I take an hour pilates class at the gym every Wednesday, and I love it! I've done the Windsor Pilates home video, which isn't as effective as this class.

ENUFALRDY I feel pilates are worth the effort especially when stressed it very relaxing to me. Cal burn is not high though. But I enjoy them. 20 min pilates workout with winsor.

I know Pilates are good for you and the practice has been around for a while. They help build up your core and balance, however I was wondering if anyone has felt that doing Pilates has helped them lose weight. Do you feel Pilates has helped you lose inches and tone up? Do you feel they are worth the effort?

I watched the pilates instructional introduction video, and want to do Pilates this week. I have never done them before, but Bossy Daughter (see my page) and granddaughter both really like it. Tomorrow is Pilates day, since today was cardio.

i do pilates..and can't do half of it..but unlike all other excercises..i don't feel any ache or pain..so i guess as i do it daily..will get stronger and more flexible .

I agree completely! When I first started the class I go to I couldn't do a lot of the exercises. I almost quit. Instead I kept at it and each week I got a little better. This week the instructor said she can't believe how far I've come. On the plus side I had lost a 1/4 inch to osteoporosis ( constant steroids for asthma) and this year I was told I regained my quarter inch! Probably from all the stretching in Pilate's. emoticon

Pilates is hard to do because it constantly works on the core. When your core has been neglected for a long while, like mine, it is difficult to finish all of the moves. However, with consistency, one finds out that the move one could not complete one day, can be completed the week after. We just need to continue until success is there for you to enjoy.

I recently started pilates and looked at SP's intro video first since it seems a bit complicated. Pilates is HARD!!! I have done Windsor for 20mins and a few of Coach Nicole's videos.

I have one dvd from windsor and the instructor is awesome she explains what to do. The other is from Stott pilates she demonstrates the move too. But I must some of the other dvd from stott are advanced and I can not do some of those moves. But I do what I can.

I've never done the DVDs, are they hard to follow? When I first started taking the class I was always behind everybody because I had to watch her to understand the poses. She mixes in some yoga with the Pilate's so it's a great class.

I tried to add it to strength training. (Because that it what it is -- not cardio--) but I could not get it to do right. So added as cardio then placed how many minutes it was done.

I have winsor pilates sculping workout I did 20 min tonight. I also have stott pilates in series. Flat abs, basic pilates, firm and fit.

Hi, I do the Winsor pilates abs, buns and thighs and upper body workouts.... BUT I have slacked off this year. I am clearing the floor today so I can get back to my pilates.
Will post soon!( ps my stomach is making me look pregnant, this has to go. I have 2 special ocassions in April!)
