Day 575 - morning walk done. Finished yesterday with 65 min total.

I've had times walking in the rain this week, too! Summer weight clothes at least dry out fast and without many wrinkles.

Minnie, you are so supportive, and I love you for it. I am also as proud of you for doing 15 min when you just didn't wanna, as for walking miles on better days.

Day 574 - my walks were easier today, and the phantom pound went back to where ever it came from after a better night's sleep. (Not good, just better.)

So, it's all good, I guess.

yeah, again. i'll have you know, ms. net, that I stayed on the bike 15 min yesterday, once I got on. today I walked a mile (to and from trains) but i'm too tired to do more. afraid to get sick.

LOL, Minnie - don't you mean you don't want to start all over AGAIN?!?! The challenge served its purpose for you today, for sure!

To claim Day 572, I have 2 10-min walks in so far. Probably won't go to the pool till later, today.

I showed up for a deep water aerobics class yesterday at 5:30p - without bringing any flotation device with me. I float really well, you see. WELL! The instructor gave us all a little lecture about how we didn't get as much out of our arms and abs movement after the first 10 minutes without flotation devices: Then, she watched me and pushed me and critiqued me for the whole hour! Of course, I was honor bound then to do the best job in the class, while treading water. She wore me out. Then, I get home to find that water aerobics burn about 1/3 as many calories/hour as treading water. Not the way I do it, for sure. It was good, but it sure wore me out.

day 570 - swimming laps for 1/2 hour left me feeling refreshed! Was indoors tonight because of the rain. Last night I just hung out in the deep water pool outside, treading water - which I love to do - but this was a nice change.

Day 568 - People already laugh at me for walking and reading a book at the same time - I don't think I could walk and work on a laptop at the same time. But, a nice firm computerized treadmill might be the next great thing, Minnie - you should patent the idea!

Day 566 - Reporting helps me keep track, and I'm also making notes on which of my meds work best. I walked a brisk 10 this a.m., starting with the uphill loop, and felt less pain than I am accustomed to. Dig it. Plus, yesterday I went out and dug up the trees that had sprouted in my garden from May. I was only good for about 12-15 min of heavy labor, but I did it, and that's a first for this year. Plus, I swam for 30 min. Yesterday the system gave me lots of points, lol - I got to spin the wheel and everything.

Sharon - sounds to me like you need a new doctor. That's terrible to treat you that way!

Day 562 - my tracker says that treading water for 50 min, like I did, burned over 1000 calories. I don't believe it, but we're going out to eat this eve and that always makes it hard to get the calories down.

Good morning everyone,
Went to see a new doctor this week for my back. After driving 2 hours was told that I would have to wait until next week to see the doctor because he had another patient that needed his attention at the moment. She said that the nurse practitioner can see you though. The nurse practitioner asked me what I have come in for. I told her that I have come up to see if there was anything they could help me with my back. She said that they don't do back problems. That they do neuropathic problems.

She said that I see that you weigh over two hundred pounds. She said that you would be a good candidate for our weight loss programs. She said that we need to get you exercising to lose the weight.

I told her about the restrictions that my doctor has me on and that my personal trainer and the coaches at sparkpeople have told me not to exercise until I see a specialist. I told her that your webpage says that you deal with back and joint problems.

I told my son on the way home that it is frustrating to drive 111 miles to be told that I cannot see the doctor and that they don't treat back problems.

Robert told me that he learned from history class this last year of bait and switch. He said could this be a form of that.

I told Robert that I wasn't for sure if it was or not. That if they can't help me next week then I will call a lawyer friend of mine and see what she has to say about it.

Day 560 - started with my morning 10 - which was the long loop this a.m. The reason I was slow yesterday afternoon was that I was tired, I guess, and in pain. I go slower then. Last night I spent more time in the hot tub than usual and a little less in the pool. I'm about to switch to a new drug to try to keep rheumatoid arthritis at bay - but since I have an eye infection, I'm taking nothing right now.

Minnie - I think all of those bike seats were made for the guys! I once had a bike custom-fit to me, though, and it was so great! My feet just reached the pedals with a flat foot on the lowest part of the downstroke, and I didn't sit as "heavy". Maybe adjusting the seat down would help?

Well, today it took me 10 min to do the 8-min loop, walking. Last night at the pool one of my swim buddies brought homegrown cucumbers. It is nice to have friends with gardens! emoticon

Claiming Day 558, in a very good way! I could feel that I was walking faster, so took a longer route to get 10 min walking in this a.m. Found a deep water aerobics class yesterday, which helped me to skip my "after-school snack" - yes, that's still a habit and I'm over 60!

Minnie - thank you for your concern. the eye seems to be getting better with treatment.

Yes, I did swim 50 min on Day 556, and have walked 10 min to claim today as 557. But, I also went to the MD to get eye drops for an eye infection.

Day 555 - didn't feel up to the pool. firsst day of a cold, and my nose is running a LOT. Took some decongestants and now I feel all fuzzy. So - I did some mall walking, about 20 min, in pieces though, because I got distracted by the clearance sales. But, I'm so fat now that nothing looks good on.
