I just got diagnosed with Collagenous Colitis after a month of severe diarrhea. I went to the pharmacy last night to get the prescription filled, and they told me the same thing! They recommended that I ask the doctor for something else, and said the $1000 was AFTER my insurance! How can the companies get away with this?!
OMG. I knew it was expensive, but even with my Co-Pay, I had to pay 60 for it. I only took it about two weeks, I had crazy side effects from it. I had insomnia, INSANE moodswings, to the point that I had written out a list of how my death would affect my friends and family, like I was planning suicide or something, didnt even know I had written it out until, I woke up the next morning and it was lying in the bed beside me, those were the depression side of the moodswings, and like I would have that, and within minutes, i was raging, like i could KILL someone, i honestly think i could have while i was on the medication, i had breakouts, acne on my face I am 33 years old, I am past the acne stage. Several other effects, so they let me come off of it. I had pretty much quit taking it on my own anyways. I take Flagyl, along with Philips Colon Health, and FiberCon. Those work for me thus far.

My MC had really gotten worse so I bit the bullet and called the dr I had seen before. I've been on endocort in the past, even though it took over 2 years before I could stop the meds. I had insurance at the time and was only paying the $25 copay. But, now, I have no insurance and no job. I knew it would be pricey. But my jaw dropped when I got to the pharmacy. The pharmacist suggested I go back to the dr and ask for something different. You better believe I am.
