emoticon

I am eating for Britain since we had some bad news on the health of my father.
What do you do/ have you done to stop the need to comfort eat in times of stress.
