WTG on the no smoking! I quit right before the new year...the 30th. Looks like we have lots in common to work on...stay quit and lose weight!! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you!

I started a challenge in the community about parking lots. Basically, I am challenging myself to park as far from the doors as I can where ever I go. That way I have to do some extra walking. It isn't a lot, but the way I see it, every little bit helps.

Good luck and Keep the Quit! You can do it!!

Wow! That is a lot to give up all at once, but I commend you on making such a move. Just think how much healthier you are just by doing this for a month.

I am self employed so I take care of my nephew when he is not in school. That is my time where I can go to the gym and also work. So I can understand being short for time some days.

When I first started working out I use to do 10 to 15 minutes here and there. I got a mini trampoline, a jump rope, and I taped a couple of workouts from fit tv. I use to alternate them through out the day to get in the 30 minutes I needed a day.

Hi Christie!

I was laid off of work on the 4th so I am at home for now with my 3 year old. She just started pre-school (3 days a week) since I am at home now and so I have using those days to go work out for an hour.

Lol, have I mentioned I also quit smoking on the 8th? It's been a crazy start to the new year!

Hello and Welcome to the group and to Spark as well.
Do not be discouraged, sometimes we do not hit the goals we want exactly when we want them. Many things cause weight gain even if you are doign the right things and stress is a big cause of it.

You will do great, just stay positive and do not give up. Relax and you will begin losing again.

Do you work or are you a SAHM?

Blessings....Christie

I have the same issue with trying to get a full 30 minutes in at once. I have been taking 10 minute power walks at work during my break time. Then today for lunch, I went to Walmart and walked more. I made sure to park as far away from the door as I could. I decided I don't ever want to roam the parking lot again looking for a close space. I am determined to park distant every time!

Be sure to check the resource center for quick workout ideas too. There is a butt blaster video there that only takes 6 minutes. Wow can you feel it in your butt and thighs!!

Welcome. Start with baby steps - do atleast 10 mins a day and then try to build it from there. Wherever you can, try to incorporate exercises - like parking your car a little away, taking the stairs, getting down a stop earlier.

Welcome,

They say 30 minutes will do it, but if you break it up in sessions of ten you should do fine.

I try to go for little walks around my building when I'm at work, to see how many times I can go around the block in 10 minutes.

Or try squats and leg lifts, see how many you can do and then pick up the pace.

this week I'm trying stairs. Last night I ran 6 blocks trying to catch a bus in 5 minutes. I was pretty winded, but I was excited that i was able to go that far without passing out.

YOU CAN DO IT!

IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN U!

HI!

I'm new here. Started my plan on the 1st of January, which I can see was a very busy month for this place! I have lost 5 pouds since then, reached a challenge weight and needed to look elsewhere to stay motivated. I have two kids and had a struggle to lose to the weight, but I did. I think stress then caused me to throw on 30 pounds in the last year. (I originally started at 183 last summer)

Well, I'll be 30 on the 26th and I am a little down on that because I was planning to lose this weight before that happened :(

A friend of mine is registered here and suggested I give it a go!! Any tips on quick short work outs I can do throughout the day would be a great help since I don't often get 30 minutes at once!

Wish me luck?! emoticon
