Interesting topic. When you've had Crohn's for 28 years, it can be hard to not let it rule your life. However, you are right. It is a condition I have, it isn't me.
I enjoy my family, kayaking, camping, bonfires, star gazing, gardening, snowshoeing, music and art.. My passion is lampworking, which is making glass beads using a torch, and spending time with a great group of other beadmakers. I also dabble in silver smithing and jewelry design.
Oh, and I have a wicked/slightly sarcastic sense of humor. So, don't take me too seriously! lol!

I am a winemaker, girlfriend, amateur chef, dog walker, sister, daughter, pruis owner, friend, and cousin. I have a lot of family. I also LOVE to laugh and read and see new places. I can't let colitis get in the way.

every feel like your disease defines more of who you are than you wish it would???
even though we live with chronic illness does NOT mean it is who and what we are ---- i believe this and have determined to live it with all i am! i am NOT Crohn's: i have crohn's, i treat it, i educate myself often about it, i am sometimes (well, maybe often) physically controlled by it, BUT it doesn't define me!
rather, i am friendly, i am a mother, i am a writer, i am a dog walker, i am a gardener, i love to laugh AND these are some things that should define me! i am determined!
HOW about YOU?? are you determined to not just BE disease, what ARE you??
