thank you littlefay. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for 6/10. I've seen my GI and internist. I've tried flagy but had a reaction. I'm so depressed I don't know what more to do. I'm losing weight but not in the way I want...some days I just can't eat. I wish someone would help. I can't really afford another hospital stay...still paying for my ICU stay from Feb. the only way to really get any attention is to go to the ER I guess. Thank you all for letting me vent.

Also, I would try a heating pad or such over the belly. That much pain sounds like how I start to have a flare. The sensitivity to pants around the waist is my first clue to diverticulitis.

Maybe you need a change of antibiotics. After 7 days you shouldn't have such bad pain. I would call the prescribing doctor. Thrush is no picnic. I had that after a life threatening allergic reaction. Please don't suffer in silence. Talk it over with a medical person.

thank you all for the replies. It seems I have a good day and then 2 bad days. Does the pain go away? I've been on antibiotics for a week and I think I have thrush. I can't stand for anything to be on my belly...lol...so all my pants are low riders.

I use baked apple, applesauce, prune juice (in the evening-it works too well). You can probably get a list of foods, etc. on the web. If not call your doctor. Stool softener pills help too. Mild exercise is also supposed to help. Been there, done that, so I wish you get back to yourself quickly.

I take stool softeners ( Colace, if it is bad twice a day) and drink aloe vera juice to relieve constipation. Even now when I am eating lots of fiber , I still take stool softeners, once a day and the aloe vera juice, because of the medication I take for other health issues, I tend to be constipated.

Smile, and the world smiles with you !

New to diverticulitis. What have you done to relieve constipation when having an attack and are now on a low residue diet? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
