Like the OP I found out as the result of a colonoscopy that I have diverticulosis. I really think he told me the last time I had a colonoscopy, at least that's what my dh says. I've had polpys removed, both this time & a previous colonoscopy. My Dad had colon cancer so I have to do this every year, although I stretch it out to every couple of years.
He just told me to eat a diet high in fiber & come back in a year!
Welcome to the team. I got a bad case of it this last summer & if you get an active case you will notice. I had a lot of pain on my left side, I described it as worse than having a child. My doctor told me a few thing to not eat at all, which was any type of corn & real fatty foods. She said to pay attention to what I eat & if I have trouble after eating something, then I will know not to eat that food again. I have done lots of checking on Mayo clinic web site for information & reading what others say more so than the different doctors, one might say no seeds but the next one will say it's ok. So get to know your body & you will figure out what bothers you.
Be the best you can be every day!

Sorry for the late welcome to the group -- it's silly season for professional photographers between mother's day and grad. Please take some time to check out the resources posted in the links section of this spark team -- lots of stuff you'll find helpful.
I am new here. I was recently diagnosed with diverticulosis during a routine colonoscopy. My mother died last year of stage 4 bowel cancer, so my doc wanted me to have a scope. I am 44 years old. Happy to report no cancer, but they found diverticulosis. My gastroenterologist keeps asking me about pain....I have had some abdominal pain in the past, but just associated it with other things...guess it may have been some GI inflammation??? I am looking to learn more about this condition and how to manage it.
Thanks for this group! :)
