Minnie, I guess I did hear about at least one of the deaths in the family. I sympathize. At least I didn't have to deal with both in such a short time.

Day 524 - swimming, 30 min, tilll my feet cramped up.

The DH is home and learning to be diabetic, with the testing equipment and special diet. I'll have help tomorrow!

Day 523 - well, I left the coffee at home in the pot and the pot turned on, am now ready to buzz by and fix that. Snuck in 2 tiny walks and some stretching while on the job today. I hope to make it to the pool this eve. Will stop by hospital first, though. The DH says he is already off morphine and will try liquid nourishment tomorrow, so That's good!

Day 522 - A Challenge! I was up till 5, getting the DH checked into hospital through emergency. He has pancreatitis and they will probably keep him a week. So, I got up at 6:30a to pack myself a sack lunch because I have been manning the office all alone today, with no one to break me. I just went outside to see what the little power outage was about and watched some dark drooping clouds come out of no-where into the clear sunny 90-degree day and inside of 10 min pass overhead, dropping a little rain but thankfully no tornadoes. Got accosted by someone in the parking lot who wanted some change for gasoline! As if change would buy gasoline. I told him this office doesn'tkeep cash around, and that is true. Then, I came in and started the at the office, 15 min exercise video, and found that the first 3 exercises were all about working those knees against my weight - and I avoid stairs to postpone the inevitable knee replacement surgery. BUT, the rest of them were worthwhile, so I got my 10 min in. Now, I can go see the DH, go home to eat (he doesn't get to eat for a while.) and maybe make it to the pool.

The clouds worried me a little. small bits of rotation, and the movement was exactly the opposite of it's usual direction. Now, we are getting a gentle rain, out of a clear blue sky. And, instead of being oppressively hot, it's cool outside.

Day 521, claiming the day after treading water for 30 min, but I actually felt the strain more walking and walking through a giant box store, shopping for the week - that took 45+ min.

Day 513 - I did get out and walk, pushing myself for an uphill walk of 6 min and return of 4+, but I SO wanted to swim today. 81 degrees - I could have used the out door pool for the first time this season! I have time to get there and back again, but no time to swim (sigh). I spent all afternoon at the auto mechanics, getting an oil change (FREE for your birthday!) and a tire fixed (nail). 3 hours, broken by my walk. AND, I was charged $50 for my free oil change, the flat fix and a tire rotation (which would have been free where I bought the tiers, but I THOUGHT that would cost me more time out of day.) PLUS, I was given an $800 estimate for things I really, really should let them do.

I told them on the way out that no one mentioned the 2 problems I really DO have with the car - a bad light, and 'random missfire" that keeps the check engine light on all the time. Now the DH gets to say "I told you so!" and I have a half an hour to clean house or something. Ugh. Well, we are going out to eat and to the casinos this eve. Sometimes that is sort of fun. I actually had a winning night not too long ago...

welcome in out of the rain, Minnie! And thank you for reminding me to post. I walked exactly 10 min this a.m., and I'm ready to go again. I think it would be great if the rain held off long enough today for me to get to the pool - but there's tomorrow, I guess.

minnie, why so unhappy? 30 min walking is respectable - and more than I did today! Oh, I did some cleaning and lifting and general moving around, but I am just back from the stationary bike in our flooded basement - where I rode for 10, just to keep the streak alive. Day 506.
