No intentional movement yesterday but today I got in 25 min of strength training and 20 min of zumba. Thanks for mentioning the gazelle. I used to own one but it really wasn't for me. I prefer dancing to some of the musicals I own, Richard Simmons and NIA.

Try to googler "tony little gazelle" and you will see what a gazelle is. There are three different models (going from 99 to 389 USD), but even the most simple model (the one I have) is fun to use and is a great work out!

More on the Gazelle. Never tried one, noticed them on sale @ Penney's for $99...not bad for an effective piece of exercise equipment!

It was cold last night, but I seriously needed some exercise, so I did 10 minutes aerobics inside to get warmed up, then headed out for a brisk walk in the chilly night air. It was actually fun once I got out there!

Good idea to utilize commmercial breaks. My other challenge is a sedentary job. My solution has been to set an alarm on my computer for walks every hour. Many times so engrossed in whatever task is at hand that I push snooze a lot. Nonetheless, I have gotten more walking in than before. Also remembering I'm entitled to two 15 min breakes per day that usually go unused.

Welcome Lindsay....

One thing I like for indoors exercise is the Gazelle. The thing is great!

You are still off to a good start. Don't expect too much too soon.

If the weather is bad, I often put on an exercise video, or play on my stability ball. Sometimes, I get dressed up and put on music and go dancing inside my home. The idea is MOVEMENT works. It don't have to be walking outdoors. Walk indoors as fast as you can safely walk from one part of the house to another part. Do it every commercial break during your favorite one hour show. You will get 10 minutes in that way too.

Hi Colleen, Don and Joann... Thanks for the encouragement. Went to the Health club today and did 30 min of strength training, 5 min on elliptical and 20 min on the treadmill. Hoping to get a local friend to join me at the health club. My renewal 3 month membership includes a trainer. Welcome Lindsay,
You'll be amazed at all the little things you do in your every day life that can be considered exercise.
Walking around the mall, grocery shopping, even vacuuming are all good sources of exercise.
Have a great third day.

Welcome aboard!

Hey, if the weather outside is "frightful" there's always lots of great exercises listed here @ SP to help build strength and flexibility...don't lose the momentum!

Another idea is to head out to your local mall...although they're likely to be a bit of a challenge with the crowds lately...lol

I am having the same problem. Started both days with a 10 minute walk, and it was so Miserably cold, I didn't get in the second half. I am not giving up. Tomorrow i am going to the libreary, and I always sped at least 30 minutes walking around there. Two years ago I was doing it with a cane, so I am glad to be able to walk at all.

Though I was off to a flying start on T-day with a 20 min walk, today I only got in 10 minutes. Cold weather though sunny put a damper on my resolve. Speaking of "damper", cold and rain is in the forecast for the next 3-4 days so I'm planning on doing strength training and cardio at the health club. One form of movement that I love is zumba.
