OK, Sat., day 9. I am just back from 45 min swim. I have een out walking through stores, too and should be pushing that vacuum, but it's not much fun.

Yesterday's total came to 60 min. I'd like to get back to that as a regular number. I remember first starting though, when it took me three tries to get in 10 min walking.

Nola! Speaking of total knee replacement!! Mine was in Dec. How long have you been working out kinks?

I got 15 minutes on the bike tonight! I have readjusted the seat and I am hoping that tomorrow when I ride I can put my foot in the clips. I have been riding with one foot clipped and one foot with the pedal upside down because my total knee doesn't bend all the way and it makes my ankle hurt when I pedal with it in the clip!

Drat this cold, Minnie! Although I really can't much complain. We've had it much better in KC than over most of the country. I counted yesterday early on the day itself, so now I'm all messed up. I have done some knee exercises indoors, and am just heading out for a walk. Friday, today is Day 8 of this streak, I think.

OK, reporting for Tuesday as Day 5 - swimming only, but about 50 min. Day 6, Wed., lunges and such plus treading water, total about 45 min. Day 7 Thursday, walked 20 min and swam hard laps for 225.

Thank you Minnie! - I seem to have missed reporting at least one Day - which would have been Sun, I think, and Day 4. Just now reporting for yesterday as Day 5. Swam at least 30 min each day. Although... , my new knee is hurting me again. Don't know what that is about. The surgeon did say a year to heal. sigh. It is NOT as bad now as it was before surgery, though

Minnie, I know, but it's not too hard to give up on 3 days' worth of a streak.
Anyhoo - I am SORE from swimming laps for 45 min yesterday, so that definitely counts as a Day 1. And I have already been for a 20-min walk today so I can also claim Day 2.
Lost another 1/2 pound per the scales this a.m. emoticon The thing that works? Sleeping for 6+ hours at night!

OK, false start. And, I really had been working out 2-3 times a day for weeks. But that's OK because I saw a new (for this time round) low number on the scales this a.m. Truly, I felt kind of punk yesterday. Sore throat, a little queasy, sore muscles all over, pain in my knees. So, I took a day to recoup.

Minnie - so sorry to hear about your broken foot! Of COURSE you are finding a way to keep on track. You are good at this.

I'm just now claiming Day 2 for yesterday. I did my exercises and went swimming late, as usual. Missed my walk. I was feeling achy and sore and the temperature out there was in the single digits and I let it slide for one day.
Can't claim Day 3 yet, so I'll be back...

Hi, Minnie!! Hi, new friends! I guess I am ready to commit to being BACK and doing some reporting. But, oops! I haven't done my exercises yet today LOL. Got a total knee replacement in Dec and then was focused (through a blur of narcotic pain-relievers) on BENDING that knee and meeting goals that way. It's not a very valid excuse now, though, since I have gotten off the drugs.

I'm feeling really confident today, though, because the scales moved to a lower number than I have seen for a while and my routine is pretty well set. I do the squats and lunges and stair stepping for my knee in the morning. I walk about a half mile in the afternoon. And I swim in the evening. So, I am getting several opportunities to do my 10 min every day, and even if I miss one, I'm still moving forward.

Anyway, I wanted to greet you all and say congratulations for taking charge of your health! I expect to hear more from all of us.

pam, glad u r up and about. 87 min is a lot on first day up.

day 2
yesterday i walked 5 min and did 7 min arm video.
today will walk 5 min and do lower strength.

recovering from fractured foot and jaw surgery.
